My fiancé and I purchased a car here about 3 weeks ago. Being that we were nearly 100 miles away, I called in advance to check that the car was available and to see about financing. I was told by the person on the phone, Rick, that the finance company would not approve financing without adding on their warranty, which was an additional $2800. We made the trip out there and after sitting down to talk financing, I mentioned that the price was pretty high, considering the year and condition of the car and then suddenly they're talking about how they're already giving me a massive discount despite the fact that at NO point from when I called to when we were looking at the car, did they ever talk about giving us a discount. At this point, the finance person we were talking to just up and left and the manager took over. I asked for $350 off and they gave me very hard time about it, however they did approve it. They have you sign all the paperwork with a computer screen half turned towards you. The car gave us a flashing check engine light on the way home. Once reading the paperwork that was emailed to us, I saw on the warranty page as well as the financing page that it states that the warranty is not required or considered for accepting financing. This was very upsetting as we were told, Prior to ever making the trip over; that we would need to have the warranty to secure the financing. When signing the paperwork they do not go into detail about the warranty, They hardly even bring it up. The manager agreed to refund the warranty, however, because "he's losing money on the deal" He has to take his cut of our refund ($1,600) And then we can have the remaining $1,300. I explained to him that We were told we had to have the warranty To secure the financing by Rick. He did not seem to care and instead of doing the honorable thing which would be to return the full value of the warranty because we were lied to by one of his employees, he insists on taking his cut. Despite us being lied to, despite book value on the cars loan paperwork listed as under 5000 (the care was listed at nearly 10k and we purchased for 8.4k) despite that we asked and they agreed on an additional $350 off, and despite that we were told they get most of their cars from auction. So instead of Acknowledging the fact that we were lied to by one of the employees And making things right by refunding us for the full amount of the warranty; They are still going to take their cut of $1600 and they are not even honoring the $350 that I requested off (I never originally requested the $1,600 off. As previously stated we came there, assuming we were going to pay full price, and were not told about a discount until I directly questioned what they were talking about) It seems to me like they only gave us the additional amount off to get us approved for financing, but because they were taking less on the car, they added the warranty so that they could still make an additional profit. Every time I call, they say that the manager is gonna call me back and he never does. But of course, when I was calling to originally buy the car, they were l quick to call back. This could have been a much different review, despite the slimy hard selling techniques; I did like the car, however I cannot stand behind being purposely misled and lied to and when Confronting them about it, they refuse to actually make it right. The trust is gone. I have to agree with the negative reviews. Please do not buy a car here. I will never return. First let me respond to the reply. Here are the comments directed at my post and my response: ZAS: Thank you for sharing your feedback. We respect every customer's right to express their opinion, but we also believe the full context matters. This vehicle was a 2013 Kia Optima with over 110,000 miles that was sold on July 1, 2024, in an approximate $8,000 price range. As with any older, high-mileage used vehicle, normal wear, prior-owner modifications, maintenance items, and future repairs are realities buyers should reasonably expect over time. We are a family-owned independent dealership, not a new car franchise selling brand-new vehicles with factory warranties. Our goal is always to provide affordable transportation options at fair market pricing while being transparent during the purchase process. Me: My vehicle was not a 2013 Kia, instead it is a 2017. Also, I never complained about wear and tear or about warranties. It is right to say it is reasonable to expect wear and tear over time which is why my review did not include that issue at all. This part of the response makes me feel that you didn't actually read the review or they do not know the customer who they addressing. ZAS: The customer drove and owned the vehicle for nearly two years before posting this review. After seeing the review, we attempted to contact the customer using the phone number on file to better understand the concerns and see if there was a reasonable way to help; however, the number on file does not appear to be working or receiving calls. Me: I called you first before posting a review and your Manager said, "We can not do anything for you. There is no way we can help you". So after posting the response they proceeded to call me twice. Both calls appeared as spam. First time I was on the phone so I could not pick up. Second time I answered and there was radio silence for 10 secs. Thankfully phones today record duration and how calls where received so I have screenshots to verify all this. ZAS: We are disappointed to see serious accusations such as fraud, "bait and switch," and illegal conduct directed toward our business without giving current management a fair opportunity to review and address the concerns directly. Me: First, I want to apologize, I mistakenly used the wrong terminology regarding the illegal action ZAS Motors promoted it was not "Bait and switch" but instead "tie in sale" or "add-on packing". This is in fact ILLEGAL and -since seen in other reviews- it is a practice done more