Where to start…read more.. First and foremost my dealing with Tim was A++++, my family and I would highly recommend Autobahn West for any future purchases. My journey to finding the right 2011 BMW 335d started locally to me in Portland/Vancouver. Finding numerous examples and wasting my time to even go look at them. Talking to non-knowledgeable people and driving piles of crap really started to wear on me. So I decided to expand my search to the neighboring states and that is where I had found Autobahn West Enterprises "Tim Yost". Tim had the perfect example that we were looking for in the 335d with low miles and great history of previous ownership. Tim answered every question I had about the vehicle and exceeded my expectations. Tim's knowledge and customer service are top notch. Next was for me to complete the funding from my end which proved to be somewhat difficult as my bank would not approve and out of state deal. Feeling let down and surely thought the car was going to sell before I could secure funding, I called Tim and gave him the news, I surely thought Tim was going to tell me tough luck bud, but to my surprise Tim tried his best to help me with securing funding and also assured me he would not sell the car to anyone else until I gave him the for sure answer if I couldn't purchase the car. Depressed and beaten down I gave it one more go with another local credit union to me and sure as the sun shines they were able to approve the funding for the purchase. With excitement I called Tim and gave him the exciting news and was so happy with how patient he was with us through the whole ordeal with funding. Next we sourced the plane flights to San Diego, where Autobahn/Tim offered airport pickup shuttle. Tim picked my family and I from the airport and shuttled us all the way to Autobahn, where we got our first chance to see the car in person and we were in awe as it was exactly what we were looking for and so happy to have finally found it. I was able to trade my 2008 Dodge Avenger SXT, that had many many problems and it was due for smog and registration. I had a total of four cars to choose from, and with my trade in I only had to put down $500 in cash. Even though I wasn't able to drive off the lot for a few days, they went above and beyond making sure the car was cleaned and all the little issues fixed. There was a small dent in the bumper and they fixed that, the top to the sunroof cover was replaced also. When I got there they had it washed and even put a big red bow on it for me because it was an early birthday present for myself. Aziz was very prompt at communicating with me if I had any questions while waiting for my car and Manny was also great at answering all my questions and even making sure my name was spelled correctly on all the forms LOL. Each time I went to them in hopes to pick the car up, they were always friendly and always offered me water and of course a very large supply of candy which they insisted on me taking. The initial sales representative was knowledgeable and patient, answering questions clearly and giving us space to evaluate the vehicle. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to meet the price point we were targeting, and we were prepared to walk away from the deal. At that point, the sales manager, Osama, stepped in and made a meaningful difference. He worked with us to bring the price into a range that made sense, and, importantly, he ensured a few outstanding items were addressed before delivery. The vehicle was properly aligned, and a trunk latch bar was repaired prior to pickup the following day. That attention to detail and follow-through was appreciated and helped make the transaction feel fair and complete. Overall, the buying process was easy and mostly professional, in line with what you'd expect from a smaller, independent dealership. That said, the reason this isn't a five-star review comes down to a single but important moment. After declining the first offer and stepping into the manager's office, we overheard the initial salesperson, along with another salesperson on the floor, speaking negatively about my friend and me regarding the failed negotiation. They were unaware we could still hear the conversation. While unfortunate, it was also unnecessary and unprofessional. Aside from that incident, the experience was acceptable. The inventory is limited (roughly 30 vehicles on the lot), so selection may not suit everyone, but pricing flexibility and management involvement were definite positives. I contacted several dealerships in the LA area over the next 2 months to find another well taken care of vehicle at a fair price. You would think finding any vehicle in a densely populated metropolis such as Los Angeles would be fairly easy, with a plethora of options to choose from. Not so much the case or at least not so much my luck until I expanded my search outside of LA and came across New to You Auto Sales in El Cajon CA. New to You Auto Sales not only had the vehicle (i.e. make, model, options, color, mileage, etc.) but it was also in outstanding condition and they offered it at a very fair price!
