The company (World Flooring in El Cajon) that was sent by LL Flooring was NOT experienced. The installers did not know the BASICS of putting in a solid hardwood glue-down floor.
When they first came for Installation on February 28, 2022, they installed the whole floor with the wrong tool! The entire floor was hollow so they had to rip it all out and start over from scratch.
World Flooring bought more flooring but sent the same inexperienced guys to do the floor again in April 2022. There were many hollow areas AGAIN! They had to come back and rip out certain areas and start over. They also had to do glue injections to save them from ripping out most of the floor again.
This lasted for a bit, but then boards started separating which left obvious gaps between boards and then in the dining area; the floor was completely bowed and my furniture was half up in the air.
They came back and redid that area and more glue injections throughout.. They had put the flooring too close to the wall w/out leaving sufficient room for expansion! They had to undercut the walls to prevent them from having to redo the entire floor again.
They missed some areas of undercutting because they were too lazy to move my furniture, so of course the new issue is that the part underneath my furniture that they didn't move did not get undercut so it also bowed due to being too close to the wall!
This recent time, I tried to get Mike to come out and called the store weekly for over a month. He finally texted me. Mike came out on May 16th 2024 (more than a month after my first call about this issue!) He looked for 5 minutes. Didn't really inspect the area much, and then left. He knew that the installation was an ongoing issue. My husband did end up taking out the bowed flooring part because the pressure was so strong that it was splitting our wall seam and pushing further to more parts of the flooring as well as it being a hazard to my kids and guests. Half our furniture was up in the air again. Since it took Mike so long to come out, my husband had to remove that section due to it damaging more flooring, our walls and being a ha?and to our kids. This is the same issue that happened before. He said he would let me know if they would redo that area.
When I called him Monday-Thursday- no answer. Finally, that Thursday afternoon he texted that they declined to do it!
He wouldn't call me back and I even went into the store and the guy that I talked to there left a note for Mike to call me and no call. I have called the store many times for Mike or for some manager to call me and they have left me high and dry and don't want to take responsibility for their shoddy installation that keeps failing every few months.
I kept giving World Flooring the benefit of the doubt to fix the flooring issues every time there was a gap, buckling, etc. Every time, they checked with a moisture meter, took a piece of the flooring to inspect further, etc. They always came to the conclusion that everything on our end was within spec so it ended up being their fault every single time and they would take care of it.
They made good the first several times but this most recent time they don't want to take responsibility even though they know they are at fault. They kept sending the SAME inexperienced installers to fix the flooring issues and lo and behold, the floor would have issues every few months.
Our house has been under construction for 2 years! It's ridiculous and we can never get comfortable in our own home due to this. World Flooring has come out to our home for reinstallations, fixes, glue injections, etc 17 times!! This is unacceptable over a 2 year period! These floors are supposed to survive up to 50 years IF installed properly!
I finally contacted LL flooring corporate in June 2024 and they instructed World Flooring to fix the most recent area. Long story short, they were supposed to come Oct 7, 2024 to do the install and they ended up canceling saying that LL Flooring is in bankruptcy and won't pay them to fix the job that THEY (world flooring) did incorrectly in the first place!! They are a terrible company!! I am shocked they were even expecting payment when they sent the shoddy installers in the first place.
I had to then pay out of pocket because world flooring doesn't take responsibility for their wrongdoings. They don't return calls or care about the customer. They only care about getting the job done quickly even if the work is done improperly. This most recent installer I used said that the prep work from the previous installers wasn't done correctly. They didn't grind down the concrete enough and in turn that has been causing the floor to come up and all of the self leveler has come up too. World flooring is literally the worst company I have ever had the displeasure of working with. They try anything and everything to not take responsibility. read more
