I got lucky with a great experience. You never know what to expect when purchasing a vehicle. I purchased yesterday and feel completely comfortable about this transaction. My Purchase: 2010 Honda Civic Listing Price: $10,995 ($178 less than KBB value) They were not willing to negotiate this price, and I don't blame them. Additionally, I paid: 8% for CA sales Tax *Mandatory by the State of CA --------------------------------------------------------- $80 Document Processing Fee *CA puts a legal limit for this fee to be no more than $85. The state average for this fee is $56. I paid a higher price than average for document processing. --------------------------------------------------------- $50 Emission Testing Charge *For vehicles older than 4 years, this charge is mandatory by the State of CA --------------------------------------------------------- $25 Electronic Vehicle Registration Charge *It appears that this fee is to pay a third party for processing their documents. *This charge is not mandatory for vehicle purchases in general, I think. --------------------------------------------------------- $20 Vehicle License Fee *Mandatory by the State of CA --------------------------------------------------------- $15 Registration, Transfer, Title Fees *Mandatory by the State of CA --------------------------------------------------------- $8.25 State Emissions Certificate *I couldn't find anywhere on the DMV website where this was a mandatory fee. It's only $8.25, so It's not that big of a deal for me to just eat the cost without investigating it further. It could possibly be a mandatory fee, I just don't know. -------------------------------------------------------- In total, I paid: $10,995 for the vehicle $890 for CA sales tax $199 for processing and administration fees The sales agent I had worked with was Ayrat. These prices were presented to me honestly and clearly. I am very pleased with my buying experience here and will check in with them next time I need another vehicle. Additional, after the test drive, and before the actual purchase, I had asked if a couple of my concerns with the vehicle interior were addressed. I honestly didn't expect my requests to be met, but they were met kindly and quickly, and I really appreciate it. Ayrat gets my recommendations and return business. - Chris read more

Me and my family purchased four vehicles from Auto City. Each time, there is no nonsense, no pressure and no games. They are very helpful when choosing a car and getting financing. There is no price haggling because the prices are extremely fair...and I know how to verify the value of a vehicle. I recently purchased a 2019 Nissan Sentra with all the fixins'. I purchased the car for about $900 less than any other dealership I shopped. Plus, it was in great condition, except for some minor things one would expect a used car to have...but their service department fixed them very quickly and perfectly. My last car I purchased at Auto City was a 2011 Chrysler 200 which had 54000 miles. I am still driving that car in the family and it currently has 218,000 miles. My son bought a Toyota Matrix and drove Uber for 3 years, trading it in with 230,000 miles. Another car bought was a Chevrolet Malibu that was purchased and is driving great with no problems and well over 100,000 miles. All of the cars we purchased had no problem other than an alternator, battery and minor things like that when cars reached over 160,000 miles, and this is to be expected. We never had any major issues with any car, and no problem until many miles later after purchase. My most recent purchase at Auto City took in to consideration that I was self-employed this time. Isaac Duran, the finance manager, did everything in his power to get financing with a lower interest rate, and he did it. All I can say is that if you go anywhere else, you will pay more, put up with weird sales games and miss out on an easy, positive experience in buying a car. And, to boot, they will stand by your car for 6 months, 6,000 miles along side the dealer warranty (they have a huge auto service department to ensure the cars they sell are good). They have always backed us up and made buying a car a positive, easy, confident and a no-risk transaction. Anywhere else I went to check, I always got the "weird-ar" pegging out. Very good, honest people and great cars, with no worries! This is a very positive review, but there is truly nothing I can complain about after buying all of our family cars there for years. Talk to salesperson Mike or Alex...they are both very helpful, friendly and know what they are doing. The sales manager is great and ensures everything goes quick, smooth and I get a good deal. read more

