It was my wife's birthday and she always wanted to eat at your establishment. Last night was her "surprise" dinner. We were in the area all day remembering all the fall vacations we spent in Beach Lake while our boys were growing up. We enjoyed shopping in Hawley and Honesdale. We started out at Lake Wallenpaupack and ended our day with you... so glad we did! When she realized that we were going to be having dinner with you, she really got excited. From the moment we walked in, the decor was welcoming and warm. We were met with the hosts and given options where we would like to sit. We opted to dine in the enclosed porch. It was very cozy, the quartz heaters warming the area very nicely. Our server Daniel, was exceptional. Explaining all about the menu and specials. My wife had the sword fish, I had the chicken. We got the shaved brussel sprouts and the kimchi rice to share. Well.... Our food came out and presentation was spectacular. From the first bite to the last, we thoroughly enjoyed every taste we were experiencing. The chef and kitchen staff definitely showed their skill and passion for creating a great dining experience! Overpriced, very small room. Very very small TV. Actually, had to wear my glasses. Dirty shower. Very noisy parking lot. No carpets to muffle shoes in hallway. We arrived 5pm Fri left 9am Sun. $600. Many added fees including a $70. Resort fee. We did get a $150 credit at Glass. But still paid add'l $125 and we had no alcohol. The steak was underwhelming. The small plates (for sharing) just kept adding up since we don't have the same tastes. There were so many leaks in the ceiling when it poured and all thru dinner people had to either move tables or be transferred inside. No apologies from staff who acted like this was normal. We did a quick overnight (Friday to Saturday). For a very basic first floor room the total was $500. This is not a boutique hotel but it is priced as such. For our $500 there was a dismal view. Bed was super low but comfortable. We could hear both the phone ringing and (even more fun) snoring from the room next to us. We tried to use the breakfast credit at Cocoon but both the order and the pickup line were about 10 people deep and neither line was moving. It was fine but really not worth the price. Our room was on the first floor with a view of... the parking lot along with all the sounds that go with it. This a very photogenic hotel so I won't deny that we got some great photos. However, the bathroom was outdated and not maintained, and as far as the rest of the room - you could tell they were doing their best. But the certain spots like the walls had dust/dirt and although the bed was comfortable and the sheets were soft, the comforter was light and flimsy. Not cosy at all. Our restervation came with a breakfast credit and I'll say this - the coffee was not bad (and I am picky- I won't even drink Starbucks)! I'd come back to eat at the restaurant because we didn't get to try it but I don't think I'll come back as a guest until they can renovate... though they might be the best accoms in the area. *the 2 bedroom suites seem better but I toured them and just feel like it's more of the same just with extra room. read more

Went to glass for vantines day. The atmosphere is beautiful and the service was excellent.... however the food fell short. We paid a staggering 179$ for shared plates and 2 drinks ... 69 a person... the food was so salty. I'm not sure the chef even tasted any of the sauces before the dishes were sent out.... its a shame because everything was cooked to a perfect temperature and texture but it was so salty neither of us could eat it ... hope it was just an off night read more

If you are looking for a weekend getaway with picturesque views and nature it really doesn't get much better than this. I stayed at Ledges for a friends wedding and this was a great experience. The property is stunning. There is a large back patio area with several different levels and seating areas. Everything faces a dazzling backdrop of waterfalls. Seriously - waterfalls as far as the eye can see. I could have sat out back for hours just taking in the scenery. The hotel itself is cozy and has a very boutique feel. There are around 20 rooms. We stayed in a two bedroom suite and it's comfortable for 6 people. Two bedrooms, plus a pull out couch and two bathrooms. There was lots of closet space and there is also a full kitchen if you want to do any cooking. This is a fantastic location for a wedding. The epic scenery really speaks for itself, and the food is also delicious. I'm still dreaming about those fried Brussels sprouts. If they are offered on the regular restaurant menu I highly recommend. I would suggest this spot for anything from a large private event to a cozy weekend getaway. read more

