Hidden gem! I have heard about this place for years and was finally in the area to stop in. This is one of those fish markets that you go out of state to find. Finally had a chance to stop by and try this place out. I beat a rush by a hot minute so thankfully the wait wasn't long. They have a Lenten Menu so I ordered off of that. I got two perch sandwich combos, one without a bun, cabbage and noodles and pierogis. Everything was delicious! This is the perch I remember from being a kid. So much better than any other place I've been too locally. Perfect breading, flakey and delicious! The cabbage and noodles and pierogis were amazing as well. And prices? Great! I will say that the perch was fresh but that's where it ended. It was greasy and the breading tasted like I bit into a block of salt, coleslaw was very bland and dry, potato salad really didn't have a nice taste plus the salt and pepper packets were like so small that you would need 50 of each of them to get some taste. I had much better at Midway Oh Boys. Save your money and go to a legitimate Lake Eire fish restaurant like Jolly Rodgers or Long John Silvers, just as greasy. read more

So I have to say the catfish sandwich is a yes..did I say yessssssssss for me. A nice size catfish fillet. Made to order fresh.. I order mine with extra tartar and add onions. Comes on a nice size hamburger bun.. for me, splash some hotsauce that baby is ready to go. I found this spot at the end of last year. Best kept secret for fresh seafood! Their Walleye entree is big enough to share. Lobster bisque is decadent and tasty. Sides are fresh. We like the potato salad and coleslaw. Service is excellent also. Don't expect much for ambiance, it's a small place to order your food and leave. With the summer weather there is a covered patio area you can sit and eat. We were coming in from out of town for the Supermodified and Sprint car races and planned our early dinner around this highly rated spot... But unfortunately they don't respect their clients time and did not update Yelp or Google that they were taking the day off. Nothing infuriates me more than an establishment wasting my precious time. If you want to take a Saturday off fine, but update your hours for a predetermined absence. In the meantime we passed plenty of other options and our dinner was ruined by this establishments lack of courtesy. read more

I have driven past this place a bunch of times and finally stopped last Friday. I gotta say this place has the best yellow perch sandwich....I wish I would had stopped here a long time ago! The sandwich is about $5 and definitely worth every penny of it! They offer fresh seafood and carry out meals. I have heard the lobster bisque is very good so I'll be stopping by for it next time! It's nice to have a good place for seafood and great carryout food near work (Lorain, there isn't much of anything around here for food), I will continue to give my business to a great place like this! read more

We have a traditional large clam bake each year in October. In the past, we have ordered the middle neck clams from a variety of places and have just been partially satisfied. This year's clams came from Ardick Seafood and were the absolute best we have ever had! They were clean and nice size. The price was the same as the other places but the quality surpassed all! Ordered 6 dozen uncooked washed Middlenecks - they were SO SO good. This place seems to do a huge amount of volume, which leads to fresher seafood. Clams were excellent and customer service was, too. I'll be back for sure. read more

A nice little restaurant/fish market. The food was pretty good and they had a great looking counter of fresh fish. Ardick Seafood seems like a good place for lunch and has a nice menu of seafood stuff to choose from. Ardick Seafood is better for carry out meals. There is no place to eat inside, but they do have picnic tables set up under and awning/tent so if you eat there make sure to go when it's nice out. I've only been here once, and if it wasn't so far away from home I definitely would make return trips there. read more

This is a difficult review for me to write about this quaint seafood store and take out restaurant. I might have hit it on a bad day, or perhaps the fryer was not totally up to temperature when I arrived. I snagged the perch dinner and onion rings based on the recommendations here. The batter was average "fast food" type batter, and did not present a unique characteristic. I found the onion rings ok, and very oiled. (From the container near the fryers, it looks like soybean oil.) Hoping the cole slaw and tarter sauce would take it over the top, I sampled them and found the tarter tasting like a commercial blend. I did not find any unique flavor over tones in either the tarter sauce or the cole slaw. I found the staff very pleasant and helpful. If you need to snag a quick fried fish lunch on a nice day, Ardick would fit the bill. Eating under the canopy on the picnic tables is pleasant on a nice fall day. Apparently this place has been around for 20+ years, but just recently discovered it! The fish market has fresh seafood selections, and they also have a take-out menu of sandwiches, fried fish platters, etc. The only prepared food I've tried so far is the lobster bisque, which is Deeeevine! Lots of chunks of lobster and has a wonderful fresh flavor and no unpleasant "fishiness" like store-bought lobster bisque. read more

This was the best seafood I had during my trip to Lake Erie last summer. I would even say the food was as enjoyable as it was at The Real Seafood Company. The perch dinners are wonderful that is what we usually get- they are always 5 star but this time around we got the frozen jumbo shrimp and shrimp seafood salad and the whole family is having intestinal issues and we had to call off work so a $40 price of food is actually costing us hundreds of dollars due to lost wages. This is the second time we have gotten sick off the shrimp seafood salad- same thing happened 2 years ago we thought that was just a glitch. We won't be back after this time and the upcharge on using a credit card is insane- if you go make sure to bring cash and don't get the seafood salad. read more
