I personally just didn't have a great experience at this stop. The inside looks lovely but it had an unpleasant odor that is hard to describe. it's possible my stop was affected by the other people who were there, so take this review with a grain of salt, but the vibes were just off. It looked clean, but felt very dirty. I don't know how else to explain it. All of the people I encountered were rude; not just one person, but multiple people. I wanted to get a photo of the sign before we headed out and there were two different families just letting their kids play and climb on the sign while myself and another person were trying to snap a photo. I had to wait a good 8-10 minutes for them to leave to snap one photo of the sign without random children on it. I have nothing against kids playing and waited patiently, but there was a literal playground for children right across from the sign. It's more just that people didn't seem to be very kind or considerate here. Again, this is a fine stop if you need to get off the road and there are things to see here, I just purse didn't personally feel this welcome center was very welcoming.

Further, down the grass, Willowemoc Creek will be seen which at that point, you'll be on the sand. The creek is very nice to look at, with the beautiful sound and also it moving at a nice pace. There is a walkway to follow the creek which will lead to the other side of the grass, leading back to the parking lot. The bathroom is provided also, which to me, wasn't the cleanest and kept up, but did the job though. It would be awesome to see it well maintained and cleaned on a given basis. Plenty of parking, and a lot to do here.

It was so bad 2 men at the hand sanitizing station and I just started talking about how filthy it was. The men were disgusted...and men being, well...less fussy than women about things, were moved to blurt out how gross the bathrooms were to a complete an utter stranger with NO prompting. Fortunately men can aim and shoot when crap is disgusting...but if ya got to do the squat and hover...you're screwed. Just carry an empty chinese iced tea container and use it in your car....it'll be less awkward and more sanitary than exposing ya lady bits to whatever God knows is floating in that air. The cleanest thing in the joint was probably the hand sanitizer.

We were treated with unusual kindness by Lou, who was very helpful to us. He made the state of Connecticut seem like an oasis in the desert. Thank you for a well maintained rest area. The RV dump and water was particularly helpful to us. We also enjoyed eating at the nice picnic tables and our kids enjoyed playing in the grass. Regular vehicles park to the left when you pull off the highway and big rigs park to the right. Plenty of space to walk about if you needed to and plenty of space to take a seat. Inside it was well maintained. Facilities were clean and in order. I putzed around outside for a while and walked the grounds. They were mowing grass the day I was here so you kind of had to keep moving to not be in their way. Things to note, aside from table/picnic area, there is a pet area available. But the pet areas don't seem to be maintained as well as the rest of the area, disposal bags were missing even though there was a place for them. Police station is on premise.

The trucks use the areas on both sides for parking, so keep an eye out for them too. The rest area has the usual with restrooms, vending machines and a spot for dog walking. It's nice and green here, a great break from fighting with highway traffic. Unlike New York, Pennsylvania does not have limits on how long you can stay and I did not see any signs. With a little one in tow, we had to make a quick potty break and this was the closest stop. The bathrooms, while very cold inside (January/winter) they were very clean on our visit. No visible garbage or water from the sink on the floor - maybe we hit it right after it got cleaned, but we were happy. F&B options standard, cool drink cases along the back, a small Tim Horton's and Subway all under one roof a plus. The Tim Horton's is very limited, and on our visit only 2 timbit options. Still, enough for anyone and the service was super friendly and all smiles. The other snacks we picked up from the Mirabito itself all in good shape, nothing we picked up was expired and the drinks were nice and chilled. The young gentleman that rang us up was very friendly, super nice to all of us in fact and wished us safe travels. We def. took note of the exit number for this one!

Very large, well lit parking lot extends around the building, which has multiple entrances. I took the opportunity to stretch my legs and go for a walk. Felt very safe. It wasn't too late, maybe 10 pm, but there were few customers so the gas pumps were practically empty. The store is well stocked with a variety of typical food offerings, as well as Pilot coffee, which is very good. The store and bathroom were clean. The one employee I interacted with was friendly.