than once. Secondly, as mentioned prior I did call first, which I can prove, and asked to handle the situation which was met with indifference. Not only that, but I proceeded to follow up by calling and Texting back the number that had called me. After two days passed I called again. After answering the first time they promised to call me back. Now no call back and they are unwillingly to respond to my calls. So I do not really believe you are trying at all to help mitigate the situation. ZAS: Regarding the TPMS issue, older vehicles with aftermarket wheels or prior modifications can sometimes have missing or faulty sensors. This is not uncommon in older pre-owned vehicles and was never an attempt to deceive anyone. As for optional products, all paperwork and disclosures are reviewed and signed at the time of purchase. If there was ever confusion or miscommunication, we would have preferred the opportunity to discuss it directly and professionally. Me: The modified wheels are fine and I understand that can happen. That is not the point of contention. The point of contention was the fact they tried hiding it without disclosing it and furthermore cover it up by forcing the TPMS code to disappear. Next, I said didn't want them from the beginning and I was told I MUST purchase them so at the time of purchase was there an opportunity to discuss the matter. After buying an 07 mini cooper less than 2 weeks ago, it is in the shop with my mechanic. It's an old car, of course there are going to be issues, right? Well, after driving only about 20-30 miles warning lights came on, including the check engine light. Now, I'm not new to buying old cars, so I am well aware of the oddly suspicious timing. Shady car dealers will either manually clear the codes, or sometimes they will just disconnect the negative battery clamp for a bit and that will do the trick too. It takes a little time/miles for the cars computer to run a new check to see if the codes are going to fire again. Tada now they have no pesky warning lights when people want to take if for a test drive. I took it to a trust worthy mechanic. When I get to my mechanics shop he asks me why my plates are registered to a Dodge caravan. Weird. I call zas right away and the first thing the guy does is condescendingly asked me if the lights were on when I took it for a test drive. Of course they weren't because someone (not naming names) cleared the codes. And he claimed the mechanic must have made a mistake when checking the plate. He didn't. It took a call to the DMV to get the real plate number for the car. I've been asking for the inspection report they are going to use to register the car, they claim it was done. It has to be done within 90 of them selling the car, so it should have been done this year. They haven't provided it yet. I have paid the direct cost of the car but when I told them I am not paying for a paint protection that wasn't provided and I will only pay the actual cost for title transfer and registration (not and estimate while I wait for them to pay me back any overpayment) they threatened to keep the title to the car and not transfer it at all. The car is paid for, I paid their listed advertised price in full. Yes, it took me 6 days to pay it in two chunks, something the guy decided was a huge favor to allow me to do for some reason, but it's paid for. All in all, the car isn't really in bad shape. There are other repairs but I'll pay for those, no issue. But the timing of the check engine and warning light are too concerning. I am asking for them to honor the 50/50 agreement on the 30 day warranty despite me taking it to my mechanic, something that I feel is completely reasonable given the highly suspicious issues surrounding the car and the firing of the check engine light. Let's see how it goes. My suggestion - bring your own reader and a mechanic if you want to buy a car from these guys. read more

They saw her and tried to push it on her, karma. The tires have rivers, that's a $700 investment. Front rotors are done, $600 job minimum. Hi everyone, Wanted to take the time to tell people my HORRIBLE experience. I called down to this dealership from the Bay Area, they has the exact car I was looking for ask I called down and spoke with a representative claiming to be the sales manager. We talked for a few minutes, he confirmed the car is available, confirmed mileage and price. He then sent me a credit app for the vehicle, in which I applied. I applied right away, he called me back hours later to tell me I was approved and we confirmed down payment and terms, but had asked if I was interested in any others and I said I wasn't he said ok and then we hung up. I began planning my trip and bought my plane ticket to San Diego, when I get a phone call from the Dealership and a man claiming to be the General Manager, he was calling because the vehicle I purchased was sold three days prior! He was very professional and very apologetic, his employee tried to lie about what happened but luckily I had it in text and was able to prove to him what happened. He stated he would work with me directly and help do "whatever" it takes to make this right. They showed me three other cars that I didn't care for, then one that I did like but was a few thousand more. When I asked about that, I guess doing "whatever it takes" means literally nothing because they told me I'd have to pay the difference. This is by definition a BAIT AND SWITCH, I have filed complaints with multiple companies due to this and them sending my credit out for zero reason. I normally don't review car dealerships but I felt this one was necessary. Let me start off by saying that my overall personal interaction with the salesperson working was pleasant, not pushy, and relatively transparent. I feel the salesman wasn't familiar with Jeep's which I can understand, it's hard to know every car make and model front to back, so I don't discredit his efforts. He was generally very nice and pleasant. My complaint with this