5+ stars! After combing thru countless ads for weeks, I was depressed over how few of the many used cars for sale out there are worth a second look. Then I ran across an ad from AutoCity. The car was within the year and price I range I was looking for. The price, in fact, was on the lower side of the KBB suggested range. I called and spoke to Alex. Satisfied with what I had read in the CarFax provided in their ad, I told Alex what I wanted from him was his assessment of the condition of the car. Alex asked me to hold on. He would rate it a 9, he said, when he came back on the line. Sure! I thought, how many used cars rate a 9?! However, when my son and I went to see it, we were truly surprised to find that Alex had not exaggerated. This was not an auction or multi-owner vehicle, it was a remarkably well taken care of one-owner car. Only when we actually saw the car did we realize that what I had assumed to be Toyota stock photos in the ad, in fact, were the actual photos of this car! No smoke-and-mirrors! Throughout our inspecting the car, Alex was helpful but not once pressured us, just patiently answered questions and gave us space, even when I decided I wanted to think about it overnight. We bought the car the next morning. The finance person was efficient and knowledgeable. We were offered a warranty and other options - although we declined each of these, not once were we pressured to purchase any of them!! The following day, I had a mechanic from Autodocs do a thorough examination of the car. After two hours of inspecting it: inside, outside, underneath, etc., the mechanic found just two items: a rear seat belt that would not latch and scratched rims (Alex had already scheduled for those to be to be taken care of). Everything else, the mechanic's written 2 1/2 page report states, is in excellent condition. The AutoCity staff treated us in a most professional, courteous manner and made this important purchase a very pleasant experience. We were, in fact, so impressed with the quality of the cars on their lot and the courteous, no-pressure treatment - as our family replaces cars, we definitely plan to contact Alex again! read more

I am writing this to let people know there is help after a financial crisis with this incredible company. I was given this company's name from a reputable resource. I did not think they could do anything for me-my Bankruptcy just closed on June 11, 2019 days earlier. I had switched jobs after taking 4 months off, and only had one weeks worth of pay. Yet they made it happen at a lower interest rate than I truly ever expected I originally picked out a 2015 SUV but after taking it home for 5 days and finding two minor issues I asked for them to look at the issues. They knew thought I was not completely happy with my choice of SUV and just offered me to pick a new SUV. I was completely floored. It was over the California legal limit of 3 days. They did not have to do this just because I had a funny feeling about two items that may have not in reality had anything wrong with them. I picked out my new SUV and they bought back my first SUV paperwork wise and the exchange and new buy out were done within ten minutes max. They only reason I had to wait was because they were doing a final inspection on my new SUV, they washed my new SUV and then they FILLED up my new SUV so I would not have to worry about putting gas in my car. They made sure I was qualified with a really reputable and good bank. They let me know where I was at all times in the processing of my loan. They told me when it finalized and then even checked in with me again to see if I still had any concerns about my new SUV. By the way I ended up with an even nicer SUV a 2016. I am amazed that all their pricing is very fair. These are not old beat up cars. They look brand new. They have a huge inventory and all the cars have really low miles and most have still dealership warranties. My car only had 31 thousand on it. The first SUV only had 30 thousand on it. Stan was awesome as was all the staff. Everyone helps each other at the store to make sure that I, the customer is taken care of every step of the way. Thank you so much Auto City for giving me faith in making the decision to buy a truly safe and affordable vehicle from you. You made in painless and all so easy read more

//Possible repeat, as didn't see first attempt post// My wife's 2006 Lexus has been struggling the last few months and visited the Lexus dealer several times at a tune of $1,500+ just to keep it running without every possible dashboard light being on and in our face about the car being sick. During the last visit the dealer basically said it's time to put it down. Let me clarify, the car not the wife. I am in a sticky financial situation that I needed a lender to work with me and understand the numbers. A friend recommended I contact Stan at Autocity in El Cajon. Although a bit nervous, we reached out and let Stan know our situation. I must say for the first time in four years it was like someone actually properly understood my situation and knew how to work with it. Stan said to go to their website and see if any of the cars would meet my wife's need for a 'nice' car. We picked out about three from the huge selection and notified Stan. Stan had us come in at our convenience (that night!) and test all of them. Stan introduced us to Mike who would be our salesperson throughout the experience. Talk about a patient, yet really knowledgeable person - Mike rocks! Let me tell you about the drive test at Autocity. They give you the car and ask that you bring it back. No salesman riding in the back pointing out things he thinks you should know about the car. Just some quality time between the car and you. Awesome experience. Unfortunately, the wife and I didn't like the proposed numbers on the great car we drove and decided to wait. Well a week later we checked the website and saw a 2017 Mercedes that was just begging my wife to drive it. We contacted Stan and asked him to run the numbers before we came in this time. He had the info back to us in 30 minutes and everything was in the right zone. We came in, met up with Mike again, and the wife fell in love with this car. Mike had the paperwork done in about an hour, while the detailing crew made sure that the delivery experience was top notch. Highly recommend this place and the entire team. They have made car buying comfortable and absolutely no pressure. read more

