I have been going to this campsite since I am 16 months old (1981), my parents have been going since about eight years prior. I am excited to go this year owing to the fact that I am now taking my 16 month old daughter. Happy Days holds a very special place in m heart, I have such fond memories coming here as a child which I have continued to make into my adulthood. My family and I always try to make it out here at least once a summer. While there are seasonal lots with RV's we like to "rough" it in tents. I use roughing it in a light sense since yes you do in fact bring your own food, cook over a campfire or portable stovetop, sleep on the floor, in a tent, etc.; there are still exceptionally clean facilities to take a hot shower, brush your teeth and go to the bathroom (except at night when you don't want make a mad dash to the bathroom in the pitch dark with all the things that go bump in the night, lol)(in all my years the wildest animal i have seen were deer).There is also an indoor building with a play area and pool table and a large open field with horseshoes, swings and an antiquated slide and monkey bars. The woman, Karen, who has owned this site for the past 25+ years has maintained a beautiful space in the Catskills mountains. She has recently sold it so I will be interested in seeing if any changes have been made, I hope all for the better if not at all. I know she was interested in selling to someone who has been a longtime customer in order to maintain the integrity of the place. I hope the was the case! Every year I get excited for my camping trip and my friends think I am crazy for "roughing" it but its hard to describe how happy I am here, it soothing and feels like home, which is due to all my memories here! My friends and I stayed here for MysteryLand weekend and we absolutely love this place, nothing but good things to say about it. The family that runs and owns the campground were very friendly and genuinely cared about their campers having a good time. They told us that we could do whatever we wanted to with our camp sight because for the weekend it was our own, they would just appreciate it if we made it easy to clean up when we left. They even told us there was no rush to check out the day we left, just as long as we were out by the end of the work day. They were whipping up burgers and meatball subs and other delicious foods around the clock; the quality and prices were well worth the wait after the festival. They also had shuttles going to and from the festival, the price included in the $100 ML weekend camping fee. Everything about this place is perfect. There's only one shower facility and that's near the main entrance, a bit of a walk, but a little walking never hurt anyone. They had porta-potties set up around the camp sight so that you wouldn't have to walk the distance to the bathroom in the middle of the night, and honestly, they were exceptionally clean for porta-potties! SHORT VERSION Anyways, Happy Days Campground really knows how to cater to their guests and they are some of the nicest people I met over the weekend. $100 for the entirety of the ML weekend, around-the-clock shuttles included, is a reasonable/doable price. Camping at Happy Days Campground was a fabulous experience. Not only are the new owners accommodating and very helpful, there is an amazing array of things to do in the area. We choose to go on a weekend the Bethel Woods concert venue held the ZZTop / Kidrock concert. The campground is almost exactly 4 miles from the venue, and about as easy to access as anything. We rented a site with an RV and our adult daughter and boyfriend tented on our site as well. The group of us were extremely comfortable. We cooked and ate all our meals at the site and had a fire each night. We slept like babies!. What I would like to emphasize is the cleanliness of the restrooms!! There is plenty of wood available (as you cannot bring wood across state lines) and a little store for any sundries you may have forgotten, that has coffee ready every morning. Not only is it the most beautiful concert venue ( with an incredibly varied line up) in close proximity there is a local race track, a distillery and some very cute local artisanal shops that promote the feel of Woodstock. If you are an outdoors-person there is camping, hiking, hunting, fishing, canoeing ect again within 10 miles of campground. The campground itself is filled with trees and non scary wildlife, and is comfortably rustic. We met a couple who have been going for 16 years and recently purchased a site... It was an enjoyable weekend and we are making plans to return next spring. read more