company is they're selling this particular 10+ year old Jeep Wrangler Sahara for $4k-$6k more than the blue book priced value. The other issues above this ^ are as follows: Upon inspecting the vehicle, the appearance is polished which I can tell they made this car appealing to the buyer. However, it quickly became a smoke and mirror situation. Popped the hood and the radiator cap was missing. Red flag. The back seats were also removed from this vehicle, which the salesperson did offer to go to the Junk yard and find some for me. The car sounded like it was idling ok. The aftermarket off-roading tires were at 40% tread which for me, would be an additional $600+ to replace them, you cannot just buy 2 tires on a 4-wheeling vehicle. Another expense. The car seems to ride ok, whoever had it before made the differential much More dramatic for crawling, so the steering was extremely loose even on city roads. Took this baby on the freeway to see how she did, I had to flinstone my foot to the ground to even get it to go above 60mph, took time and effort. Then the entire car began shaking tremendously, it felt like it was going to fall apart. Yes, that's an exaggeration but it was pretty bad. The car then coming to a stop, I had to slam all my energy into the breaks to get it to stop, meaning the breaks had a malfunction or have not been refreshed for resale. After this scary test drive, I then drop it off at the lot where I went to roll up the driver side window. Which, would to my surprise not roll up. The lot assistant said he informed his tech guy and that there's a way to get it up but it's a sweet spot. I drove by this morning, that window is still down (I live a few blocks away). The reason why I'm going into detail is because Had I not known what to look for, I may have purchased what appeared to be a cool great car, and then been stuck with a 10 year old car that needs constant upgrades and repairs. This car also says " CLEAN TITLE" but when you review the car auto report it has had structural damage twice which means, no! It's likely a salvaged title. To anyone who is young or inexperienced with purchasing cars. Please take someone with you who can look out for these things, I've made this mistake as a kid and don't want someone to be sold a car that's not worth it's value like this. Good luck. read more

This past weekend I went to ZAS Motors to see about a BMW Z Roadster. The young man "helping" me did not seem very happy or motivated to be there. I asked to test drive the car and during the test drive he was in his phone the whole time and didn't care about any of the questions I had. I asked about the previous owner and if the car was properly maintained. His response was I'll give you the car fax and you can do your own research on the car. I asked again, about how the car was acquired. I was finally told "by auction". I asked, if there was any issues with the car? He replied, all cars from auctions have problems. That the price tag on the car meant it had no problems. I further asked questions about the BMW I already knew like the size of the engine. If it where either an inline 6 or 4 to see if he was really acting the way he was acting. He gave me all wrong answers. Getting back to the dealership I inspected the car for oil/ radiator coolant leaks. While looking under the car I noticed engine oil accumulating at the bottom of the engine. I asked about it, to which he replied he'll have it looked at during the week. The car was also $4k-$5k over Kelly blue book. In closing I told the sales associate if I where to make an all cash offer of top Kelly blue book price and I was told no. He can only do $500 off, keep in mind I had the cash on me. I was pre approved with my credit union and searched for cars on true car websites for vehicles to test drive and hopefully purchase. When we showed up and inquired about a specific vehicle that we were interested in for a great price through the credit union car buying program. The car salesman seemed nice and helpful all of 2 seconds and then all the pressure of a sleazy, fast talking salesman came out, which started to irritate me. We had to wait for them to bring the vehicle because he said they had to move some cars for a pavement revamp. While we were waiting, he started asking me questions, and I told him I'm already pre approved through my credit union, and now we just want to test drive the vehicle. He wanted me to prove I was approved, and I said, "What does it matter? At this point, we haven't seen the vehicle or test drove it..then he started going on and on how great this vehicle was and how much they put into their used cars, etc. Then he said well unless you have the check, we can't let you drive off with the vehicle without doing a soft credit check on me." I said again, "I haven't seen, nor drove the car, and you're not pulling my credit! I have other cars on my list to go look at. He continued and started questioning why I wouldn't allow him to pull my credit. A soft credit won't hurt me if my credit is good. I started getting pissed and he's like, "You seem irritated, and I said I am. This is why I was pre-approved prior, and I know the price of the vehicle, and it falls within my price range and your not getting my information for a test drive and we can leave and find another place to test drive cars. At that time, the car pulled up. My daughter really wanted this kind of vehicle, but as soon as I got in, I noticed the low tire pressure and an engine light on, so I mentioned it to him, and he was making some random it's been sitting, but they just maintenence this car and he'll show me the car facts, well the vehicle pulled to the side, red flag and he said cars do that with low tire pressure, then tried to talk me into turning on the radio, and I'm like I'm listening to the engine, which I could hear a thumping noise and then as I tried to brake for a light, my daughter's like brake Mom and I'm like its the brakes, he's like that's how they are with new breaks at that