I purchased a pair of Thorogood mic toe 6 inch boots yesterday in brown. I am wearing them today and love them. I like the wide selection of boots and shoes. I went in looking for a cool looking construction boot as they are no longer worn just for construction. They look really hip now a days in a pair of your favorite jeans. Anyway if you purchase some thorogood boots buy a 1/2 size smaller then your actual size. They run a little bit big. I got a size 10 and they fit great and feel great!!! Was Christmas shopping for myself and ready for a good pair of slip on boots. After doing some research online I was ready to order but didn't want to wait for shipping since it was Dec. 23rd. After being a longtime customer of a neighboring business I gave them a call to check if they by chance had the particular boot in stock. They did! The woman taking call was so nice and helpful and quickly checked stock and offered to hold them for me. I was surprised and took the trip. Was helped promptly and I fell in love with the boots. They fit great! But that's another review i have to make. But the staff was very friendly and helpful and having the boot I wanted and actually fit well, it made my experience even better. Rude staff with poor customer service skills. I attempted to exchange (they do not refund, FYI) a pair of brand new boots and they accused me of wearing them and getting them dirty after purchasing. I only wore them in the store when trying on, and only the right side was allowed. They did NOT inspect them before I bought them and have no way of proving I caused the damage. All I wanted was to exchange for another pair in different size. Alberto is a rude manager and should be fired along with the counter staff. I went on a few weeks ago to purchase some work boots. They have a large selection and somewhat good prices. They have a nice selection of women's boots as well since I'm always having trouble finding good quality women's boots. I walked in excited to buy some boots and didn't even get a hello. The young man and woman didn't even look up to acknowledge me. They kept on cleaning the counter and talking with each other. I was having trouble finding a certain boot without steel toe. Went to Boot barn & Doughboys and had no luck. Thought I'd check out Shoe Kingdom next door, and I'm glad I did. They had exactly what I was looking for. Greeted me when I walked in but weren't pushy. The best part is, they asked if I was in the union, which I am. From one blue collar worker to another. Avoid this place at all cost. They do not represent the manufacturer warranty. I called the manufacture in regards to a boot falling apart in 2 months. They said they only do a 30 day warranty. Contacted the manufacturer of the boot again and they said that they have their own policy but since their a wholesaler you have to go thru the company you purchased them from. This company does not represent any of their manufacturers warranty programs and will leave you without a pair of 250$ boots. All I go to say is they have got to do better. Went in today to buy some work boots with my husband and after 10 minutes of being ignored and walked past we finally were helped. While my husband was trying on the boots the employees started playing tag and running around the store. It just amazes me that while we are looking at paying $200 for boots the "kids" that are left to run the store are so rude and juvenile. The reason I am giving this place two stars is because all of my other experiences in the past have been positive. I simply need to warn future shoppers that they have a policy posted regarding returns/exchanges that they did not honor with me. On December 21st, I purchased a pair of Doc Martins for my teenage son. I gave him the boots Christmas Eve and he wore them Christmas Day around the house. By the end of the day, he complained they were slipping and causing a blister. I went back to the store today, December 26th and attempted to exchange them for a smaller pair, but I was told that the heal was scratched and they could not be returned. The posted policy states that they will exchange/refund boots if they have been worn indoors in a carpeted area. My son wore the boots only indoors. If you are going to purchase shoes there, be warned that it may be difficult to return them. This was not a small purchase. These boots were my son's only Christmas present. On the way home, I stopped at another mom and pop shoe store (Bodell's) to see if they could help me with inserts or something to help the boot not slip. The salesmen put pads on the inner back seam himself and did not charge me. No help was offered at Shoe Kingdom to help the boot fit better or help me with a solution to keep the boot. read more
