Woodfired Wonders Continues to amaze. Starting with an awesome value is a $5.00 gourmet hamburger. The pork chop is very flavorful and grilled to perfection. The steaks are awesome. Its impossible not to have a great meal. The side dish portions are more than enough to split between 2 or more. The BEST macaroni and cheese I have ever had! The bar is stocked to please many. They might not have all the specific brands, but the have high quality spirits in almost every category. The servers are very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and the ingredients used in every dish. The atmosphere is warm, inviting and subdued. A place where you can enjoy a meal and still have a conversation without shouting. This is a young business, experiencing growing pains. It's not fast food by any means. The chef lovingly prepares each dish. No boxed products. Fresh, local and of impeccable quality. Tables fill quickly, and customers aren't rushed. A place where the staff, encourages feedback, and always striving to do better. Well worth the drive from surrounding area for this unquine dinning experience. They strive to make each visit "Epic" and to make you feel they are part of the "Fam. Reservations are suggested. read more

Incredible burger! Perfectly cooked, seared on the outside, juicy on the inside and for $5! You can't get anything of this quality for $5 anymore! Will definitely be making this an after work tradition. Come for the burger, stay for dessert. Thank you! read more

Great food with fabulous prices! I had the 14 oz. Tomahawk pork chops and scallops, they were both wonderful!

Great food and great service! After reading about this local restaurant my husband and I had it on our list to try. We stopped in on a Saturday evening. We were seated right away. The place is beautiful with its black and white vibes. They had several specials and a great menu selection. I tried the salmon sandwich. It was delicious and huge portion. My husband had the perch special with a side of truffle fries and broccoli. He enjoyed his meal as well. The service was also great. Very attentive and offered suggestions on menu items. I would love to try the steak next time! read more

Ate there last night for dinner. Food was wonderful. Waitress did a great job getting us served. Prices were AMAZING. Would definitely go again. Cute little restaurant. read more

I had the Salmon sandwich, it was delicious. Rick had the steak sandwich which was delicious also. The service was good and the staff are friendly. While they will have a full service bar, they currently do not have an alcohol license and they do not entertain BYOB. It has the potential of a wonderful ambiance, but it's not there yet. This is a new establishment and are having some growing pains or kinks. For example, the bathrooms are at the end of a long hall, just past the back door of the kitchen. Unfortunately, the bussing station is back there too. It was hard to get past. This was a Saturday afternoon and the place was not busy. The bathroom wile nice needed a good cleaning. We will be back. Hope the kinks get worked out. Good luck. read more

Great food and even better service! We will definitely return when in the area! And loved the atmosphere! read more

So nice to have a new restaurant that serves "happy food" and offers breakfast, lunch and dinner! "Happy food" meaning clean food...real maple syrup, organic ketchup (no high fructose corn syrup), fresh ingredients and made to order. We had breakfast here on their very first morning open, so they were working hard to get acclimated to customers. They did a great job! (There were a couple of minor hiccups, none of which I will mention here because they were very minor and it was their very first day!) I'm including a few pictures and I apologize that we had already started eating, but the food was delicious and we were hungry! I ordered a veggie omelet and it came with fried potatoes. I added one slice of French toast. It was all so yummy! The omelet had a nice amount of fresh veggies and was deliciously seasoned. The potatoes are small chunks (way better than your typical big chunk breakfast potatoes), and the French toast was soft on the inside with a beautiful crunchy outside. And, the real maple syrup was perfect! My husband ordered the "proper breakfast plate". It consisted of 2 eggs (he had them scrambled), 4 slices of bacon (which was delicious bacon), 2 sausage links (again...delicious!! These are not your regular run of the mill sausage links!), fried potatoes and an English muffin. And, we both had coffee. Our total bill was $30.23...a reasonable amount for the quality of what we received! Absolutely delicious food! Atmosphere is great-clean and inviting. Staff is friendly and welcoming. We definitely plan to come here again! All of their menus look amazing! Next time we'll probably try lunch or dinner. read more

ribs were excellent, some of the best I've ever had, service was excellent, prices were very reasonable. Quite and easy to converse in nice size booth. read more

An adorable and relaxing space with delicious food. They weren't expecting to open today with the weather but my boyfriend and I are so glad they were... They did not disappoint at all. We started with the "Quick Flight Combo Appetizer" which includes deep fried pickles, mushroom fries, crispy tofu bites, and tempura battered brussel sprouts. My entree was the Sirloin Steak with Broccolini... OMG steak was able to b3 cut witha butter knife and absolutely delicious. Perfectly done, juicy and had beautiful sear marks from the grill. My boyfriend had the Shrimp & Scallops with long grain wild rice, & broccolini. He enjoyed every last bite. Even let me try a scallop since my last experience (not here, but years ago) with scallops wasn't great... I now want scallops again. Lol We will definitely be coming back again. Despite being a very blistery day with a couple inches of snow and only having a couple people working the service was great. It is a bit pricey, but definitely worth the price. read more

