I thought my teeth were fine since I floss and brush everyday but was still feeling here and there sensitivity. I was referred by a friend to check this location out- he really hyped it up and I thought I'd give it a go (especially since I needed it). I was welcomed as soon as I walked in. The vibe inside is very chill. The staff and Dr. Spilotro were amazing. They made me feel very comfortable and not judged (even though I deserved it). I had to get some work done due to my negligence but Dr. Spilotro took care of me! I've gone to North Mountain dentistry for over 10 years. Since he has left, the practice has changed drastically. Although there is new technology, it seems they care more about money and upselling (tooth brushes, waterpiks, etc.) than their patients. I used to know everyone in the office and they actually took the time to get to know you. Now, it's like they rush through appts and try to get you out as fast as possible (which can be nice, but when did places become all about financial gain). I had to cancel an upcoming appt due to a family emergency and even tho I gave over 24 hours notice, since I didn't give 48 hours they said they are charging me a $60 fee. I can't even tell you the amount of times I had to wait because they were "running behind" or "short staffed" but apparently my time isn't as valuable because I'm unable to charge them a fee for making me wait. Welp, that cancellation fee was the final straw for me. They can get their fee and lose a patient who has gone there for years because I value customer service, understanding, and empathy over their advanced technology and lack of customer care. UPDATE to response: I called your practice with tears rolling down my face as I had just received bad news but wanted to call to give you notice as soon as possible that I wouldn't be able to make my appointment. There was zero concern or compassion from Jenny (I believe that was her name) just a monotone "there's a $60 cancellation fee for less than 24 hours notice, oh I meant less than 48 hour notice." Meanwhile I'm choking back tears all while trying to be considerate of YOUR time. So no, I don't believe your office offers compassion or empathy. I did receive your one voicemail attempt to talk to me about my review. Again, my time is just as valuable and while you "attempt" to not run behind schedule, I also attempted to give you notice of my emergency and not being able to make the appt yet you feel the need to charge me and unfortunately I cannot do the same. There's no need to contact me further, I will not be returning nor will I recommend. I hope this office can return to what it once was when it comes to patient care and real compassion.

The next time I went to book my 4 month recurring cleaning-the receptionist told me I had to schedule for drilling cavities as well. I said no thank you I'm going to reverse them naturally. Then the receptionist bluntly told me that was 'impossible.' A year later, my cavities are confirmed gone by my new biologic dentist. I no longer go to Swiss "biologic" dentistry because it clearly wasn't a truly holistic or biological practice. They lied to my face and dismissed the body's ability to heal. Always trust your gut and find practitioners who respect it too.

I was referred here by my general dentist as I've always played with the idea of Invisalign even…read morethough my teeth weren't that crooked. It was during Covid--the era of wearing a mask and working from home so I was like why not try it? People can't see them if i am wearing a mask and it's easier to brush and floss my teeth when I'm at home. I have teeth grinding issues and won't wear a night guard--even ones custom made cuz it just makes me slobber everywhere and so thick. So I figured I'd give Invisalign a try and I didn't mind these in my mouth! Plus, when I first initially wore them, it actually curbed my appetite cuz I'd be like, uh, do I really want to brush and floss my teeth? Thats a lot of work so I stopped snacking as much. Can you tell how lazy I am? Lol So my initial consultation, they took photos and had a plan/time outline and provided the cost estimate. I signed up right away and I think they were surprised by that. If I recall, it was initially supposed to take a year max? I was really good about following procedures, but my teeth are hard to move. It didn't want to move and if I skipped it for even one day, it would revert back. Super annoying. After I finished the packs, Dr. Wachtel was like, we can finish if you want, but I'm not totally satisfied these are straight and recommend you do this longer. I was a bit annoyed, but decided to plug along and get more Invisalign packs. One thing I liked was that the cost was inclusive of everything. So if I needed more Invisalign's, that would be provided at no extra cost. Also if I wanted a permanent retainer, which I was iffy about and he was like you can decide when we finish up, that was also included. Plus, after I paid, they ended up giving me a check cuz they found out my insurance covered more than they though. You don't know how surprised i was by that and that further earned my trust. Fast forward to this month, and I am DONE. He took off my attachments and that was painless. He gave me my final Invisalign retainers--just a tad more durable than the regular trays and I love it cuz it keeps my teeth straight and helps with my grinding. I have one more three month follow-up and then I think I'm done? Nancy, the receptionist is soooooo nice and sweet. I always had to change my appointments, but she always found a time for me. Super accommodating and she actually remembers who you are. Dr. Wachtel is very personable and easy to chat with. We always talked about food and traveling so it was always an enjoyable experience. Go, but know it may take longer than originally estimated. As long as you follow the procedure, you will get straight teeth:)