Had an awesome experience with this dealership. I found the car on auto trader and sent an email asking for information about the car. Jake responded to me very quickly and answered all my questions. I explained to him that I was interested in the car but was a little nervous about considering it because I live in Las Vegas and more times than not the pictures look better than the car in person. Jake said he would get someone to take an HD video of it but the guy had already gone home for the day. So, for the mean time, Jake made his own video just to give me a better idea if what I was looking at. I couldn't believe that because I was looking at another car in Arizona and the salesman didn't even think to do me that favor. The great customer service didn't even stop there. I was approved for a loan with my local credit union but had some issues with them wanting to FedEx the check after I purchased the car which would have meant me having to go to San Diego to buy the car then having to come back the next weekend to pick up the car once the check cleared. So, Jake talked to the finance manager, Ramil, and managed to match the rate my credit union offered. Then I confessed to Jake that although I was very interested in the Beetle, which was in amazing condition by the way, I was nervous to buy it because my mom has owned two beetles and I had previously owned one as well and they both were notorious for having problems. He informed me of their warranty plans and that was all I needed to make my decision. When we got there the car was just as it looked in the picture: beautiful. At one point, my dad noticed a small oil leak. Jake called the mechanic, Andrew, who had already gone home for the day, and asked him to fix what ended up to be a minor problem. Needless to say, I was very impressed by the service I received on all ends of my car buying process. I am very happy with my decision to go to San Diego and get my bug from Auto City SD. Thanks to everyone for all they did to help me get my car! read more

What can i say about Auto City Sales. This place is great for getting you into a fantastic reliable car. I had just purchased a 2013 ford fusion from here and i am very pleased with purchase. Let me start by saying that my overall experience working with Victor and the team has been great. They helped me every step of the way. I wanted to trade my old car in which was 2006 ford fusion that i was financing through another bank that was charging me high interest rates and unfortunately the car was upside down so i was paying more than the darn thing was worth (dont be too anxious without doing your homework first).I thought this would be a hard sell and situation to get out of, but when i went in and spoke with Victor about my situation and how can i get out this car and into a newer car, he was honest and upfront with and told me that i needed to come with a down payment at least half of the negative equity that was still owed on it in order for me to get out of that car and into a new car. He stayed on top of my situation and helped me every step of the way to the end and i was able to and i was able to come up with the down payment and he even got me a great low APR and monthly payment. (Happy Face). I just love my new car now. Theae guys are great at what they do, they will not lie you and try to just sell you a car. They care about you and want the best for you. If your in the market give them a chance and i promise you will not be disappointed. There cars are great quality and if you are not sure on a used car, they will let you take it to your mechanic if you have one and have your potential car checked out. I can not say enough about my experience working with them. Much better than the last dealerships i have worked with and i will be a customer for life. Hands down to Auto City Sales. Victor your awesome and thank you for everything. read more

