I do not know who owns this store but I see that customer needs are not a priority what seems is that once they take your money your voice is not heard when you go back to the store to get an exchange or refund even if you have a receipt. 29Dec23 at 5:30 pm. I went in to WSS shoe store #39 Long Beach / Cherry. That was a big mistake. I wanted to buy a walking shoes. Was directed to the most expensive shoe isle. And got absolute no help. NO HELP AT ALL!! I ended up buying New Balance 574 for $93.70 You would think buying expensive shoes like this, that only cost Foot locker between $15 to $20 to buy from New Balance (and cost New Balance about between $2 to $3 to make the shoes) they Foot Locker would give you a SLIGHT BIT OF CUSTOMER SERVCE. Not a chance. BUT to cover their butt. They told me at check out, if I wore the shoe outside I could get NOT get a refund if they didn't fit. Shoes seemed fine in the store. Got home and wore the shoes inside to "break them in". They NEVER did break them "IN". I figured it would take sometime for them to feel comfortable. NOT a chance. I tried on and off for the last 5 weeks, only wearing them inside. Now I am pissed. They killed my feet. and I have wasted over $93 and hours of pain. A slight bit of customer service would not have only saved me time and money. BUT would have saved me a lot of PAIN. I have to do something, but I was not going back to a store that gave me NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. So I called New Balance directly and that was no easy task. The only thing New Balance could offer was for me to go to their factory store and "see if they could help me". So I went to the New Balance company Store. Of course, since I didn't buy the shoes directly from the New balance store, there is nothing they would/could do. New BALANCE MADE THE GARBAGE SHOES, but in typical corporate fashion, they take no responsibility for their garbage shoes. Sound familiar. Thought I had just walked into WSS store in long beach. But i was now at New Balance store. My head was spinning and then I realized I wasn't in Kansas anymore and toto was nowhere to found. Anyway I persisted. Finally the New Balance employee begrudgingly looked at the shoes. And dog gone he could find nothing wrong. So he takes out his trusted feet measuring device. You know the kind your great grandmother use to use. The kind you stand up and place you foot on and the poor salesman had to knell down to adjust it to get an accurate foot measurement. Well this guy wasn't about to kneel down for anyone, let alone a customer who hadn't purchased shoes from him. I adjusted it myself, not that I know what I'm doing. Low and below, thank Jesus, the salesman looks down and says "you need a wide shoe size and these are regular. Now we're getting somewhere. He further states the "experts" (and I am using the term "experts" very loosely here) at WSS store sold me the wrong shoe. Maybe there is a shoe god. I digress. Now I start thinking maybe I am still in Kansas. So what's a humble customer to do? I do the obvious. I take out the receipt and try calling WSS #39. I called the number on the receipt. (562) 428-3003. My phone promptly tells me "Invalid number". I try again. Several times. Same prompt response, invalid number. I look up the number on the internet. I get taken to YELP. Thanks google for all you do or should I say you don't do. Wonder how much Yelp pays Google to send me to their site, Instead of answering a simple question like phone. God I miss Ma Bell. And God I long for yesteryear. When you still had a sight bit of control over your web browser. Yelp has the same number as my receipt. And as a obedient slave to the internet Gods, I call the number again. Low and behold same message. "INVALID NUMBER" No question about it. I'm NOT in Kansas any more. Who do call Ghostbusters? You can't fight these big corporations. Afterall WSS is owned by Foot Locker. And Foot Locker owns many companies and has 2,600 retail stores in 26 countries. Now that's big. You would think a conglomerate like foot locker would give you customer service. Not a chance. It would cost them money. AND MONEY IS THE ONLY THING THST MATTERS TO COMPANIES LIKE THESE. I been had. But I m not going away quietly. No only has my ego and my wallet been bruised. My feet have been bruised AND my feet hurt causing my whole body to hurt. Ask a billion Chinese about the feet. They understand the feet are the window to health. Thanks NEW BALANCE. Thanks FOOT LOCKER. You need my my $94 more than me. After all I sometimes work for a living. I don't employ little children around the world to make my product. In fact I try never to use "people". Thank you internet Gods. Thank you for making the world a better place, NOT ! I wonder how many other people have had similar problems like this? Hey if we all get together we could displace these false Gods and take back control. At least control of our feet. Ordered a 6.5 women's shoe online for pickup. They gave me a 6.5 men's and tried to argue that it was the correct shoe. Had to get my money back and order elsewhere. Management is rude all they did was argue and tell me I was wrong. read more