We are new to the area and have only heard amazing things. We arrived for our 7:30 reservation at 7:15pm. My first stop was the restroom which was, to say the least disgusting. We then waited at the host stand for 20 minutes until we were acknowledged after 5-6 people walked right by us. It was not busy. We were told it was going to be 15 to 20 minute which is not a big deal. We went to the bar while waiting to order 3 drinks. The bartender who was very nice already had one of the drinks we ordered made on the back counter for a different patron, but he offered it to us. We thought that was inappropriate but took the drink. Shortly after we realized it was warm and separated, obviously sitting out for a long time. We were there twice, just in case our first experience was a fluke, but it was not. The only good thing about this place is the atmosphere. The service is so so at best. The hotel is great for being set in such a gorgeous location. After a weekend at Woodloch, we we needed a good spot to stay for a night. We booked a pretty expensive suite for a girls weekend. To be honest, it was fairly dated - pretty old carpet, old brown couch etc. It just didn't seem commensurate with a $500+ room! Purely felt the hotel was represented differently in online materials than what we were actually booked in. Based on that, I would honestly recommend not booking this for a romantic weekend away. It felt a bit more like an extended stay hotel in terms of decor. The staff were super helpful and glass was a cute wine bar downstairs. Very picturesque. My daughter had her wedding at the Ledges Hotel. The surroundings are beautiful. The scenery was exactly what she was looking for with the waterfalls flowing over the huge rocks. Had the Korean BBQ chicken thighs ( since they used the word THIGHS one would figure there at least two prices) WRONG. Sixteen dollars for 1small thigh. 1/2 cup of fries. $10.00. The outside of the hotel is spectacular, very beautiful views. Great opportunity for photographs. The Falls is gorgeous. Cocoons the coffee place on property is also amazing and very nice inside. There was one room available which was a suite which we booked. We paid over $400 for it. Inside the room it smelled really bad, very moldy, very musty, and most of the lights inside didn't work. It was dirty and grungy and they were spiderwebs all over the windows. The bathroom had no soap or shampoo in it. And there's no bottled water you can even purchase. The dogs next-door kept barking, which isn't the property owners fault but they shouldn't allow pets. They kept us up for most of the night. The room upstairs which we slept with sloped so bad I kept falling off the bed. We are not a fan of this place to spend the night. It really was not a good deal for that kind of money. read more

We had our wedding at Ledges in June. After months of looking for a venue in the Philly area, I found Ledges through a photographer's blog and knew immediately that I wanted to get married there. I saw that they were better fit for smaller sized weddings (up to 100), but decided we could cut our guest list down to 150 and make it work. (We were assured by Ledges staff that they could accommodate 150) I usually don't write reviews but thought this information would have been very helpful to have known and could help a future bride. Here's the major positives and negatives we experienced leading up to our wedding and on our wedding day: (+) The waterfall views and hotel design are stunning and so unique. We got tons of compliments on our venue-- even from seasoned wedding vendors. It's hard to believe that we were in Pennsylvania when you look at pictures of us on the waterfall and in the ruins. The properties are clean and well kept. (+) Some of the staff at Ledges and a sister property Settlers Inn were stellar. Namely Terri and Sue who helped coordinate room bookings and Alanna at the front desk. Several of our guests told us after the wedding that they went above and beyond in their interactions with them. (+) The food was really good and above the high expectations we had. A friend came up to me at the wedding to tell me how good the brussel sprouts were. I'm a vegetarian and thought the ratatouille was delicious. We also got several compliments on the cake, which we loved. (+) The included breakfast for guests at Settler's Inn is delicious. It's a sit down with lots of yummy options. (+) They had a few suites at Ledges which were great for our friends who didn't mind sharing a room. It also had a little kitchenette. (+) Our parents stayed at the House at High Falls. It's a beautiful house with a huge living room and three bedrooms on top of the hill. Besides the air conditioning not working for 2 days (which they eventually fixed and compensated us for), it was a great stay. (+) Our wedding coordinator did a good job the day of the wedding directing things and setting up decor (-) The biggest negative to us was the overall planning experience. Questions we emailed were missed or ignored by our wedding coordinator and it was hard to get a clear answer for simple things. The phone frequently went unanswered when we called to touchbase. It made us very nervous leading up to the wedding. Communication needs to be improved. (-) Some of our guests had a negative experience with some of the staff when they called asking for help. One of our family members asked for help finding a babysitter and had an unpleasant experience after an employee made an offensive comment saying she wouldn't bring a child to a wedding. Luckily we were able to find a great sitter through one of our vendors local to the area. (-) Hotel rooms are small and costly for guests. I think they are trying to be like the nearby Woodloch Spa but their price does not match what you get. There was a room for $450. They also surprised us and guests with a recently added resort fee via email after we had already booked rooms. However, ultimately they removed the resort fee for our guests after we discussed it with them, which we appreciated. (-) The included breakfast at Ledges is just some light pastries and they ran out the morning of our wedding. (-) Despite our efforts to avoid this, the bar lines were frustratingly long during our reception. Guests told us that the one bartender on the dance floor was moving at a "snail's pace", and another did not know how to make simple cocktails. When we expressed concern about having long lines for drinks before the wedding, we were promised they would staff enough bartenders and that there would be red and white wine out for guests to take, but there wasn't. They also put tip jars out on the bars without asking us beforehand, which we thought was inappropriate. (-) Karen, the saleswoman who we first met with to tour and book the property made false promises, even in emails. She promised that decks would be tented that ultimately weren't, and assured us that the rain plan would be good enough, but that was not the case. (-) One of the girls who was working the breakfast at Ledges seemed visibly annoyed to be doing her job and my husband noticed her rolling her eyes and complaining about guests under her breath multiple times throughout the weekend. read more