I want to preface that the server here was great and not the problem. However, everything else about my experience here was not up to a standard. First off, my friend's sirloin steak (priced at $25) is advertised as 8oz steak. For this price, one would expect a decent size steak. However much to our surprise, the steak arrives and is smaller than the palm of my hand. If he ordered a sirloin steak with a side of Mac and cheese, it came as a Mac and cheese with a side of steak. Second. AVOID THE GARLIC FRIES AT ALL COSTS. These were the worst things I have ever come across at a restaurant. Lastly, although the service was good, we had been waiting for 90 minutes before any food came. The restaurant's saving grace was its banana cream pie. read more

Wood Fired Wonders - Mac and cheese and a side of steak. - Steakhouses Near Me - Oberlin, Ohio

went here for the first time a few months ago and really liked it. went back 2 weeks ago and was very disappointed. Only one waitress for the entire restaurant (she did her best to keep up) but when she came to take our order she mentioned they are redoing their menu and when we get our bill the price might be more than what is on the menu. Who does that? surprise, surprise! Scallop/shrimp skewers were $18. on the menu but our bill showed $24. on top of that there was no rice as stated on the menu- they brought a bowl of dried out rice. Then the cook came out with 1 scallop on a plate- said they shorted it when they made it. Not sure whats going on here but we dont like surprises so wont be going back. read more

Outstanding menu for meat lovers and vegans alike. One of my new favorite restaurants. Most appetizers and entrees are fresh ingredients and cooked on a wood fire. Service was friendly and very attentive. Ambiance is plain and simple. It's not themed or glitzy. But the food...the food...it is out of this world! read more

Happy Hour on Mondays is beyond fantastic!!! Drinks and wine prices greatly discounted and bottles half-price!!! The menu is tasty and our waitress outstanding!! read more

I've been there a couple times now for happy hour to enjoy $1 off my draft beer and $2 off any apps. The mushrooms fries are portobellos that have been sliced and then battered. They're awesome. Not nearly as amazing as the fried shrimp though. These are next level. Giant fried shrimp served up in a martini glass w cocktail sauce in the middle. I can't wait to stop in to try these again. Going to keep exploring the menu further. The service is prompt and attentive. Derrick and Erin will definitely take care of you if you're at the bar. The decor and ambiance put off a finer dining vibe. Music is present but not overbearing. I'll report back when I head farther down the menu. For now they've earned the 5 stars! read more

They're certainly nice and trying but every aspect of our dining experience was horrible. From service to food. I kept on looking for a hidden camera. It was comical. read more

Stopped in here for lunch with my son based on a recommendation from the owner of For Ewe (a yarn shop next door). It is a small space and the tables are pretty close together. However, the staff was excellent (friendly and kept checking on us) and the food was really good. My son did the "Build Your Own Burger" option. I got the salmon burger, which was a fillet, not a patty. Very, very good. Be prepared to wait. They are short staffed in the kitchen so orders took time. Well worth the wait though!! read more

The food was really excellent. I got one of the steaks with a side of grilled mushrooms and it was the best meal I've eaten in the town of Oberlin. It's too pricey for me to eat there on a regular basis but I highly recommend it to anyone looking for something closer to fine dining (or getting their parents to pay.) The staff were quite friendly, I left my favorite hat at the table and one of them ran after me to give it back. My only complaint is that the ceiling was most dissonant and I found it distracting. However this may be due to my personal idiosyncrasies. Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 3/5 read more

I was highly disappointed in the food. I ordered the T-bone steak medium and it came to me well done and had no flavor. I had to dip the steak in A-1 sauce and I can't stand A-1 Sauce. For the prices they charge you could get a better steak somewhere else. read more

Would not recommend, food is tasteless, staff is inconsiderate, and prices too high. There are too many better restaurants out there, will not be returning. read more

We came here for lunch today and loved the menu and the food and the service. The restaurant is simple and tastefully decorated... The menu is just long and varied enough to be excited to come back frequently. We ordered a sandwich and a salad with perfectly grilled shrimp and cake and coffee and iced tea and it was all delicious and beautifully presented. We were treated at the end to a Brazilian lemonade that the chefs brother had created. I hope it goes on the menu soon! Thank you for such a great experience. read more

Exquisitely prepared food! The menu is extensive with an array of appetizers, entrees, sides and desserts. My husband raved about the salmon and I was thrilled with the "fork and knife portobello," so deliciously seasoned with a chick pea sauce. On a previous visit, I had a side of the mac'n cheese - to die for! - and the portion was so generous, I had another meal with the leftovers. Enough cannot be said about the VERY kind and attentive staff. The restaurant, intimate and charming, was packed, and the staff did an excellent job of readying tables and seating people. We're already planning our next outing to Wood Fire Wonders. read more

Went in earlier this week for lunch finally, and it was excellent--what a delicious burger and veg side. I'd heard they had some kinks to work out when they first opened. They have done so. Great food, great service. I'm really looking forward to going back for dinner and checking out the cocktail menu. read more