point I was done. He's like, "You can go this way to drive it more. I said nope I'm done and I know my way back. We got out of the car, I looked at the complete balding tires and pointed that out, and he's like well I have more cars.""" Let me help you. What is your approval amount? It doesn't matter cause I'm not buying here. It was definitely a place where they seemed helpful all of 5 minutes, and the salesman basically lied. I've been thinking of getting another fun car for a while and was going to go in to take a look at some of the German vehicles they had on display, until I noticed how they parked their cars. Maybe I'm nitpicky but I don't want to buy a car from a place that bumps the cars into the red poles and chains surrounding the property, and actually leaves them like that! Why would you intentionally damage the paint on a car you're trying to sell to someone? The day I went there was a subura thats bumper was completely scraped against and resting on the curb, a pretty sweet looking bimmer with the whole bumper touching the metal white chains, and a volkwagen literally parked touching the pole and chains. Very friendly salespeople. But the car I purchased after one WEEK needs over $2900.00 worth of repairs (oil leaking), Water Pump Pulley belt cracking. I know that buying a used car is my responsibility and the car was sold as is (my mistake), just make sure you take the car you plan to purchase from Zas to your own mechanic before you purchase the car or bring a mechanic to check the car before you buy it because it may not be reliable, mine wasn't. I was very disappointed in the quality of the car I was sold. Also, I was given a service warranty by Liberty Shield that really didn't do anything. I was told by Liberty Shield and their representative that they would cover the repairs, and then at the last minute, I was told they would not, and I was stuck with the cost of all the repairs. Don't spend your money on Liberty Shield Warranty they are on the East Coast and not very helpful. My mistake was believing that the car I was sold was in good condition, I should have known better. Again, I know that the car was sold as is, but you would think a reputable dealership would want to sell reliable cars. The mechanic where I took the car to get diagnostics said the person that sold me the car should have known about the issues. So sad because the people there were vere nice, but I guess all salespeople are nice it's their job to sell you a car. I did reach out to Zas dealership a few times but never really got any response. I'm not sure what they would say since the car was sold as is. Paid over 10,000 for the car. read more

We can't say enough about the great service and beyond expectation attention to detail we received from the entire staff at ZAS Motors! My wife found a car online she liked and I went down to check it out. Jersey came to greet me as soon as I walked on the lot with a big smile and a kind "Hello!" We took a test drive and I ended up buying the car. I must have been in a state of awe, because the Mercedes 350 GLK was so fast, handled like race car, and pristine inside, the engine compartment was immaculate. When I got home and took my wife for a drive she noticed a chip in the windshield, and when we left the next day to sign paperwork, the DMV connection had been down, we noticed the roof antennae was missing. I asked Ricky about using the windshield glue to fix the chip and he immediately said he'd replace the windshield with a brand new sensor windshield, his cost $600. Jersey and I came up with a fix for the antennae issue, and happy wife, happy life! I made them wait for my 5 Star review, until I received my paperwork. They are a total rip off! DO NOT come here. I recently came and purchased a vehicle. When buying a vehicle you are super excited, proud of purchasing and overall just ecstatic. In this case it was the total opposite. Being lied to, getting sold a vehicle that puts you in harm, is not working how it should be, oil leaks engine problems and never was told the truth. I didn't know when you purchased a new or used car from a dealership "big or not" you would be sold a car that doesn't work and will break down and they expect you to just put more money up. They don't care about the people. They just want your money. They tell you one thing but do another. Please don't come here. Yall is straight up just wrong. Yall should be willing to fix the issue or buy the car back. Losing work hours sleep and unnecessary stress is not what I signed up for when buying a car from them or anyone. Buyer beware! I tried to purchase a vehicle unseen from these guys and have it transported to Travis Air Force Base. This dealership wasted my time and my money. We had a deal on a vehicle pending an inspection they claimed was already done, and no issues were found. I wanted to make sure and I paid Toyota to do their inspection anyway. Turns out some issues were present that needed to be taken care of. The dealership said I would have to pay to get it fixed or pay more than the agreed upon price for the vehicle for them to fix it. What a joke! I just covered the cost of the pre-purchase inspection for them. Horrible ethical practices at this dealership. Stay away from dishonest Thomas! read more

Most people I know dread car shopping, me included. I must tell you that it was a complete breath of fresh air upon entering ZAS Motors. I was not pounced upon by several salesmen. I was however, greeted with a beautiful smile and a warm handshake. Kimberly was so nice and added no sales pressure whatsoever. When it came to test driving, she gave me the keys and stayed in the office. Again, NO SALES PRESSURE whatsoever! This is not a paid review. I got a 2013 kia soul. The salesman was very transparent. I have met many cars salesman before, but i never met somebody like them. They are honest and fair with their pricing. I did not feel taken advantage of at all. The salesman was very panctual, respectful and kind.
