I went in looking for a cool looking construction boot as they are no longer worn just for construction. They look really hip now a days in a pair of your favorite jeans. Was Christmas shopping for myself and ready for a good pair of slip on boots. After doing some research online I was ready to order but didn't want to wait for shipping since it was Dec. 23rd. After being a longtime customer of a neighboring business I gave them a call to check if they by chance had the particular boot in stock. They did! The woman taking call was so nice and helpful and quickly checked stock and offered to hold them for me. I was surprised and took the trip. Was helped promptly and I fell in love with the boots. They fit great! But that's another review i have to make. But the staff was very friendly and helpful and having the boot I wanted and actually fit well, it made my experience even better. Rude staff with poor customer service skills. I attempted to exchange (they do not refund, FYI) a pair of brand new boots and they accused me of wearing them and getting them dirty after purchasing. I only wore them in the store when trying on, and only the right side was allowed. They did NOT inspect them before I bought them and have no way of proving I caused the damage. All I wanted was to exchange for another pair in different size. Alberto is a rude manager and should be fired along with the counter staff. I went on a few weeks ago to purchase some work boots. They have a large selection and somewhat good prices. They have a nice selection of women's boots as well since I'm always having trouble finding good quality women's boots. I walked in excited to buy some boots and didn't even get a hello. The young man and woman didn't even look up to acknowledge me. They kept on cleaning the counter and talking with each other. I was having trouble finding a certain boot without steel toe. Went to Boot barn & Doughboys and had no luck. Thought I'd check out Shoe Kingdom next door, and I'm glad I did. They had exactly what I was looking for. Greeted me when I walked in but weren't pushy. The best part is, they asked if I was in the union, which I am. From one blue collar worker to another. Avoid this place at all cost. They do not represent the manufacturer warranty. I called the manufacture in regards to a boot falling apart in 2 months. They said they only do a 30 day warranty. Contacted the manufacturer of the boot again and they said that they have their own policy but since their a wholesaler you have to go thru the company you purchased them from. Went in today to buy some work boots with my husband and after 10 minutes of being ignored and walked past we finally were helped. While my husband was trying on the boots the employees started playing tag and running around the store. It just amazes me that while we are looking at paying $200 for boots the "kids" that are left to run the store are so rude and juvenile.
