The fried ravioli appetizer was a huge hit too, including with our non-vegan friends (the whole restaurant is plant based). I'm determined to try their pizzas next. Plus the service is super attentive and helpful. The atmosphere is cute too, they really do it up for Halloween! And it's in Fell's so it's pretty central and a fun neighborhood to walk around before or after.

We ordered the Shrimp Scampi knowing full well it was a Vegan dish and I was expecting some sort of "wow" factor on the plant substituted shrimp -- which I did not get. I do not, indeed, see food differently after leaving. Service and ambience were otherwise good. We saw the Industry Mondays deal on $10 "Classic" cocktails and therefore ordered two Oleum Classic cocktails, one Tiramisu Martini and the other, my partner's choice, Cinder & Sumac. We did not get the deal on Classic cocktails ordering from the Oleum Classics -- which is really what inspired me to review the place with a star knocked off. I must specify in this review I am not, nor were my party members, Vegan or Vegetarian -- so we are not the target audience for this establishment. Five stars drinks.

My Mamas Vegan is an excellent Black Owned/Woman Owned/vegan restaurant located in Baltimore…read more I pre-ordered the Super Bowl Slider Platter from My Mamas Vegan. Pre order was easy, I did it all via my phone a couple of weeks in advance. Pickup was also super easy, I found parking right on the street, went in, and had my food all in my hands in less than ten minutes. The slider tray consisted of 10 Sliders. There were two each of Meatball Parm, French Onion Melt, Cheeseburger Cheesesteak, BBQ Jackfruit and Oyster Chick'n. All of them were well done, held up in transit and tasted good as leftovers. That being said, the BBQ Jackfruit were my favorite. If you ever have the chance to get your hands on her BBQ Jackfruit, definitely do it! The sliders came with three sides: a container of Bourbon Baked Beans, Traditional Mac Salad and Chips and Chili Queso These were also well done. Price wise, My Mamas Vegan seemed comparable to other vegan places in the area. I think the slider tray cost about 40 dollars and I, eating everything myself, had leftovers for days. The menu is constantly rotating. Follow their Instagram page where they list their weekly menu as well as specials and pop ups that are running or will be coming up.

Wish I could have purchased half the size and added another food item because I wanted to try more, but you know how those vegan prices are... Street parking is available. It was great to see vegan dessert is offered and meal prep grab n go items were available too. This is a carryout place, not a sit down and eat restaurant. Inside is small and basic

I decided to stop in R House to get some food. I wanted something that was more on the fresh side…read moreso I decided to go with Koshary Corner. I can't speak on the customer service because I didn't talk to anyone. I ordered at the kiosk and they called my number and that was it. I paid $19.45 for my meal. I order a side of falafels (3) and the street bowl with beef flank, tzatziki, and mild red pepper sauce. The falafels were way too crispy. I feel like compared to other falafels I've tried these were on the hard side. Thankfully I had some tzatziki sauce to dip them in, if I didn't, they would have been a little hard to eat. The flavor was okay but the texture was not appealing. I really wanted to get beef shawarma but they were out so I opted for the beef flank. I wish I would have just gotten chicken instead. The bowl came with rice and a lettuce salad that was underneath the beef. I'm not sure if the lettuce had arugula in it as well, but the lettuce gave sort of a bitter taste which I did not care for at all. Did not taste good so I would add a lot of tzatziki sauce to it to cut down on the bitter taste. The beef was okay, nothing to rave about. I was just very underwhelmed with my food. Not sure if I would give it a try again. If so, I would definitely get something else or build my own bowl maybe. Try it for yourself and see how you like it.

I've been following them on Instagram for a while and drooling over their posts LOL. I finally was in the area and came by. First of all, I had a hard time choosing my meal. I wanted to try everything LOL. I decided on the Mac black bean burger with a side of fries($20). I see why their Mac is award-winning. I forgot it was vegan for a second! So delicious and creamy. The black bean burger was seasoned VERY well and cooked perfectly. Most black bean burgers get messy and fall apart, this one didn't. Fries were great as well, perfect amount of salt. -Customer service was amazing. Cashier was laughing with me cause I was one of the 10000 people who couldn't find the entrance LOL. -Restaurant was clean and well stocked. Music playlist was fire! -Entrance is kind of hard to find. You enter on Franklin Street. Can't wait to come back and try more items! Hope you enjoy!

I love this place and come here whenever I'm in town!…read more You order using the kiosk they have inside and they'll call your name when it's ready. It's never too busy when I go, so the wait is never any longer than 15 minutes. I recommend the Mac n Cheese burger, the drummies, and the cauliflower bites. My favorite thing is ordering buffalo chicken drummies and adding them to the mac n cheese to make buffalo mac! They should add it as a menu item cause it's bomb. I wouldn't recommend the desserts, a little too hard and too sweet for my liking. This is definitely one of my favorite vegan spots in MD !

From crab cakes, chick'n curry (not pictured), and vish sandwich the textures did a good job mimicking their counterparts. For sides, we understand why people recommend the mac & cheese. I ended up getting a fantastic four smoothie which has mango, pineapple, and banana. It tasted really delicious and tropical! I think they use mango juice from concentrate but the fruit all looked like it was fresh/frozen. The sandwiches seem a little expensive but they appear pretty large from the other customer I saw who got them!

Vibe: restaurant is cute Service: friendly and a little slow, we were only 2 people in restaurant and our order took quite some time Overall, decent food, skip the drinks and dessert. Adorable and quirky cafe that is 100% worth all the hype, the long waits, and the hard-to-snag…read morereservations. I visited Golden West Cafe on a Sunday afternoon with a moderately large group (7 people). We were originally hoping for a brunch reservation but could only snag a 3 PM slot -- a testament to how incredibly popular they are -- although we ended up being ready at 2 PM and called ahead to ask if they could seat us earlier. They, very graciously, were able to make space for us to come a tad earlier. The food was absolutely incredible -- it was some combination of American comfort and Mexican / Latin American, with classic Mexican items like huevos ranchos, fish tacos, and enchiladas right next to traditional American brunch selections like chicken and waffles, hot cakes, and so forth. Their menu is also remarkably vegetarian / vegan-friendly, and it features their own house-made vegan chicken! We decided to split a few items, including the zucchini brie hot cakes, fish tacos, and vegan hot honey chicken and waffles. All three were outstanding, but my favorite had to be the zucchini brie hot cakes. The cakes were remarkably soft and fluffy, and I loved the bit of sweetness from the zucchini (and maple syrup, of course), and the extra hit of rich creaminess and savoriness from the brie. It was the perfect sweet and savory combo, and it was easily one of the biggest surprises of the meal. The rest of the items were also delicious, although not quite as wowing. The fish tacos were well-fried and flavorful, and I was quite impressed by how crispy and thin their accompanying fries were. I really enjoyed the flavor of the hot honey vegan chicken and waffles, but I was, admittedly, a little bit thrown off by the texture of both. It's very possible that the waffle had just gotten a bit soggy because I ate this dish last and it wasn't quite at its peak freshness. Either way, I really enjoyed my time here, and it's 100% worth I try. I can't wait to make my way back to Hampden to sample the rest of their menu!