I do alot of traveling in the summer for concerts and spend alot of money on hotels. There are occasions where I try to find a nice campsite close to the venue to save a few $$. My usual concern when camping is the bathroom/shower situation. Happy Days Campground was the perfect find! It is located only aprox 4 miles from Bethel Woods Performing Arts Center. The campground was beautiful and well maintained. The owners Tim and George went out of their way to make sure that our stay was perfect. There are spacious tent sites which offer a nice size firepit for a group to gather around. I didn't use it but I did notice a nice little playground area where families can bring their kids. Looked like a swing set and slide with a horseshoe pit as well. There was a rec hall with a pool table, ping pong table and chairs in case you were looking for some indoor activities. The bathroom facilities were immaculate. They were clean the entire weekend. Flushable toilets, sinks and hot shower stalls. I couldn't have asked for anything more. In talking to the owners, they mentioned that they just recently bought the campground earlier this year. They were very pleasant to chat with and seem like the right guys to be running this campsite. I've been there twice this summer for shows and am most definitely looking forward to my next visit. I cannot say enough good things about the Happy Days Campground. Tim, George and their staff make sure that your stay is awesome. The beautiful campsites and exceptionally clean bathrooms and showers can't be beat. There is also a playground with horseshoe pits and volleyball net and rec room with pool table, ping pong, foosball and air hockey. My husband and I had tickets for the Chicago concert at Bethel Woods Center on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015, so we checked in to the campground on Monday and set up camp. Our campsite had plenty of room for our tent and gazebo and there is a picnic table and fire ring at every site. On Tuesday the Happy Days Campground van (Magic Bus) took us to the Center for the concert and picked us up when it was over. The charge is $10 per person and well worth it!! No worries and you don't have to deal with the traffic after the concert. Wednesday we just hung out at our campsite, relaxed, and enjoyed the beautiful surroundings. Needless to say we made friends while we were there and will definitely be back! Thanks Tim and George and the rest of staff, family and friends for making our stay awesome! read more

Tim was a great host! Truly a one man band, adding to my visit to Bethel NY to visit Woodstock's museum just 4 miles away! which is convenient and awesome as well! Even though this is off season for most campers 12-1-16, in NY, Happy Days CG is a flag ship to what I would love to experience every where, year round! I traveled from Ohio to this camp site, once I arrived Tim got me squared away and help me to my site in complete darkness, with only the headlights of my '74 VW "BEETLE BUS" beaming in the darkness he explained to me with a kind voice The most important facilities, the Bathrooms! which I give a 5 star rating as well! warm and very clean & hot water! there is a lot here for family campers to enjoy in or outdoors. 2 nights under the NY stars! I didn't need the BIG APPLE! I got Happy Days CG!! Highly recommend to all. I will be coming back. Thanks Tim. read more

We were four guys from Quebec City, Canada and we did enjoy the whole Happy Days experience. We came for Luke Bryan's show at Bethel Performing Arts Center and we met alot of good people at the campground, before and after the show. We really appreciated the hospitality of the owners. Even one night, when we decided to call for a pizza delivery, we've been told that they were not delivering and guess what... the lady of the campground took us for a ride to the pizza shop which was a couple of miles outside the area and brought us back to the campground! We also appreciated the cleanliness of the washrooms / showers facility. It was more than neat. We will be more pleasured to come back next year and recommand this Campground to everyone (family, group of friends, couple, etc)! read more

What a beautiful setting! Only 4 miles from Bethel Woods venue. Tim and George were great. So accommodating in every way; very laid back. The grounds and facilities were very clean. My husband and I came with an RV. There is water and electric hook-ups. There is a dump station on the way out. What I liked most is that the RV's weren't lined up. The spots were laid out nicely around the grounds. Each space has a table and fire pit. Tim and George also provide a van ride to Bethel Woods. It doesn't get better than that! So convenient. I rely heavily on reviews when choosing a place to stay. So, that's why I'm leaving my review for everyone else. Enjoy this great place! read more

Best camping experience I've ever had! This family owned and ran campground was perfect. We had an amazing time camping as well as getting to know the family. We drove from MN to Happy Days for a festival and I am so glad we found this campground. Nothing beats shuttle rides (in a flower van!) when you want the to and from the festival, hot showers and grilled food at the end of the night by the crew. The sites were huge and included electric hook ups if needed. We stayed at the top of "Hill Road" and I couldn't of picked a better spot. What a great place! And so close to Bethel Woods(tock)! Most places offer tent or RV options, but Happy Days also rent old campers you can use (which is what we did). Our camper was clean, everything worked (power, water, gas)- it was a nice option as we hadn't been camping in awhile. The restrooms were fully stocked, almost meticulously clean. The campground itself doesn't have a ton of units, so you don't feel like people are right on top of you. The store had everything we needed (ice, wood, coffee, bug spray, etc) and Tim was one of the nicest guys you could hope to meet! We were thrilled to have found Happy Days and cannot wait to come back next year! read more

First time at Happy Days Campground this past weekend & had the greatest time!! Very welcoming and the staff was so friendly. Bathrooms were clean with tile showers & attached dressing rooms!!
