The period decor, the homey (but classic, tasteful) touches, the unobtrusive but engaged interaction, superb food and service and the quiet, convenient location made this a great stay for us. I've stayed in so many B&Bs over this years - this is in my top rank.

She allowed us to check in early in order to get prepared and she had beverages waiting in a hall refrigerator for us from our long four hour drive. The rooms and bathrooms were super clean (I'm a stickler for clean bathrooms) and the breakfast was to die for. You could tell that the food was prepared with so much LOVE. Her place was such a haven from all the busyness and we even got to have a few laughs together over breakfast. I highly recommend you choose E. Kellog for you next getaway experience. You won't regret it!

We enjoyed the outdoors, and for a bit had the lake to ourselves. However, I can't imagine peak season when there would be more boats on the lake - it's a nice distance to kayak, but as soon as others are on the lake it doesn't feel very bit. While we were out, there was a very irresponsible boater who essentially circled us at a high speed and sent our kayaks wild when the waves converged. Luckily we are experienced and didn't tip and find ourselves swimming in the lake - but that boater was truly a jerk. So, if you're looking to rent a place for a week - my recommendation is going in the off-season and keep an eye out for bad speed boaters. :)

The area was so peaceful and relaxing that we decided we weren't ready to leave. The wonderful owners made adding an extra night incredibly easy and accommodating, which we really appreciated. We stayed in Cabin 3, which had two bunk beds and a double bed, and everything was very clean and comfortable. Having a full private bathroom with hot water was a huge plus, along with a fully operable air conditioner and a Roku TV when we wanted to unwind at night. You also have the pond available for swimming, and the entire property has that quiet, laid-back atmosphere that makes you actually feel like you got away from everything. The honor-system general store was another great touch. It was extremely convenient to grab ice, food items, souvenirs, and even old-time candy without having to leave the property. The staff was extremely pleasant and welcoming throughout our stay. And having KC Peppers Bar & Grill right there is a major bonus and definitely one of the highlights of the area. What really makes Lake Wanoka special, though, is everything surrounding it. Within minutes you have incredible local dairies, farms, butchers, delis, and restaurants. Hartler Farms was a must for fresh milk and meat, and Alpine Restaurant & Deli had some of the best beef bacon and Canadian bacon I've ever had. You can spend the day exploring the area, come back with some of the best local meat and dairy you can find, and cook an unbelievable meal right at camp. It really gives you the best combination of camping, comfort, great local food, and peace and quiet. For us, it was well worth the four-plus-hour drive. The fact that we came for the weekend and ended up adding another night probably says it better than anything else could. Peaceful, clean, accommodating, and surrounded by some fantastic local food and farms. We would absolutely come back. Five stars!

We used to live up the road from you on Rock Lake Dr and for about 12 years we did an airbnb with our carriage house and would never think of making our guests clean up and take away their garbage and do the laundry. WE also only charged 45.00 for cleaning a 3 bedroom private home. You on the other hand expect us to pay 185.00 cleaning fee and you want us to do the laundry, clean the dishes, vacuum he house, clean the kitchen, take all the garbage with us in our car and if we leave it you charge an enormous removal of garbage for 25.00 a bag. We had to clean the house when we got there, the kitchen was dirty and the bathrooms were not cleaned in a while, dusty and spider webs in the showers. There were dead bugs that we had to clean up also. Most of the light bulbs in the house do not work and I do know that you are aware of it due to other feedback about this issue. We had to go out and spend 40.00 for air fresheners because the whole house smelt very musty. We paid for a 4 bedroom log cabin with a washer and dryer. We were not able to use that floor at all due to the smell of mold. We did though wash all the linens and towels as required and cleaned a second time before we left. In your add it states that we are to receive incidentials at a value of 125.00 but instead there was used hand soap and a broken shampoo dispenser hanging off the wall. The one upstairs one in the shower was disguistingly filthy. I took many pictures upon my arrival of all the broken and dirty stuff in the cabin. The railing on one side of the deck stairs to go into the cabin is missing and I fell in the dark thinking there was a railing. Luckily I did not get hurt. I fell in the weeds and got my clothes dirty. I was not happy about that. The outside of the property is very unkept and nothing like your pictures. There is no exhaust fan over the stove for cooking. The front left burner does not work and gas escapes when you turn on which is a saftey hazard and the stove was filthy as well as the griddle which is really gross and should be thrown out. I am still waiting for my 100.00 deposit returned, plus 100.00 back for having to clean the cabin. I also want 25% of my rental fee returned due to not being able to use the downstairs due to mold and overall sloppy and unkept appearance. I am waiting upon your response before I leave feedback.
