I have been to 2 other doctors and Grace Wong is the best! No judgement, really sweet and calm presence. I love Dr. Wong

Dr. Wong is amazing. I love coming here to see her because I always have so many questions. She's very patient with me as well and doesn't seem like she's in a rush like all the other reviews have stated. I originally started out at Tripler and I had such a horrible time, that I switched my insurance to one that Queens would accept and picked Dr. Wong. I was nervous coming here at first, but after speaking with her and getting to know her it's been a pleasure! This is my first pregnancy and I'm so happy I decided to go with her despite the reviews. The office staff is very nice and polite. Yes she sends you out to get blood work done else where, and the ultrasounds are not in this clinic. Depending on your insurance she'll send you to the Pan Am building for fetal diagnostics. But she gets back all the results and talks them over with you during your next visit. read more

Very similar experience with front staff. I am a patient of a retired doctor in that same office, but apparently neither Dr. Wong or Dr. Perry have enough time or consideration to assist me. I was told I go on a waiting list and if I had certain kinds of insurance they would not see me at all. Lucky for me, I had an acceptable type of insurance, but even if I felt I had an somewhat urgent condition, they would just put me on their "waitlist." If I really felt I needed to see a doctor sooner than 6 months, I should call someone else. So sad as my previous experiences (30+ years) with my retired doctor and staff had been nothing but pure professionalism and outstanding care. read more

I cannot put into words nor can words explain how grateful I am for Dr. Wong, she is truly extraordinary. I was referred to her by my former sister in law who works at the Queens Medical Center. I had been looking for an Obgyn for many years, well obviously not looking hard enough. I had recently found out I was expecting and was now forced to find an OB asap. But I was not about to settle for any OB, if I didn't like the staff I was gone, if the doctor was rude or uninterested I was gone. I had my mind set on my "dream" doctor and luckily I had found her. Unfortunately, I had miscarried as there was no heartbeat. Dr. Wong worked with me through this trying time. Trying to work around my health condition and find the best way for baby to pass. We tried the natural way, which it didn't all pass. We did the pills which had to be inserted that also did not fully work. Though she tried everything to avoid a D & C, it had to be done. She was there every step of the way. Before surgery, smiling at me as they wheeled me in and also after. I recently had a biopsy and will be having another procedure to remove the abnormal cells asap. She has been terrific in keeping me positive and explaining every detail and letting me know "don't worry I'll be there with you". Absolutely wonderful. If it wasn't for her, I'm not sure if they would have found the abnormalities soon enough. I have pure faith in her, I know that she will get it all out and I can enjoy life. I have never met an OB in which I trust as much as I do her. Dr. Wong, my angel, my life saver. Oh, her staff is wonderful too! Receptionist are friendly, smiling and always nice. Her assistants may not be all out aloha friendly, but they are great! Whenever I'm there, even if they are helping another patient I hear a "hey, Jerrae". Dr. Wong and staff you all rock! read more

I have never met the doctor, but the person that is covering the phone made sure that happened. First, I want to pick a new doctor because I changed the healthcare plan; The first reaction of the receptionist was- No, doctor won't take you, but you can try to send her records so she review them and maybe you get in (starting with the rejection of a pregnant women in need?) Second, once I had my records they wanted me to fax it, because they don't do email (no email in 21st century but fax). Thirdly, I was again rejected because I am currently covered by 2 plans- even though one of those would completely cover my visits and delivery. I picked a phone and called another office and had all done in 5 minutes. Wouldn't even waste time with such an unprofessional staff- even if the doctors are really good. read more

If you're looking for a doctor who isn't busy, Dr. Wong isn't the doctor for you. She shares her office with two other doctors and the office is always bustling with people. It can be a challenge getting an appointment but hasn't bothered me much. Dr. Wong is patient, kind, and always listens to what questions I may have. She delivered my son a few months ago, and she was amazing. Toward the end of pregnancy, you go in really often. Seeing her that much is easy because she makes you comfortable. When I was in labor, I took my time going to the hospital because I knew it would just be a waiting game there. In the evening, Dr. Wong called me to check on me and encouraged me to check into the hospital. When I was ready to deliver, she was there. I would definitely recommend her! read more

