It has just a Dunkin and a Green Apple convenience store inside and a Mobil gas station outside. The bathroom was clean and looked pretty new, which led me to a curious observation. The men's room had none of the hot air hand dryers that have been common for the last decade or so. They didn't even have a paper towel dispenser on the wall. The only option for drying my hands was a roll of paper towels standing upright on a sink. Kind of bizarre, don't you think?

This is yet another example of absolutely awful price hikes and upcharging and price gouging at rest areas. Every Fast Food Outlet in here is massively overpriced, some more than others. Coffee is almost twice the price it is supposed to be. The gas here is anywhere from $0.10 to $0.40 more expensive than it would be off the highway, but off-highway gas is kind of a no-go because you have to pay extra in tolls to get off and on the highway again, nearly negating the difference. Not to mention waiting at the toll booth oftentimes, costing you several minutes. They know the majority aren't going to do that and they upcharge you accordingly. Grr. So they really screw you over with this toll road and these plazas. Now they are good for stopping and resting and sleeping, pretty safe with all the trucks around, and they have pretty decent facilities, but having said that, the service at a lot of these little places is awful. And perhaps worst of all, if you nap for too long, then when you try to get off and pay your toll, you could well get the third degree about being on the Thruway for too long and they could accuse you of trying to cheat the system. Good times all around.

If you're expecting the full service travel plaza experience of Thruway rest areas with their Starbucks and massage chairs and E-Claw machines you might be disappointed. However, while this facility is limited in amenities it is more than ample for what you need it for.

There is a walkway to follow the creek which will lead to the other side of the grass, leading back to the parking lot. The bathroom is provided also, which to me, wasn't the cleanest and kept up, but did the job though. It would be awesome to see it well maintained and cleaned on a given basis. Fortunately men can aim and shoot when crap is disgusting...but if ya got to do the squat and hover...you're screwed. Just carry an empty chinese iced tea container and use it in your car....it'll be less awkward and more sanitary than exposing ya lady bits to whatever God knows is floating in that air. The cleanest thing in the joint was probably the hand sanitizer.

Other than the cool fact that it's in the Amsterdam area (but not that Amsterdam unfortunately), the gas is 10-30 cents overpriced but you can't get off the highway to get gas because you have to pay more in tolls if you do it that way. The food here is all pretty awful (haven't tried all of it though) and everything inside is overpriced, as usual for these plazas. They do have free Wi-Fi but don't stay too long, because if you fall asleep here or get caught up on your laptop, the people at the toll booth when you exit, will think that you're playing them for fools and will try and charge you full price $25 or so, because you stayed on the highway too long. Sigh. But at least you'll have an awesome Mohawk hairdo.

This is highly inappropriate since staff there have to endure the heat and guests were all complaining. A rest stop is supposed to be a reprieve, not a place you try to avoid. The flies were awful and the McDonald's staff had to have fly swatters while they work. There is no ice cream vendor open here anymore. Further, the women's room was filthy, more on par with a port-a-potty in cleanliness and upkeep (watch out for no toilet paper). It's a heat wave summer. Travelers need healthy places to stop. This was not it.

It's technically a welcome center which explains the fact that it's a much more calming and appropriately fitting to its environment in how it fits right in. I'd love if they added Adirondack merch too though. Lots of seating, Adirondack-style chairs to stretch your legs out on if you're taking a break from driving. There is also a kids playground and a dog area as well as a small area for everyone else to walk around. Overall, it was a great and easy stop!

Regular vehicles park to the left when you pull off the highway and big rigs park to the right. Plenty of space to walk about if you needed to and plenty of space to take a seat. Inside it was well maintained. Facilities were clean and in order. I putzed around outside for a while and walked the grounds. They were mowing grass the day I was here so you kind of had to keep moving to not be in their way. Things to note, aside from table/picnic area, there is a pet area available. But the pet areas don't seem to be maintained as well as the rest of the area, disposal bags were missing even though there was a place for them. Police station is on premise.

Very comfortable couch to take some rest during your travel. Parking was the only headache in this location. There was very small parking lot in the front of the building and we actually parked a road off this service area . This travel Plaza had all our favorite restaurants and coffee shops .. Starbucks, Panera, panda express, shake shack and few more ! Allllll restaurants are to quality . Wait time was a bit once we order food . Fuel prices are slightly high . Had a good 20-25 mins of stopover .. 4 stars for this good service area !

I was driving from the Albaby Airport back home in south central Pennsylvania and needed a quick…read morestretch and break and came across this in the interstate. It was quite busy on a late Sunday morning and the bathrooms in need of a refresh, but certainly not filthy. The was a Starbucks with drive through, a panera bread, and a Shake Shack, and Chick-fil-A, none of which I visited on this stop. There were electronic car chargers for those so inclined. I was disturbed by all of the broken glass in the parking area I'd selected, so if I develop a slow tire leak, I'll know what happened, and hopefully the state will sweep this up. It is certainly easy on, easy off I-87 access.
