We attended an event at the fairgrounds, and decided to order takeout to pick up after the event…read more We were absolutely blown away by the taste and quality of our food. We got... Butter chicken (Chicken Makhani): tender Chicken Cooked in a Creamy, Buttery Tomato Gravy with Mild Spices. Smooth, Rich and Flavorful. $13.99 --- Jeremy, who can be pretty picky about... well everything... hogged this to himself. It looked and smelled delicious. I may have some of the leftovers tonight for dinner, if I'm lucky. Butter Chicken Pizza: A Rich and Savory Fusion Topped with Creamy Butter Chicken, Mozzarella Cheese and a Hint of Indian Spices on a Golden Baked Crust. $16.99+ --- WOW!!! just amazing. Great, crisp crust. Tender Chicken. A side cup of butter chicken sauce. This is the item that won my heart. Tandoori Shrimp: jumbo shrimps marinated with yogurt, ginger, garlic & Indian spice $18.99 --- delicious... we received two mystery sauces: one an herbaceous slightly spicy green, the other a dark purple with a flavor that reminded me of plums or raisins. I don't know if these were meant for the shrimp, but I really liked the flavor combination of the shrimp with the purple sauce. I only got one though, cuz Jeremy housed them before I could snag a second. Tandoori Chicken: Chicken on bone marinated overnight in yogurt & spice roasted in a tandoor a cylindrical oven $13.99 --- best tandoori chicken I have ever had in my life. So tender, not at all dried out, perfect char flavor. White rice spiced white clove.... didn't open them with the meal but looking forward to having them later. A really spectacular meal. Looking forward to returning in the future.

Despite selecting the lowest spice level, some dishes were almost impossible to eat because they were simply too spicy. The curry was especially disappointing. It was not only far too spicy for the lowest spice level, but also quite salty, which made it difficult to actually enjoy. What a shame when you are looking forward to a dish and the spice level overwhelms everything else. The Chicken 65 was just okay and, again, much too spicy for the lowest setting. The batter also completely fell off the chicken, which made the dish feel rather pointless. The lamb had the same issue with the spice level. The butter chicken, however, was good. It was actually the first dish where it felt like the chef paid attention to the spice level we selected. We also tried the chicken masala pizza. The pizza itself was decent, but the chicken on top was disappointing. It was very rubbery and tasted almost like chicken from a previous day that had been reused on the pizza as an afterthought. Overall, there is definitely potential here, and some of the food was good. But the experience could have been much better simply by respecting the requested spice level and paying more attention to the quality and preparation of the chicken. When a customer selects the lowest spice level, the food shouldn't be so spicy that they can't enjoy it.

Pleasantly pleased with my first Persian experience…read more Just off Joppa Road no the eastern edge of Towson is a massive complex built just for shops. In the sea of massage parlors, tanning salons, and laundromats is a Orchard Market & Cafe, serving up authentic Persian cuisine for 35+ years and counting. Had the fam visiting sis in nearby Pikesville. When we come down she always picks somewhere off the beaten path, something unique. This visit was no exception. Having never tried Persian food, I was excited to try something completely new. In this case, it was new yet also familiar. It's kind of like a mix between Indian and Mediterranean. You've got your assortment of stews and grilled meats infused with saffron, cardamom, and turmeric served of course with a side of basmati rice. The Mediterranean influence can be seen in their homemade hummus and use of fresh fruit and vegetables. There is perhaps no better example than the Mango Pear Salad with cucumbers, tomatoes, mango, pear, Bulgarian feta and pomegranate vinaigrette. If you're feeling up for some true Persian fusion, you can't go wrong with Spicy Kermani Beef, which features succulent filet mignon sauteed with mushrooms and pepperoncinis in a zesty tomato garlic curry sauce. Everything in that brief description is right up my alley, and usurpingly the meal did not disappoint. Service was on point from start to finish, the finish being a tall glass of Persian saffron ice cream. Now this was truly a first for me, as I've never had anything like this in my life. The taste can be described as earthy, slightly floral and very aromatic. Rosewater adds the floral notes, while the saffron gives it the signature golden-yellow color and luxurious scent. Definitely a one-of-a-kind flavor that I highly suggest trying. The dining room is cozy with some neat pieces of art resembling ancient Middle Eastern artifacts adorning the walls. All in all I'm glad we got to try cuisine that doesn't have much representation in this neck of the woods.

A magical takeout spot that exclusively caters to the late night party-goer…read more I have lived near KERB for over 3 years, constantly walking by it, but never seeing it open. Last weekend, I broke my normal habit of staying in by hitting the outdoor bars until 2am. On my way back, I smelled a wonderful aroma coming from KERB with a group of drunken patrons picking up orders. So, out of curiosity and excitement, I went inside. First thing about KERB are the two people who run the place, both the cashier and chef. These people are a joy to talk to and are experts in conversing with the inebriated. Second thing about KERB is that the menu is tailor made for people of the "non-sober" persuasion. You have a mix of American, Mexican, and Mediterranean food on the menu, only missing pizza for the ultimate drunk menu. You also have weird hybrid dishes that sound like they were conceived by a madman, and were the focus of my trip. I ordered a BBQ Quesadilla, stuffed with BBQ chicken and cheese, dripping with sweet and smokey sauce. But the kicker is the side of Greek Yogurt served along side it, making the entire dish an American Greek take on a Mexican dish. It was fantastic. I also ordered a Philly Cheesesteak sandwich that was piled high with shredded beef, but also had a fried chicken tender nuzzled inside and coated with marinara sauce and spinach, giving this American sandwich some Italian flair. I enjoyed both dishes immensely at home, woke up the next morning as if I came out of a dream, thinking that the food was just a hallucinations brought by one too many drinks. Then I opened my fridge and found the leftovers, which were just as delicious as I remembered. So yes, KERB has some weird hours, typically being opened between 11pm and 2:30am. But if it's late at night, KERB has the delicious junk food to fill your need. I plan on making KERB my go-to late night spot the next time I'm feeling tipsy.

I attended a wedding celebration there on Thursday and am happy to report I was wrong. The staff was professional and welcoming. It was pretty chaotic with people randomly showing up. They took it all in stride. We were offered water and drinks immediately as we waited for the bride and groom. While we had a "set" menu, every option sounded delicious. Finally the happy couple joined us and we could order for real! I doubled down ordering both hot crab dip and crab cakes. Hot rolls. Yes and they were fantastic. The dip was good. Our servers brought out to go containers almost immediately. It wasn't possible to eat all the food available. I ordered a blue margarita. Strong and yummy. Tasted the crab cake which was good as well. The broccoli seemed an afterthought. Cooked well but NO SEASONING! Who does that? All in all it was a wonderful celebration with family and friends. I'll be back to finish exploring the menus!

I ended up standing in a chaotic line and when I got up there she wasn't taking the time to understand where my order was. She told me it wasn't ready and when I asked her how that was possible she then turned around a grabbed my order off the rack that was there 30 seconds before when she told me it wasn't ready. I wasn't too upset because it happens, but then she went out of her way to tell me that I could've gotten my large pizza with 2 drinks for the same price as my pizza and the one drink i got that ended up costing me more for being a dumbass. Then she was like "Go get your ONE soda" I'd rather you not tell me about the special then tell me i essentially paid a dollar more to end up with one drink when I could've had two. I would've loved that can but I couldn't swing it. Just annoying. The nice thing to do would be to tell me to grab two since I clearly wasn't aware of the deal and paid $13.44 for a large pizza and a can soda when for 12.99 i could've had 2 sodas with my large pizza.
