Horrible company, no respect for personal property, no communication. They were hired by xcel to trim neighborhood trees and they proceeded to break my fences by cutting tree limbs and letting them fall on them. Failing to contact me to move horses from pens they were cutting above, even though I've asked them to call me in advance numerous times, thus allowing trees to fall into their pen, breaking hot wire and scaring horses into fences causing injuries and broken fences. Cutting trees without permission on my neighbors property and leaving their limbs blocking my gate. All Colorado location numbers are disconnected, their online rating elsewhere is awful, my city department has had dozens of complaints regarding their poor service and communication. Cutting & so called trimming is brutal in the foothills. Trees that are 'trimmed' will eventually die becoming a fire hazard.

Worst company I have EVER dealt with. Period. Office manager Jeanette that answers the phone is so completely rude and unprofessional. They damaged our gutters, facia and my tenants property during an unscheduled tree trim and also left the tree trimming behind our neighbors fence and garage instead of removing it. When I called to discuss this calmly with Jeanette, she screamed at me and told me they should have "removed their crap" and hung up on me. Yes, had we known the company was going to show up unscheduled we may have asked the residents to make room but otherwise your company should have contacted us before just trampling over lawn furniture and gutters. See you court. This company is also contracted with Xcel for trim work....so I guess guaranteed business makes them void of common sense and customer service. Homeowner Beware! read more

The worst tree butchers ever!!!!!!!!Wright tree service butchered my 250 year old Ponderosa Pine by cutting off the top 20 feet of the trunk. The tree will now die. They also butchered multiple other trees on my property. Each time they lopped of the top of the trees which will probably kill each one. We will then be forced to remove the trees which will cost us thousands. They have also left the slash on my property. They obviously have no idea how to properly trim a tree. They are DISTRUCTIVE and incompetent. read more

Neglegence, Destruction of Property, and Theft. This company is not a tree service! They are butchers with chainsaws. We ignorantly allowed this company on our property as part of Xcels power-line clearance policy. We will NEVER make this mistake again. One of our trees (well over +20 years old) could now be part of a museum cut away exhibit. They literally cut every branch off of one side of the tree, one of which was nearly 6 inches in diameter and over 20 feet off the ground. If that branch had ever been a problem it would have been removed long before now. In addition to destroying our tree they broke several items on our property and it took them over 7 hours to do it all. We had also asked that they leave the wood they removed, as we use our fireplace in the winter months to help warm the house. They took nearly everything. I say nearly everything because our yard looked trashed with twigs, debris, and errant logs. I urge everyone with any complaints against this company to contact Xcel Energy and make sure they know how angry they're customers are. With luck at the very least they'll never contract this company again. read more

You can count on Wright's Tree Service to: - Butcher trees they never flagged in the first place - Throw their waste in the creek and in floodplains (that were restored after 2013 at a great expense to the federal and local government) and whine that it's because they don't have a chipper onsite and it's their supervisor's fault - Expect property owners to deal with their mess when they have been trimming for Xcel - Leave behind property damage to homes - Not even know whose property they are on - Behave unprofessionally in the field - Generally give zero f's about the quality of their service or relationship with the public. read more

Xcel recently sent out these guys to cut back from power lines after the bomb cyclone. Not only did we not receive ANY notice of this, they entered our back yard and chopped at LEAST 10-12 feet of our beautiful blue spruce off of the top across the main trunk of the tree. We came home from work to a decapitated tree and were absolutely horrified and EXTREMELY upset! The way they cut our tree is not only an eye sore, but it is costing us money out of our pockets to fix their mistake in hopes that our tree will survive. It is possible it will not survive. Angry is a vast understatement. I understand pruning away from wires and all, but do it right. Stop screwing people like this. It is not okay. read more

This company has contracts with Xcel to remove branches encroaching on Xcel wires. I contacted Xcel to look at a tree in the alley with branches growing between wires. The Wright Tree representative and I discussed what work would be done. Two branches approximately 18 inches long were torn , not cut, off the tree. Branches taken off were well below wires. I contacted Xcel to let them know that no branches near the wires were removed. The same representative from Wright Tree that submitted original work order to Xcel came to look at the tree. His words were. "These wires are not Xcel wires. They are communication wires . We don't cut branches under these wires" The next time Xcel request a rate increase from the PUC because their expenses have gone up I will think of this situation. I have notified Xcel of what happened and I hope they will do something about it. I am sure this is not first time Wright charged Xcel inappropriately. There are plenty of honest, reputable tree companies that would love to have the business and would do the job well. read more

We called Xcel Energy about an Ash tree close to our power lines after being advised by a tree trimmer that he could not remove the tree without safety mitigation. All the negative reviews are true I have a similar situation. I contacted Xcel back in October, I was getting trees trimmed and my tree trimmer couldn't trim two of my trees until Wright Tree Service who is contracted with Xcel, trimmed around the wires. Wright tree service said they will be out before Thanksgiving to do the work. I have called three or four times to both Wright and Xcel no response. Two weeks ago I come home to a note to call J.P. I called and left two voice mails with him and no response. This is horrible customer service. I spoke to my neighbor, an older lady who said they just left the branches where they lay, in the street and on the sidewalk. I understand they don't remove the branches but leaving them in the street or sidewalk is a huge safety concern. I realize that since they contract with Xcel I don't have a choice, however if you are looking for a tree trimmer or need tree work done, please avoid Wright Tree Service. There are plenty of other reliable companies who deserve your business. read more

1 star is too generous. This company contracts with our local utility/electricity provider to accomplish tree pruning around electrical wires when necessary. Our house receives power from lines that run along an alleyway, from pole-to-pole, behind the property. There is a tree with large branches growing directly around and through these pole-to-pole lines, so I contacted to utility company to have a 10 foot safety zone cut. I intend to have this tree completely removed, but no service providers will do this removal until the utility company first cuts the safety zone; private companies are not allowed to touch anything within this zone. Wright Tree Service was the utility contractor who arrived to do this safety zone work. Upon inspection, the crew expressed their ambivalence to doing any of the required work, trying to tell me they didn't really have to because it's a "secondary power line". After about 30 minutes, the crew left unannounced, and most of the tree is still in the power lines; they are required to cut a 10 foot radius, and there are still large branches two feet from the active power line. I called Wright again to question why they left without completing the work. They left me a voicemail in reply, stating that his boss went by the property to inspect the work and determined that they would not be doing any more of the required safety zone pruning, so he doesn't know what to tell me. I spoke to the electrical company on the phone twice regarding this contractor. Each time, the electrical company rep confirmed to me that the requirement is for a 10 foot safety zone to be cut around any power lines that run from pole to pole. So to summarize: I can't have this tree removed by a private company until a safety zone is cut. The contractor (Wright Tree Service) who arrived to cut the safety zone simply did not feel like doing the work, and claimed that they were not responsible to do so. read more

Absolutely TERRIBLE! From the people in the field to the person that answers the phone! RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL! I don't know how they are still in business. Maybe partially because they have a contract with Xcel Energy to trim and cut down trees. For them being in the tree business, they sure don't know how to trim a tree. They "butcher", but do not trim. Shouldn't a tree trimming business have some skill and take pride in their work? They also left a mess for me to clean up in two different areas. They showed up early in the morning with NO notification, and when we told them we had not been notified by either Xcel or Wright's, they said "it was their right to be in our yard", and would not leave! NO! You have some access because of the power lines, but I am the property owner and there are procedures you must comply with to be in my yard. They also blocked my two car driveway twice in the same morning, after all the earlier debacle. After reading dozens of horrible reviews I am dumbfounded as to how they are in business. read more