First I had inquired for a Jeep Cherokee via USAA but then we changed our mind and Jose Martinez called me via phone for the inquired vehicle, but we no longer were interested. Jose offered me to take a look at his inventory via website and gave me advice to make sure the dealerships have the vehicle in stock, which also helped us save time and money. So upon ending our conversation I made a few calls and sure enough some of the cars we were interested in other dealerships weren't even for sale and they had an ad for sale. So we decided to go to Auto City and BOOM! right from the get go we were helped. The car detailers were nice and helpful. I requested for Jose Martinez. Our experience was superb. Their lot was huge and we saw many great cars!! Their prices are great. We test drove the Toyota Camry SE sedan we liked it. Jose was a unique Sales Rep, I have shopped at many dealerships and I have not came across a Sales Rep who doesn't hassle you and pressure you. Jose was that person he was genuine, nice, friendly, answered all of our questions and no pressure at all. Me and the wife decided to talk it out, Jose let us know that he would be there all day and sure enough we went back to close out the deal. Jose made our experience a good personalized one, he spoke to our kids and he talked about his kids and family as well, so we felt very welcomed by Jose. The transaction was smooth, I did have a few bumps due to being a first time user doing a loan through USAA and decided to get a loan thru the dealership instead. Thankfully Jose was really patient and had jokes too!! one of his jokes was " I can sell you a helicopter" due to not us not having any debt lol. Jose also thanked me for my military service, so for my fellow veterans out there give AutoCity and Jose a visit they are GREAT!! You wont be disappointed. read more

Some history to my story, my car broke down and I set a week for myself to find a reliable car, new used or new, pretty much whatever I could get. Mind it, my credit isn't the best and to be honest is in the lower tier. I researched various vehicles and narrowed my search down to one car which was on the lot at Auto City and another lot which I'd rather not say. I worked with Raquel via the internet on my loan getting approved. She took the time to call me about items which she thought might be issue with the lender and I was able to explain my situation, to which she was understanding. I was then turned over to Terry who kept the ball rolling. After informing me he would set something up, Terry called me back in about an hour with my loan information, payment, terms and everything. All I needed to do was come down, test drive the vehicle and provide the down payment. The problem was, I couldn't get out of work until the weekend and it was only Wednesday. Needless to say, Terry said they would hold the car till Friday when I could get over to Auto City. Friday comes and I have the best salesmen I could imagine great me at the door. His name was Damitri, a young dude, but he went through everything I could imagine to help me out. When I asked to hear the engine of similar cars, he didn't miss a step and got keys to several of the same brand cars and started them all up. A crazy request, but he had no issues with it. I test drove the vehicle and fell in love with her. Damitri was amazing and I would recommend you ask for him specifically if you visit Auto City. They even followed me to return my rental car. I was in and out in about an hour and Auto City provided me with nothing but great customer service and I didn't feel pressured to do anything. read more

I have to say Auto City definitely changed my views on the car buying experience. I had zero hassle, zero additional fees and was exactly what I discussed prior to getting there. My schedule is completely tight and couldn't spare any time to waste. I traveled over 40 miles and dropped another dealership because their hospitality and prices were both worth the additional effort. Specifically, I spoke to Nelli on the phone which i explained my circumstances. She was phenomenal, and transferred me over to her boss Frank who gave some extra reassurance in their hospitality and relentless effort to provide what I was asking. Time was of the essence, and they wasted none of it. I was having an issue with my financial institution, and because they work with them all the time, they handled it with flying colors. As I was in route I was gearing up for the expected battle ground, but was greeted with absolutely none of it. I met Nelli right away, and she makes you feel right at home, like you're a part of family. I then met Jessica who wanted to make sure that the car I picked out everything was okay, how did it ride, do you have any additional questions I can answer or concerns. She was also quick, courteous and efficient. Isaac was the last finishing touch on the total experience. I did my paperwork work and insurance through him. He explained things in a way you can easily understand, insured that I had insurance that was affordable, and could tell he goes the extra mile for who he meets. In all, I spent probably under 1.5 hours here which is really I had all to spare. This place has definitely earned their ratings and recognition. Thank you for making this a memorable experience. read more