Highly overpriced hotel with misleading marketing. My wife and I recently stayed at Ledges for a weekend get away. We were greatly disappointed with almost every aspect of the hotel itself, especially given the "high end" marketing and price. First, for fairness I'll start with some good things. We stayed in a two story single bedroom suite and the room was clean and well stocked with towels, dishes, etc. Everything we used in the room worked and all the staff we interacted with were friendly. That's about where the "pros" end. The "cons" of this hotel begin with the price tag. At $380 a night we expected the quality to be real but sadly it was nowhere to be found. This hotel has a great view of a water fall and overlooking courtyard space. However, our room was on the opposite side of building with a view of the parking lot, an orange extension ladder, and storage shed. Not what we paid for. The room itself was poorly maintained. TV wires and cable boxes hanging loose on the wall. Unfinished patches in drywall and peeling paint. This is not "high end". The spiral staircase was a cool idea, but poorly executed. The staircase requires a large circular hole between floors. The hole in our room was never finished with molding or patching of any kind and left with holes in the plaster and the edges of the cut off floorboards exposed. Simply put, it looked like cheap and lazy handyman work. The bathroom was a quite large space that could have been beautifully outfitted with a large shower, sort of like the "two person rain shower" described in the room listing. Instead the hotel put almost no attention into this space. Instead we found a simple vanity with scratches and missing knobs accompanied by a weird plastic shower stall insert that was barely high enough for a man to stand up in. Certainly not for two people, certainly not "luxury". It was like showering in a phone booth. This was a big missed opportunity for what could have been an impressive bathroom in the suite. The furniture in our room was supposed to be "modern" and "European" but instead in came off more like a college dorm room and we had to move the couch in order to watch the TV. The climate control unit on the upper floor was bulky, loud, and not something that should be found in a room at this price. Lastly, I realize the building is old but the floor in our room was VERY slanted. So much so that we took a video of a soda can being placed on the floor which instantly raced away on it's own. It was simply ridiculous. Ledges ownership and marketing want it to be something they are not living up to. The "high end" image put forward in marketing is just plain non-sense. My wife and I spent well more than we normally would with the expectation of a "luxury weekend" we could spend in a fancy hotel suite to get away before the holiday run around. Unfortunately, the state of this room completely ruined our weekend. Needless to say, we will not be back. read more

WOW. This hotel is unlike anything you'll see. It's so gorgeous! The falls are beautiful, the rooms are clean and beautifully furnished, the staff here are so kind and hospitable, and it's tucked away in a tiny historic little town. We stayed here for a night and I wish we booked for a longer period. Initially, we used a Groupon deal, so we got the room for a steal. However we wanted to upgrade for the jacuzzi suite and were pushed up to the best suite in the hotel! For an extra cost of course but definitely less than what it's actually worth. It was a two floor fully furnished loft. We went around May so the weather wasn't warm enough to stay our for too long in the night. There was a nice seating area around a fire pit on the deck. The view is gorgeous! Definitely 100% planning on coming back in the summer time. read more

So disappointed in this place spent the weekend in this trash dump of a room. I'm left wondering how it met any building code. Besides they ceiling falling apart the bad wood work , water stains . Carpets were stained bed failing apart . This by far one of the worst hotels I stayed in. And for almost 400$ a night that is why I'm writing this review. From the grass and weeds overgrown on the front sign. To the door trim not looking attached to 35 degree slop in the room. They workers were really nice. The view was nice but not from my room. About 2 hrs away from NJ/NYC via 80 & 84. Plug in Hawley Silk Mill in your gps & this boutique hotel is right at the back of this building. Spectacular view right at the hotel's balcony & Glass bar. Renovated suites excellent for a family with rooms above a winding staircase. Can be pricey so be sure to check groupon for better deals. Suites are equipped w/a fridge, microwave, toaster, dishwasher & utensils so you really do not need to bring anything from your kitchen. They serve coffee & bread for breakfast at the hotel's lobby. Accommodating staff. Hotel is clean & close to cvs, groceries & a few dining places. Things to do that's with in 10-15 miles. Found a great deal on groupon so we decided to stay 3 days 2 nights. At first I was nervous to book, due to having a 1 1/2 year old, but when I called Anne was the sweetest answering all of my questions with the most genuine tone. Once we arrived, we received a tour of the floor and all of the offers, as well as the run down of where to eat, what to do with the little one and which trails were the best to hike. Although the bike rental shop was closed we did enjoy everything they had to offer. The beautiful rooms, friendly staff, amazing views and locations to eat right downstairs or up the hill. Great for families or even a romantic getaway. Very quiet town! Nice get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. read more

