I decided to build up a frame by myself this summer, and went to a different shop that gave me pretty cheap stuff (and to be fair charged very little for it), most of which didn't really fit, and they didn't grease/lube anything that they put on. Being a super beginner, I didn't really know what I was buying until I started working on it and found how poorly things were fitting. I basically had to start over from scratch. Instead of going back to that shop, I went to Wright Bros, and I'm over the moon with how great they were. Charles was AMAZING! He fitted new wheels (changed the hubs), sold me an 8-speed cassette and put it on for me, stretched my frame for me, found me a used derailleur, and let me use his stuff to clean it out (even though they don't sell used stuff!), helped me measure the front and rear cog alignment, and figured out I needed a new bottom bracket, installed it for me, all the while letting me watch and learn! Not only was he super patient and helpful-- he kept working on my bike with me until 6pm! An hour after they close! Barely charged me for labor, and all items were priced very fairly. What's more, they have an amazing holiday sale with 25% off, he figured out I saved like $85! Bottom line: I'll never go anywhere else, I got the best help here, and learned so much. One of the best bike repair shops in Seattle. A real bicycle repair shop that can fix most anything that is fixable as well as replace and or build anything you need. (My words not theirs. I am assuming, so don't hold them to it.lol) Knowledgeable, Friendly, Honest and Fair! My first trip into the shop was to see if they could locate a replacement derailleur hanger for my 13 yo Novara MTB bike. I received a call from Charles the next day saying it was ordered and on it's way. This is after I had visited REI, the OEM retailer, who failed to be able to produce one at all. ** REI, called 3 weeks after I had purchased the derailleur hanger from Wright Bro's to inform me that they had continued searching and still could not obtain the part. Wow! lol! Not saying REI is bad, just that Wright Bro's is that good. I shall not forget to mention the $40 lifetime membership they offer which enables you to use the mechanics work station containing everything you need to build, service or repair your own human powered vehicle! The shop is a true mechanics shop literally packed to the rafters with bikes, frames, wheels, parts and accessories your not soon to fund any where else. Rock on Wright Bro's! read more

From replacing a worn chainring to fixing a sticky front brake and wrapping new tape on the handlebars, Charles at Wright Bros. Cycle Works got my ten-year-old Raleigh One Way riding like a dream again. Charles is an expert and a perfectionist: His advice that I adjust the gearing slightly makes a big difference over the Dexter grade; he reworked the front brake three times, because after the first two it still wasn't smooth enough to meet his high standards. Charles is also a fair, honest businessperson. As he worked on the overhaul of my bike, he texted me several times to make sure I approved of the equipment decisions he was making and was informed about the costs of the work. It's worth adding that the shop itself is an amazing place; there's evidence of a life devoted to bicycling and cyclists in every nook and cranny of this place. What can I say...Drove across Washington from my home in Idaho, to get my new over the internet track frame fitted and built up for me so I could race it the next two days up in Vancouver, BC...Had a new bottom bracket put in, chainring-sproket aligned with sproket change, new 650mm wheel built by Devon on the spot for me, new stem/handlebar configuration. They literally put everything on hold and worked on 'me' and my bike for 3.5 hours. Will you find better service ANYWHERE? no way. Will you find friendlier guys in CHARLES and DEVON? no way .Will you find better/know what they're doing mechanics ANYWHERE? no way . This shop and these guys don't get 5 stars...they get 10 stars in my book. Beyond awesome !!! read more

I've been coming to Wright Brother's, since I was in college and that was a long time ago before there were as many bike shops as there are today and it's still my favorite. From hard to find old Campagnolo brifter lever internal parts to making an old Klein frame internal brake boss that had failed work again with completely different modern parts to installing a crankset at the last minute on a Friday night before a big ride on Saturday, Charles and the crew have been there decade after decade to bail my a$$ out every time. If you ride a bike, do yourself a favor and visit this shop. Community bike stands, truing stands, and tools in great condition. I'll say that again; great condition. Charles, the owner of the shop, has a wealth of knowledge, even invented a stronger lacing pattern for wheel building, and teaches classes regularly on the subject. I'm a thrasher on wheels and none have stood up to my abuse better than my double-laced Chuckers, which I built using his method. Great parts always available in shop for fair prices. I bike a lot and I don't spend too much time cleaning my bike so my wheels get a little beaten up, that being said I have to get wheels that can take a beating and keep rolling so my wheel maker in shining armor is no other than Charles, he makes the best wheels at the best price.
