As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by wonderful staff members. I came here because my doctor recommended that I go there to get shoes specifically for my plantar fasciitis. There is a machine that will scan your feet as you stand on top of it. Then a little pathway where you walk back and forth and the machine will map the way you walk. This will also tell you your suggested shoe size and what would work best for you. As one of the staff members went in the back to bring out a few shoes for me to try on, another gentleman, Christopher, assisted my husband. After all that I've tried on, I asked if they had any non-slip shoes, which they did, but they had to order them for me. Their customer service and attentiveness with their guests are extremely friendly and loved that they listened to us and what we were looking for. They also give recommendations to help with any achy feet (rolling balls, socks, bands, etc.) These shoes are not cheap, they are $$$ each. My podiatrist gave me a referral which took 10% off my shoe order, but you will need to go to your foot doctor for that one. We went home with 2 pairs each, and some socks.

Fleet Feet Long Beach: The Shoe-Fitting Revolution I Didn't Know I Needed!…read more Hands down, my visit to Fleet Feet in Long Beach was the best shoe-buying experience I've ever had. As someone who's notoriously picky about shoes--usually spotting something online and grabbing it without a second thought--I walked in skeptical but left feeling like a total convert. The store's got that welcoming, runner's paradise vibe, with knowledgeable staff buzzing around like they live and breathe footwear (which, let's be real, they probably do). Shoutout to Antonio, my outfitter extraordinaire--he was endlessly patient, taking time to break down every option without a hint of rush. I've never tried on so many pairs in one go (we're talking double digits!), but he made it fun and educational. Normally, I'd bounce after one or two mismatches, but Antonio explained why it mattered: the "feel" I was chasing (cushioned yet responsive for my daily miles) required understanding how each shoe interacts with my unique gait. He walked me through their signature fit process--a game-changing 3D foot scanning system paired with dynamic pressure mapping. It's like a high-tech foot X-ray: you step onto a platform that captures precise measurements of your foot length, width, arch height, and even volume, then analyzes your stride as you walk (or "run" in place). This data reveals things like pronation patterns--whether your foot rolls inward too much (overpronation) or stays neutral--and flags potential wear spots on your current shoes. They emailed me a full profile afterward, and suddenly it clicked why my old pairs always broke down unevenly on the outsides. Mind. Blown. If you've ever wondered why your feet hurt after longs walks (10k+ steps) or a run, this is the secret sauce--science-backed fitting that ensures your shoes support YOU, not just look good on the shelf. The whole team was meticulous; every staffer I saw was dialed in on shoe specs, from stack heights to drop measurements. Antonio's encyclopedic knowledge blew me away--he could rattle off why a certain midsole foam excels for road vs. trail without missing a beat. It's not pushy sales; it's genuine expertise that makes you trust the recommendation. And the payoff? My first pair of Saucony (They've been around 100 years!?!). I'm not exaggerating: these are the most comfortable shoes I've worn in years. Plush cushioning that feels like walking on clouds, but with enough energy return to keep my walks and jogs or runs (haven't ran in years due to bad knees) peppy. Bias alert? Maybe a little, post-fitting glow-up. But seriously, slip into a pair and you'll get it--they're lightweight, breathable, and that meta-rocker geometry makes every step effortless. Not the priciest kicks I've splurged on, but the service alone would've justified double the tag. Fleet Feet Long Beach is primed to explode--mark my words, they'll be popping up across LA and OC soon. If you're tired of guesswork shoe shopping, do yourself a favor: head in, ask for Antonio (or any of the crew), and let the fit id magic happen. Five stars? More like ten if I could. This isn't just buying shoes; it's investing in pain-free miles for those long walks or that daily run.

I was on a mission, my grandson has lost his noise cancelling headphones now 3 times and I have had to replace them 3 times. He goes to a lot of concerts and he knows, your headphones are on your head or in the car, do not just leave them lying around. So, when he did it again, I told him his mom was going to have to replace them as his behavior shows a lack of responsibility for items that he is tasked with caring for. Anyway, I saw this Big 5 on the way to the taking him to the circus so I caved and pulled over. We went in and the cashier was very nice. She was not sure where the headphones were, so she asked a salesperson walking the store. He knew right away and showed me where they were and was able to tell me a little about the selection. I mean, they go from cheap to our you kidding me prices. I found the perfect pair made by Razor and went to the cashier. On my way there, I saw a lot of cool stuff had I been shopping. I told the cashier I was concerned with fit so had all intention of paying for them, opening them right there and trying them on my super sensitive grandson's head. She was fine with that and was going to just let me get another pair or give me my money back if we could not find a great fit. These were perfect. She was happy, we were happy. It all worked out. So, I do like this Big 5 very much. And as to the grandson if he loses these, he will be digging ditches to learn the value of money. Have a great week.
