The best thing, Happy Days is only 4 miles from one of the greatest attractions in New York ....Bethel Woods, the 69' Woodstock Concert Field and the historic Woodstock Museum (which is a must see... you'll thank me later). The campgrounds are covered in pine trees, so you awake to great, fresh smelling air. It's very clean. The showers, bathrooms and rec room were immaculate. I drove my RV here, but on the premises, you can rent well restored, classical 3-wheel campers for a minimal fee and spend the night in camping luxury (and instead of my gas guzzling RV, I'll bring my car next time, instead and still save).... Tim, one of the owners, is great. From his story, he had no intention of running a campsite. He was in corporate management. He came to Happy Days as a kid. When the woman who owned the site told him, he'd have to find another place to camp next year ... the wheels went into motion. This campsite is Tim and his brother's baby and the care and the high standards they have also shows in their appreciation of their customers ... and I'm sure that comes from having originally been a customer of the campsite. Make sure you make reservations in advance, especially when Bethel Woods has a concert planned for the weekend. I was going to stay an extra day but I waited too long. We have stayed at similar state campgrounds with no amenities for $25-$30 a night but to pay premium rates is insane. Legoland and NYC aren"t far but you need to absolutely have a car as there are no trips or shuttles despite all the potential it has to be amazing again. We tried to get an Uber since we were in a motorhome and didn't bring our car but gave up after no driver would take our trip as they don't seem to like going there. It's the biggest bait and switch we have ever seen on a campground and I expect if Good Sam ever bothers to go back to review or check the campground, they would re-rate them appropriately. Definitely wished we had visited this campground at its peak as it sounds like it was great.

But most important to us: We work from home and are only able to take extended trips by working wherever we are. It is VITAL that we have reliable internet to do this, however, so we always call ahead about the wifi. Before we rented, we called, asked about the wifi situation and were assured we would have a spot with a strong signal. My husband owns a software development company that customizes systems for businesses, and we have to be available to our staff of developers and programmers mornings and evenings. The internet did not work... at all. When we attempted to contact the owner/manager(?) by phone, there was no answer. Our voicemail messages went unreturned. Our email was also ignored. We finally got a return text but the owner said we should try getting on the wifi outside (in the cold). She then suggested we should enlist the help of a neighbor to connect (Again, we own a tech company. Not knowing how was never the issue.). She was very rude, dismissive and then devolved from the person we had just seen walking everywhere claiming they couldn't help us, because they can't walk, were tired, in pain and "about to be sick". We discovered that there was an up charge for "premium wifi"... So, if that is indeed the case, we just needed someone to take our credit card number by phone to give us the premium access to the internet. We suspect "premium internet" is a myth, since as soon as we requested it, the owner stopped replying to our messages. The final message we received was an ALL CAPS claim of being practically at death's door. If that's the case, someone else should be onsite to handle issues. We will be requiring our rental fee back. Avoid this place. It's pretty much falling apart, and the personnel here appear to have zero interest in taking care of guests' needs.

The owners are nice and accommodating. I called to make a reservation and was able to do so. It was $35.00 a night. The price includes your campsite, fire pit, access to kayaks, showers, and bathroom. To be clear, we picked a site where you can set up a tent and not an RV. But RV sites are also available. Check in was a breeze and was brought to our site once we checked in. Wood is sold on the site. Its a dollar per log. We did see a bear by the garbage and immediately called the owners to let them know. They did come and close the garbage bins and made a lot of noise to lure the bear away. Make sure after you eat you put all food and drinks in your car and leave nothing out once you head to bed. This will attract bears if you leave stuff out over night.

They have a stocked pond on site as well as a pool, splash pad and mini spa. We've stayed on sites- W-4, W-7, F-4 and have had family stay in Cabins throughout our time here. All sites and cabins are well kept, tidy and provide both elements of a private and social gathering. The bathhouse is near the main office while the other restrooms throughout property are no more than a 2-3 minute walk from your site. The cabins do have a full bathroom and you do not need to hold and press to keep the shower head on. The Cabins also offer a gazebo with propane grill. The nature trail on site is short but can be challenging with unlevel ground and nature's confetti (wet leaves) ultimately bringing you towards Lake Warren (bonus there is a beautiful koi pond on the right hand side of the residential gravel road in the residential area). Past the pool area there are also basketball courts and a tennis court. Every weekend there are activities that are family and budget friendly. We can't wait to return.

We were told what site we were going to be at and we proceeded on. On the phone making reservation it was made clear we would be amongst brush & trees/bushes, well that was NOT the case. We were put in what was apparently just cleared & created as new sites. It was a clear cut stone parking lot. No brush, no trees. VERY CLOSE together sites. Not the camping feel at all. We enjoy a campsite surrounded by nature & woods. We booked their special of camp two consecutive wknds and you can leave the camper there. After spending one night we decided we did not want to be there the following wknd. We spoke w/ the office & the woman took notes and said the office manager would have to make the decision on refund & that SHE would be in all day the following day. We took many walks w/the dog & had no issues until Saturday early evening. There is a home on the property (assuming the owners home). As we were walking we were approached by two dogs OFF leash. One was calm, the other not so much. Having had a run in with a neighborhood dog and the dog jumping on me this was not looking like a good situation. A man & woman strolled up the road w/ no sense of urgency. I yelled & voiced myself while hovering over our dog and my boyfriend trying to block their dog who was growling & barking. Keep in mind it was Pet wknd at the campground. It was said to me after getting quite upset "Are you hurt yet?' Not something someone should say when encountering an aggressive dog. The next day we were told by the office that a manager was on HIS way to talk to us. He was a very young man assuming related to the owners. He was though very kind & polite & said a refund would be issued. I did mention the dog situation, and he was not very responsive so definitely thinking now those were his parents. Site next door was very loud Saturday night, with yelling & a dj size speaker outside that was still going at 10:45PM, quite hours are 10PM-7AM. No one riding around checking on things. Again, the campground was nice, clean & mostly friendly staff, but we will not return due to some rules that ownership/management do not follow. Note-they have mini golf & charge $8.00 per person, showers by the office are push button & one only stayed on for 3 seconds. Did let manager know.
