Stellar service when it comes to a tricky and potentially dangerous business. We used the 2 years ago for an emergency cleanup of a tree that broke in high wind and landed on an adjacent tree and damaged it. They did the immediate cleanup up and came back for the large removal project. It could not have gone better. Fast forward 2 years and we needed to remove our last 2 conifers for wildfire mitigation in a high risk neighborhood. I called them back as I feel they are the best arborists around. Locally owned and staffed. The set up for the project went well, the timing perfect for summer between the move out of last year's students and the arrival for the upcoming year. The house closest to the tree is the house next to ours which is student rental home for CU off campus housing. When they are between summer moves , there are fewer parking issues as well as not interfering with their lifestyle. The team came this morning m, right in time, having procured the no parking signs for such work and having the utilities locators done in advance. The work when exceeding well, removing the already broken spruce and the aging and badly place piñon pine, too close to our house. The team of arborists were amazing. I would certainly use them again if I could but I am out of trees that will ever need removals. Call this place first if you are ever in need. In Colorado, we are facing terrible wildfire risks and all communities will need evaluation. In this area, Blue River can't be beat. read more

We had a 30-foot tree come down on our car... the team came quickly and did an amazing job of freeing the car and removing the tree. I luckily haven't needed a service like this before, so I don't have a ton of experience, but these guys are an easy recommend. read more

QUOTED FROM THE ISO STANDARD FOR ARBORIST: Crown Cleaning Crown Cleaning involves removal of dead, diseased, broken, hanging, and crossed or rubbing limbs. When two limbs cross and begin to rub, the friction frequently kills one or both limbs, so removing one will protect the other. We classify crown cleaning work using a range of 1-4: Class 1: Pruning from the ground with hand pruners and/or hand saws. Class 1 mostly includes shrub maintenance and trimming some low growing ornamental trees. Class 2: Pruning from a step ladder with hand pruners, chainsaw and/or polesaw. Most ornamentals and many shade trees can be trimmed to the customer's satisfaction in Class 2 job. Class 3: Pruning from aerial bucket truck or lift. Class 3 is recommended for proper care of mature trees and can completely cover many of the smaller shade trees and larger ornamental/fruit trees. Class 2-4: Pruning using possible combination of climbing and other methods. Some amount of climbing may need to be utilized depending on the tree. Class 4: Pruning using non-invasive tree climbing equipment and techniques. Our expertly trained tree climbers do not use climbing spikes, so we can trim even your largest and hardest to reach trees safely! For additional safety, the Cutting Edge Tree Services crew is trained in first aid/CPR as well as aerial rescue. read more

Just finished removing and grinding a tree from my front yard. Scheduling was fast and easy. Great price, only took a couple hours and everyone spoke English. Highly recommend read more

They do great tree work. They quoted me 3.5 hours to chip a few branch piles around the yard I had saved up. I moved the piles to the driveway. The chipper ran for 8 minutes 4 while people swarmed on chipping the branches. After, a couple workers swept up the driveway. I was billed 2.5 hours (37.5 min x 4?) I complained and they knocked off an hour (now 1.5 HR or 22.5 min x 4) It's closer to what I observed, but still generously rounding up. I'm bummed because I'll miss their quality, but now I need to look for a tree service that I can trust with billing. read more

We would highly recommend the team at Blue River to anyone. We had a huge, old elm that had to come down. When we requested a quote we were forewarned the lead time was two months. But the job took place exactly on the day we scheduled. The office was organized and responsive. The morning of the job Mark showed up in his vehicle a few minutes ahead of the team. We reviewed the job as the others arrived. They used a bucket/boom truck, a chipper truck and a haul away truck. All the equipment is in great shape. The job was done quickly and they left the yard cleaner than it was when they arrived. A professional crew that knows their trade very well. Thanks everyone. Gary & Steph read more

Competitive pricing. Did a great job with my elms - they kept the shape but gave them a good clean up. Also the crew was nice. See the before and after pics. read more

I am SO thankful for Blue River! They did an amazing job with an extremely complex situation. We had a half-dead 30+ year old Cottonwood tree in our back yard. They used such care when removing our tree and I couldn't be more pleased. This enormous tree was hanging over our house and our neighbors. Professional, on time, fair pricing and honest. When many other businesses in this industry are shady and ill equipped Blue River stands out from the crowd! Unhappy with their service for how they didn't clean the street area, and denying damage they caused in the process. Great in the trees.

Dustin and his crew literally stunned us with their fast, professional removal of a 2.5 story pine tree that fell onto our garage in 100 mph winds. Both of our cars were trapped under the tree. A monster crane arrived to lift the tree's crown while the crew cut the main trunk. Then the crane lifted that tree up and over our heads to a safe spot, and the crew had it chopped and loaded in less than half an hour. Truly excellent service. They cleaned up every branch. Both our cars and our garage came out unscathed! Call them for any arbor work you have. Five star service! http://bluerivertreecare.com/about/ Here are photos of the removal: http://www.barbarakrichardson.com/1/post/2012/01/save-the-last-dance-for-tree.html read more

Great crew from the front office to the tree removal and stump grinding crews! The arborist was very helpful and the company owns its own equipment and is on time and does exactly what they say there are going to do. Our neighbors referred them to us and we are very pleased with their work. Chole R. read more

We got a few estimates for removal of a very large Russian Olive in the front yard of our house in Niwot, Colorado. Blue River happened to be the most inexpensive but it was their excellent customer service that impressed me the most. From the office staff (I think I dealt with Brandi - I hope I got that right it's been a few months) to the crew that came out - I could not have asked for a better experience. The process went smoothly and professionally. Thanks for a great experience. read more

Dustin and Brandy run a great shop. They gave me a fair quote for removal of a dead tree and branch trimming. Their crew (Levi, Zack, Justin) were professional and polite. The guys were a marvel to watch. The job was finished quickly and in good order. They answered my questions before starting and made sure that plants and furniture were moved to ensure no damage. They cleaned up all debris and put everything back as it was before they started. I will definitely use them again for any future tree work. read more

Blue River has worked on a couple of properties for me and they have done a wonderful job in each instance. Their staff are very friendly, incredibly knowledgeable and always reliable. Each job has been done on time, for the amount quoted and to my complete satisfaction. I especially appreciate their focus on natural fertilizers as opposed to dumping more chemicals in the ground. They have my highest recommendation. read more

This company is tops. Best price I got to cut down two big trees and their work was beyond excellent. Then I had them out to plow a large parking area after a recent big snow and once again I couldn't be more satisfied. Don't hesitate to use them. OK read more

Blue River recently trimmed a very large tree in our front yard. They were very professional and did a great job improving the look of the tree. They were about $100 less than another company who bid on the job. They carry insurance and have a professional arborist do the trimming. They worked quickly and cleaned up the area very well. At our request, they even removed a few "volunteer" trees at no additional charge. read more

Blue River Forestry did a great job of trimming our large ash tree that was encroaching on our neighbor's property. The crew also took time to clean up all branches etc. that had littered the ground. We had no trouble getting an estimate (very reasonable), but it did take them about 6 weeks to get around to the job. So be patient! read more
