If your looking for a hat make sure you check them out they have a huge selection but they don't always have the size you want they sell out a lot especially for the holidays that's they only downside. I wish they would stock up more often but oh well on to the next store . read more

I walk in to purchase a gift. I know exactly what I need so I go straight to it and look for the size I need. They have 1 left but the white part had a stain. First mistake, why have white hats or any hats with white in them out for everyone to put their dirty hands on? I ask if that's the only one left. Second mistake, the sales guy is on his phone and says "yea" doesn't offer to see if another store has it in stock or if he can order it for me online. Nothing! I have been interested in getting the free Kobe tribute that lids has been offering for the hat that I got my boyfriend for Christmas. When I called Cerritos on Monday 2-24 during the Kobe celebration of life the girl that answered said that I could drop off the hat and pick it up Friday. So I started trying to call the Lakewood lids. I called all day literally. Over 18 times. Not one time did they answer their phone. So this morning I drove over to Lakewood instead. When I arrived there was only one guy working and he proceeded to tell me that the embroidery ended yesterday. I asked if I should try the Cerritos store instead and he said he didn't recommend it because they are going to tell me the same thing. Laziness. I went straight over to Cerritos and the gentleman there had it done in less than 40 minutes. DONT EVER waste your time by going to the Lakewood store. I will only shop at the helpful Cerritos store that I originally bought the hat from. read more

Wow the teenage boys that work at this store deserve an award for their lack of professionalism, lackadaisical attitude and all around low class behavior. The store reeked of marijuana and there was no one in it before I walked in, just the employees. Hmm..... I ask for help getting a hat from the top shelf and they look at me disgusted. Homeboy get your attitude in check get off your chair and come help me. It's called WORK for a reason, guess kids these days don't know what that is. After being blown off, I listen to employee 1 telling employee 2 he doesn't like embroidering the hats so he just tells people it's broken. Wow. For my next complaint. These young men proceeded to bully an older disabled patron. I almost cried I was so uncomfortable. I am angry at myself for saying nothing. The disabled gentlemen went to pay and these 2 goofballs laughed at him and told him "speak up champ" he started stammering and couldn't hardly finish before he was cut off and told to wait. Then they continued to harass this guy about why he couldn't pay. I had to leave I was so upset. These people should be fired. read more

Customer service is hit or miss. Depends on whos working. Ive had decent customer service here. Sometimes they have great deals though... when they have a sale, thats when its worth it to buy. Otherwise its so overpriced. I got a cool seahawks hat for 10 bucks ! Go Hawks !! read more

I'm probably the only person giving this store a 5-star review. I was in here this morning and am currently waiting for my custom hat to be finished. So here's the story, I went to Cerritos mall Lid's first as its closer to my house however their machine "wasn't working" *insert side eye* but whatever, they referred me to this location and I'm glad they did. Justin was (is) the only person working and when I walked in he was dealing with somewhat of a difficult customer. If it wasn't for his "laid back" and "unprofessional" manner that seems to be the reason for one and two star reviews, that irritating customer could have possibly turned into a disgruntled customer at the drop of a hat (pun TOTALLY intended). He joked around with him and kept his cool while this customer passively-aggressively complained about the price of custom hats he was already getting 50% off on. While dealing with that customer and trying to attend to me as well, many other simple customers came in. He was dividing his time amazingly and kept a positive attitude the entire time. He greeted every customer with a smile and answered every question. He also made sure to acknowledge me to let me know I wasn't forgotten. Once he had time to get to me he was super helpful in making my hat. He had great opinions and managed to up-sale me (which IS his and every other retailers job, for those of you who think you know all but have never worked customer service.) Haha. I'm normally a "no, thank you" kind of girl, but I really felt like he was more concerned with how the hat would come out and look especially once I told him it was a present. I've worked in customer service so I know it's hard to keep multiple customers happy and in my opinion he executed this flawlessly. I could see where this store would get a 3 star and below review based on size and lack of variety but the experience I just had is a 3-star review with 5-star service. So I went with the latter. I can't speak for any other employee but if Justin is working I guarantee you won't be disappointed. :) read more

I never take the time to write reviews even when I have a sour experience because I also work in customer service and I know what it's like and the challenges that one can come across with. Today is the first time I am taking my time writing a bad review because it was a really negative experience at this Lakewood location. I came in looking for a Dodger hat. As soon as I walked in there was two associates behind the counter, both looked but NEITHER greeted me. I made eye contact with both AND still not a peep of welcoming from them.. didn't even get their name but one of the associates was a young girl with silver tone hair looked like she had an attitude and a male I'm not sure if he is Philipino continued carrying a personal conversation with each other. I needed help finding a size but they didn't even bother asking if I needed help, or if I was looking for something specific. My entire time in the store both stayed behind the counter. I went in with the intention of purchasing two dodger hats I needed but NOPE decided not to give them a sale and decided to leave instead. I left the store feeling pretty crappy and rejected. They didn't deserve a sale from me in spite of Lids having an awesome sale right now!! Corporate, management please check your employees and properly train them on how to provide customer service!! Had one of the worst customer services experiences of my life a few hours ago in Lids of Lakewood Mall. They had a display of hats marked $25 on a circular wrack, but a sign on top said, "All hats $10." I spotted one to buy, picked it up gave to Vanessa, the cashier, and offered a $20 bill. She looked in the computer and saw it was mislabeled and should be $39 or $40. I pointed out that I picked up the hate on the circular display of $10 hats. First thing she said was no, I wasn't there. she pointed behind her and to her right, and said that there were similar hats on a wrack behind the register. I asked how did I get it then, since I had not gone there. She even checked the store's security video, but wouldn't admit the result! She also, I'm 90% sure, removed the $25 sticker the all the $10 hats had on them. Then she refused--adamently--to sell me the hat at the marked down price. I'm pretty sure that is a violation of California consumer protection and advertising laws. But the biggest thing was being called a liar, by her implication. I did not buy anything and I will never set foot in that place again. Oh, yeah, I asked to speak to the manager at one point, and she said she was the manager. But before my son and I left the store, she said something about the manager arriving later. Wonderful. read more