I bought exceptionally good 2016 Honda Odyssey in Auto City. I was assured that the car has no issues and when I took it to an official dealership 3 days later they confirmed that there is nothing to do with the car and it's in a perfect condition. The staff there is so easy to communicate with, they behave like your friends and don't push hard on you. They did push a little on their extended warranty, so I had to listen for 20 minutes what it is and why I need it even though I previously said I don't need it, but it does not compare with the pressure in any official dealership, where they try to squeeze every single dollar out of you. Financial department there does need some improvement, because they are not willing to get you the lowest rate possible. Initially they gave me 5.99% interest rate with my Excellent credit score, I asked them to search better and in a minute they found 4.99%. I expected it to be around 4.0% or less, but they said there is nothing better. When I signed the contract I found out that the financial company is "Auto City Sales", not a bank or credit union, so they were extremely interested to keep the interest rate as high as possible, because it's their direct profit. Anyways, it's not a big deal. I like their website and high quality photos of the cars, free CarFax reports. The price you see there is what you will actually pay if you decline their extended warranty and KARR security system. Overall, I like my experience with Auto City very much. My personal recommendation goes to Alex - ask for him, he's really willing to find you the car you want for the price you need. read more

I didn't buy a car from Auto City Sales - WHAT A MISTAKE! For some reason I decided to go to a well known San Diego dealership and spend about $3,000 more than I would have at Auto City Sales. Prior to doing this I communicated with Ramil at Auto City by email as I was interested in a couple of their cars with low miles and awesome prices. Ramil was very kind and responsive to all my questions - and didn't pressure me like other salespeople from other dealerships did. I wound up going to another dealership to look at one of those "1 car only at this price" cars that was advertised in the Sunday paper - needless to say, I bought a used 2014 car (not the advertised car) from this "reputable" dealership and spent way more than I intended. Three months later I discovered body damage that I did not notice when I bought it, and guess what the "reputable" dealership could care less. They seem to have no knowledge of the damage even though there is paint overspray on the front windshield from the bad paint/bondo job they did to cover up the damage. Remembering how awesome Ramil at Auto City was, I emailed him and asked if he could provide me a Carfax on my car and he responded and sent it to me within minutes. WHY DIDN'T I BUY A CAR FROM AUTO CITY SALES??? Hopefully others will learn from my mistake and check out Auto City Sales (just look at all the "5 star" reviews) if they want AWESOME service and a great car. THANK YOU RAMIL FOR TAKING EXCEPTIONAL CARE OF ME EVEN THOUGH I DIDN'T BUY A CAR FROM YOU!!!! read more

Can't recommend the team at Auto City more highly. I never write reviews -- but am taking the time here, because these guys were great all the way around. My wife and I had identified the car we wanted to see, but had never heard about this dealership before. As soon as we walked in, the experience was downright enjoyable (which is virtually impossible to believe when buying a car). Sales manager Frank greeted us at the door -- and was incredibly helpful from moment 1 -- and extremely knowledgable about our car. Also, no pressure. None. Alfred in sales joined him to help finalize all the logistics of the sale, and he too was great. Helpful. Knowledgable. Got the car we wanted. At a good price. And, with great no-pressure people. But, here's the best part. They give a 3-day "no questions asked" return policy on the car. So, my wife and I decided that we were going to return the car because we realized we wanted it in a different color -- and had planned to go to another dealership outside the state (because it was the only one that had the color we wanted). I called Frank to tell him the news, and he said "absolutely, no worries -- we want you to be happy." He couldn't have been better about it. And then, you know what? My wife and I changed our minds again and kept the car we bought with Frank and Alfred at Auto City! Proof, once again, that good things happen to good people. These guys are good people. Recommend them highly. Very. read more