I had booked the last room they had available for a weekend in Aug (summer hit spot I guess) what was nice is when I called the hotel to see if anything was available they only had a two bedroom suite that has a two min night stay and I honestly only needed it for one night. They were accommodating enough and allowed me to just booked the room only for Sat night. Getting here is a little tricky our GPS took us down a road that was block off so we had to turn around and go another way, when we went down the other road it seem we were going the wrong way but sure enough we were not. This hotel is very secluded and located on a dead end street. Apron arrival there was only one check in lady but we were able to be checked in fairly quickly. She then took us on a mini tour of the hotel and walked us to our room which was nice. When we got to the room we were surprised to see how big the suite was. There's a full kitchen, good size living area. Two full bedrooms on the 2nd floor (up spiral staircase) and 1.5 bath. We felt like we had out own apt for the night. The room was nice clean neat and had AC. The kitchen was fully loaded with kitchen wear we didn't use any besides the wine glasses but its there if you need it. At night when we returned to the hotel parking was tough because the restaurant was opened and there was no designated parking for hotel guest only. But we did find parking. We decided to go out on the great deck in the back of the hotel and have a few glasses of vino. The great deck was AMAZING!!! That only will make me come back. And to our surprise the deck was pretty empty so it was very peaceful and relaxing just what we wanted. There was a full bar set up on The deck which was nice. He did however pack up and leave around 11 pm. Coming from NYC that's early so bring your own if you would like to hang out longer. There was a nice fireplace in the middle of the great deck which was nice since it was a tab chilly. No noise even when the restaurant was still open. The great deck has three areas of deck so there's lots of space to hang out. When we got back to the room we had a very nice peaceful quiet sleep. Out room did not have a view of the waterfall it was the parking lot. In the morning you did however hear ppl out and about which was fine because it was already 9am. read more

This was our second stay at the Ledges Hotel, and we are looking forward to returning next year. We drove down from Buffalo to see the fall foliage, and visit with family. This is such a wonderful hotel. The staff is excellent, and are very accommodating. We had wanted to dine at the restaurant (Glass), but they were closed during our stay. It was fine as there are other fine dining restaurants in the area. Next year we'll be sure to come when they are opened, though. However, everyday we had tea (Harney & Sons) on the patio overlooking the beautiful falls, and sat near by a beautiful fire. Truly a gorgeous hotel in a beautiful setting. Just stayed there for two nights for the first time. We will definitely be going back again. The staff was so nice, each and every one of them. We were snowed in and they had food brought in for us by someone. We ate at Glass on Sunday night and everything was so delicious. Definitely try the Brussels sprouts even if you are not normally a fan, I could eat them every day! On Monday we had reservations at Settlers Inn and because of the weather they had someone shuttle us over there! How accommodating! This is a place you come to relax and enjoy the company of whom you are with. There is chess and scrabble boards in the common room and a beautiful fire place. Plenty of seating in comfortable chairs and couches. The hotel is very modern, which is my style. If you like traditional then you would not be a fan but if you like simple and modern this is the place for you. Actually the gentlemen who designed the Apple Store in NYC is the person who designed the layout and interior. (That was a fun fact to find out.) Loved it and will definitely be going back again! It is a Five Star hotel!!! Although one light stand was missing a knob, rain fall shower was inoperative on steam sauna and it one of the light bulb was out in the bathroom, it was a great place. I been to NYC hotels, NJ hotels, Philly hotels, pretty much We, my fiancé and i stay when my she comes visit from out of the country. This place has good quality of kitchen needs. Great sink, great fridge, great stove, great knifes, great pots and pan, just over all great! It has the room temperature setting plus a portable heater in cause you get really cold during winter time. They give you plenty of towels and of course you can always ask for more. It is a small compact place but i think its a great place for love of two or even for family for four(two bedroom). Bed is great! Mattress is good, only because i like hard mattress. But! The sheet, pillow, blanket, all on point Just keep in mind, this place has some time, its old and authentic! Woods are in great finish, just because of time it has curves here and there. Interior design is classic and simple on fleek!! This place is great over all! Quiet area, sound of nature, sound of water fall, Price is good( of course price can be lower, what everyone wants in this world) I would come back later in time. Beautiful location and scenery. If you book certain rooms the price is nice with a free breakfast thrown in from the settlers inn but other and better rooms are way to much. We had room 111 and someone was working above us till almost 11 scraping a floor or something like that. It looks like a office and not a sleeping room above it. Tried calling the desk but nobody on duty after a certain hour. The bed was NOT comfortable. Way to hard and not a good mattress. The on grounds restaurant is closed Monday and Tuesday which as a hotel restaurant it should be open every day. . They have a good sitting room with nice danish's and coffee and decks overlooking the falls. A lot of good and a lot of bad as well. The fact that the bed was to hard and noisy after 10 from workers at night made our sleep difficult an hence the lower rating of 2 stars. Fix these 2 things and it would be a 4. read more
