We were treated with unusual kindness by Lou, who was very helpful to us. He made the state of Connecticut seem like an oasis in the desert. Thank you for a well maintained rest area. The RV dump and water was particularly helpful to us. We also enjoyed eating at the nice picnic tables and our kids enjoyed playing in the grass. Further, down the grass, Willowemoc Creek will be seen which at that point, you'll be on the sand. The creek is very nice to look at, with the beautiful sound and also it moving at a nice pace. There is a walkway to follow the creek which will lead to the other side of the grass, leading back to the parking lot. The bathroom is provided also, which to me, wasn't the cleanest and kept up, but did the job though. It would be awesome to see it well maintained and cleaned on a given basis. It was so bad 2 men at the hand sanitizing station and I just started talking about how filthy it was. The men were disgusted...and men being, well...less fussy than women about things, were moved to blurt out how gross the bathrooms were to a complete an utter stranger with NO prompting. Fortunately men can aim and shoot when crap is disgusting...but if ya got to do the squat and hover...you're screwed. Just carry an empty chinese iced tea container and use it in your car....it'll be less awkward and more sanitary than exposing ya lady bits to whatever God knows is floating in that air. The cleanest thing in the joint was probably the hand sanitizer.

It's one of those bathroom-only rest areas with some vending machines and some toilets and some information but nothing fresh or healthy - or special. Still it comes in handy when you're out in the middle of nowhere in northeastern Pennsylvania and need to use the bathroom while you're driving up in the endless mountains. It can get cold AF here, so bring a coat, or bring me, to keep you warm.

The interior is the odd part, as I've never seen the Auntie Anne's or Sbarro's open, and I've stopped here several times. I've seen both the Chick-Fil-A and Starbucks open, but if you stop here on a Sunday? The Starbucks might be the only option. The Chick-Fil-A here is also expensive. Why stop here? The bathrooms are clean and it's perhaps this travel plaza's best feature. There is a small convenience store that has a limited selection if you are in a pinch. Overall, for most people, you'll want to stop at the TA a short drive down the road instead.

They keep the place very clean and safe. The roof top area have tables and chairs for picnic and rest. One thing to watch for are the roadway directions. Some are only one-way but the markings are rubbed off and need serious new paint; maintenance guy yell at me for not knowing.