I am not a having funs to write reviews, its boring process, but I will spend some time and will write for AutoCity. But I do read reviews before I go to new places. I also was reading reviews here. Most of reviews here are super amazing. Some of them are negative, and I am sure most of those negative reviews are coming from the people who didn't get what they wanted, but I guess any place will have haters so here is my review for AutoCity. This place is real like a City, but City of the cars. They have a giant amount of cars there for any budget, some cars are still brand new with only few miles on it. I am shocked how they get all those cars. And their team is amazing, Ramil, Alex, Fareez and other guys will do everything to make sure you get a vehicle with no hassle and without any dirty games like at any traditional dealerships. So impressed and amazed. Let's go AutoCity. Oh by the way their coffee machine is another story, this machine is the best of the best, Starbucks compared to this machine is NOTHING. I can't even say how many exactly varieties that coffee machine has. Probably at least 20: latte, mocha, decaf, regular coffee, expresso, cappuccino, French vanilla cappuccino, hot chocolate... You name it... Oh and they even have their own fully equipped Service department... How they fit al this in that small building? Staff is very friendly there. I would highly recommend AutoCity to everyone. read more

I spent several months searching for the perfect Lexus IS 250C Convertible. Once I found this particular 250C, I contacted Auto City and was connected with Frank. Frank was very forth coming and open and honest about all the details of the car. Since I lived 6 hours from the dealership I really depended on the Dealer. Frank sent me pictures of different parts of the car so I knew everything about it. Originally I was not going to get this car, but Frank followed up and let me know about some cosmetic repairs they did to the vehicle and asked if I was still interested. I was and asked Frank to help me take the car to a mechanic to be checked over. I did not want to make a 6-8 hour journey for a car that was not in good condition. Frank took it to the mechanic for me and it checked out perfectly! Frank also helped me arrange transportation from the train station to dealership. Once at the dealership I worked with Chris to go over every detail of the car and deal. Chris was very knowledgeable and very courteous taking the time to answer all of my questions thoroughly. I was very happy with all of my service at AutoCity, I trusted them and knew I was walking away with a great car at a great price. I've even had good communication with the dealership since I left with the car, with them contacting me to check that everything is going well and that I'm happy. I would highly recommend this dealership. read more

My experience buying a car at Auto City Sales was very enjoyable. My wife and I had researched vehicles and taken a few test drives at other dealerships before hearing about Auto City Sales. We found a vehicle we were interested in on the USAA car buying service, so we went to Auto City Sales to see it. On the test drive we heard an unusual noise while accelerating. Our salesman was Jake Baier and his response was absolutely perfect. When we returned from the test drive Jake had his mechanics check out the vehicle. They were unable to discover the reason for the noise but they did notice a small oil leak which they fixed promptly (at no additional cost). Jake brought the vehicle to the Nissan dealership for an inspection (to figure out what the strange noise was). They discovered a problem with the transmission which they fixed under warranty. This took a few weeks during which Jake was in touch the entire time. He would call and update us every time there was a change in the situation. In the end we bought the car with several expensive repairs done for free! I can't thank Jake Baier enough for his honesty and help making this car buying experience an enjoyable one! I highly recommend Auto City Sales (and Jake Baier in particular) for their friendly professional attitude and reasonable prices. P.S. we even got Jake a gift card as gratitude for our excellent experience :) He was that good! read more

Stopped by on June 1st with my daughter to "browse" not intending to purchase right then and there because we still wanted to shop around, we had a bad experience in the past with previous car purchases elsewhere. As we were walking around browsing their great selection of cars, we were greeted by Reese. He asked if anyone had helped us yet and we said no, but it was fine because we were only looking. Well, the cars don't have prices listed on them, TIP: you see a car you like on the lot, & go on goautocity.com to view the listed price. Our phone batteries were too low to do that all day, so Reese helped us in looking for a car within our price range, he was extremely patient. Autocity's entire inventory no matter the price range was impressive, especially for a smaller dealership. My daughter didn't get the car she originally hoped for, but she still ended up with a pretty decent car for a great price. Reese stuck with us through the entire process (from us just browsing to signing the paperwork) oh and taking the car for a test drive, which was pretty cool. To summarize, this was the best car purchase experience we've ever had, thanks to Reese and the staff who worked with us with our trade-in and financing. Thank you so much to Reese for your AWESOME customer service and for being so entertaining and making us feel comfortable with our decision! My daughter is enjoying her car!! read more