This is usually my first stop when shoe shopping. They usually have what I'm looking for. Nothing special. Just shoes. Prices? Well, everything went up. I go to wss for classics and basic shoes. If you want rare, collectors, hype or special sneakers then this might not be the place you. Availability is usually good. Service is meh. Nothing special but not bad either. The little short "man in charge" was kind of a douche. My friend and I bought some shoes from the location in Carson and she realized she didn't want them anymore so we came to return them at this location. She's never worn them before and the dick inspected them, accusing that she did.... then proceeded to tell us that "he'll take them this time", as if he was doing us a favor??? The shoe was never worn so little man was rude for no reason. And another thing, playing with your tongue ring in front of customers is disgusting, ugly, and very unprofessional lol so why is he in charge. Not very customer centric if you ask me. And ringed up to $29.99 so I let the guy know I seen them for $19.99 and he was like nah $29.99 so I went to grab the display and brought it to the counter and he was like O!!!!!! I've been to other WSS in Long Beach. But by far this is the worst one I've been to. I don't know if it's because most of them are youngsters or just plainly don't care. Anyways, I went there yesterday. I knew what I needed and wanted so I went to go get the shoes. For the boys shoes and many other ones, they're really understocked and messy. So I needed dressy shoes size 7 for my boy and sneakers, Moana, size 11 for my princess, No sizes for either. So I take the shoe boxes up to the counter and ask the guy (Shannon, I believe) there, if he can look and see if he has them in the back or at another store. At which he responded that the Moana's does not go to size 11 and even if they did he wouldn't be able to check for because the code is different. Ok then how about for my son, well he goes and looks at the same spot, where I was, comes back to tell me that that's all they've got. Ok can you please check if another store has them? With a sigh and tiresome voice tells the guy at the counter if he can call. They call the paramount one, which hangs up on them twice, before I get frustrated and leave to go and find shoes for my daughter. We're looking for twinkle toes. There's a girl with glasses, (which seems to take forever to put 20 boxes of shoes in their racks. Yes I been shoes before, kids no less) sees that we're having a hard time looking for one shoe. Not once did she ever offer to help. Not once. Finally, my daughter found the emoji twinkle toes and got those. Now for my son, the dressy shoes they did have in his size, did not fit him. I had given up. Then I remembered that they have a clearance isle.I get there and guess what I found? The dressy shoes size 7 I wanted and had asked for and NEVER came to tell me if the other WSS had them. Only three girls offer help, one with the braids, one with short hair and the one that got our box and placed it on the rack. And the guy that opened the door for us to leave. I don't recommend it. I was at this WSS today. I had about $130 worth of shoes I was trying to save $10 on but I was told they could accept my coupon even though it was the coupon from their Yelp ad. So then they told me it was for online only when you can clearly see in the picture it says save in store or online. So after talking to two employees who agreed that it was their stores Yelp they insisted they couldn't give me the discount. So I naturally left with out buying anything. I'll get my shoes at another store. I have left a message for Juan Briseño the District Manager and currently waiting for his response. I'll let you guys know how it goes if he contacts me. I live around the corner from this store. I was walking with my grandkids and my grandson.needed shoes strings. I walk n and the guy standing at the door was nice I ask if I can leave my bag with him he said yes. I started looking at shoes and went straight to clearance sections there were 2 employees fixing shoes or stocking wasnt pay much attention but they didnt acknowledged me which I really didnt care . I ended up buying 2 pairs of shoes and almost forgot about the shoe strings. Had to ask someone if they had any.. the cashier was kinda friendly. I will go there again. Some of the prices are not great discounts and you can find better looking for a little more at your everyday footlocker, but often a pair of limited edition...rare....hard to find pair of shoes may pop up. Think about it. You have a gray Los Angles Clipper Hat....where else will you find some gray kicks to match??? WSS rarely lets me down...but it is hit or miss for what you are looking for. read more

Just left this location and it felt like I was being watched as opposed to a being in a customer friendly environment. First an employee came down the aisle and messed with a box and left. Then the manager came about a minute later and messed with boxes the entire time we were there. They didn't at anytime say anything to any other shopper in the store so it was very ironic that they did to us. The only difference was everyone else was a different race than us. The manager said it wasn't the case but the adage its not what you say or what you do but how you make a person feel. He said he wasn't watching us and continued to mess with the boxes. We stumbled upon this store just driving around. The worker that helped us was super nice and helpful. She had a lot of people to attend to but apologized and made sure help us when she could. I just bought my son a pair of shoes a day ago. And he put them on and walked not even an hour in them and told me they were too tight on the sides so I told them off right away. They were still in great condition smelt new nothing wrong with them. I brought them back and the guy in the blue shirt just glanced at them real quick and said "how do you expect us to sale these" I told him they look fine to me. He said well I'll only be able to take them back if there's a defect or if they are ripped ? So There's no way we can take them back. He said if you buy another pair I'll give you 15% off ?!? So I told him I just spent almost $50 on these shoes that he's not even going to be able to wear and you expect me to buy another pair of shoes from you guys with only 15% off ??? Went there for the first time about a month ago. I got a pair of cute Nike's for a great price. I'm not sure if they were defective or what, but about 3 weeks later, I had a small issue with the shoes and it was making my right foot very uncomfortable. I went back and they exchanged the shoes for me with no hassle! I got the same ones because I loved them so much and so far there have been no problems.