I was new to Hawaii and randomly chose Dr. Wong from a directory of Hmsa providers. I randomly picked her because she was a female with affiliations with Queens. I'm so glad I did. I appreciate the great bedside manner, knowledge she has, experience, empathy and kindness. She does go through appointments quickly once she walks into the exam room but I've never felt rushed. She addresses any issues and asks if there are any remaining concerns or questions before she concludes the visits. If you're the type that needs to talk long "story" with your gyno, you may be disappointed. Dr. Wong delivered my 1st baby in 2012, and my twins in 2017, both at Kapiolani hospital. I was surprised she visited me daily while I was recovering at the hospital and even came on a day off with her young child to check up on me. The office staff is a typical setup. Sometimes it does get backed up. The phones ring, people need tending to, patients have questions, other departments need addressing. And sometimes the ball gets dropped. I once got a call from the office saying I needed to get a prescription for something and they would send it to my pharmacy. 5 hours later, the pharmacy still doesn't have the prescription. I called the office and they said doctor hasn't signed the prescription yet. So I had to wait till the following day to pick up the needed medicine. It's annoying sometimes, but no one's perfect. read more

i was bummed when my long-time gyno retired from delivering babies, but when i asked for a referral based on my personality i was led to Dr. Wong. she was a perfect fit! Dr. Wong is calm, caring, professional and efficient (very important to me). her staff are also helpful and compassionate. leading up to my first delivery i felt prepared (as much as was possible) and in good hands. she was there when we needed her in the wee hours on a saturday morning and helped make birth pleasant (as much as was possible)! since then i've become a regular patient and would highly recommend her. read more

We were referred to Dr. Grace wong due to my wife not being able to speak English fluently and Dr. Wong speaks Cantonese. As a first time mom, Dr Wong is great to have as she was always knowledgable, friendly, patient and reassuring during my prenatal care. I was a worry wart during my pregnancy had a few false labor alarms at full term but she was always nice about it when answering my questions and concerns through the phone, sometimes even in the middle of the night. My birth experience at Queens couldn't have gone better as I knew I was in good hands with the whole staff. She visited to check up on my progress in between clinic hours and came on time to deliver my daughter (she rushed over because my daughter came out faster than expected). Her and her staff work very efficiently in the office. For most prenatal visits I was in and out of the office in 30-45 minutes. The rooms are well maintained. Not a fan of Dr. Wong. This was my second visit, figured I'd give her another shot. I felt like I was in a drive-thru doctors office. While the room is clean... There's no hook to hang your close on...really? I have to take my close off and am expected to but them in the only chair in the room. The trash cans don't have lids, great seeing the tools from other pap smears and tissues used to wipe who knows what. Isn't there some sort of sanitary no brainers? Then they sent me "downstairs" to the lab for a test and i had to ask for the floor and suite number. read more

Dr wong is truly amazing! I'm not going to lie, when I first met her I was a little hesitant bc she looks so young! You may feel like you're being rushed but you aren't. I think it's just the way she talks. She answers all my questions and concerns and never brushes anything off. She delivered both my babies in 2016 and 2017. And they are both so healthy! Both times they were past due but dr wong respected my wish for delivering naturally rather than c-section. She pushed for natural until she felt like it was dangerous for me or baby. I feel like if it were any other dr they would have done c-section just to get it over with since I was in labor for almost 2 days. During those 2 days, she stopped by many times and even called at crazy hours just to check on my status! I wonder how she even gets any sleep! Few months ago, I felt a lump. It was during the period of when I was nursing my baby. Anyone would have thought it was a clogged milk duct. She thought it may have been nothing too but pushed for a biopsy just incase. I really like Dr. Wong and I'm so glad she is my ob! My first baby is due in June. She always answers all my questions and makes me feel comfortable and tell me what to expect on the upcoming weeks. She is very pleasant and you can tell she loves what she does! I do have to get my blood work/ultrasounds elsewhere because they don't do them at the clinic, which I am fine with because I still am receiving excellent care. More money more problems. Being a doctor is about caring for your patient's best interest. I feel like I'm a dollar sign. I have been with this doctor for years. Like any business they become comfortable and then begin to forget what made them great. When patient's call regarding any medical concern you as the doctor should step up, hey that's what you all signed up for , am I right? Or was it the fat paycheck you wanted? Not the best OB in HI by far! Not a great MD and her office staff is very rude and acts like they are doing you a favor! I am very dissatisfied with Ashley one of her secretaries that is completely incompetent and disrespectful to Dr Wong's patients. I am curious to know if Dr Wong even knows the things that's Ashley is telling her patients. Would not recommend to anyone. Please look else where. read more

Dr. Wong is the best! I was referred to her by two of my friends who already go to her and one friend who is in training to be an OB. Dr. Wong is down to earth, easy to talk to, confident, takes the time to answer all of our questions, all while being calm and reassuring. I would not want to have anyone guiding me through this first time mom process or delivering my baby when the day comes (I'm currently 6.5 months)! I would recommend that all go to her to experience the best quality OB in HI. Please be aware that her staff isn't the greatest but really, I've noticed that this seems to be a common trend with a lot of doctors. Dr. Wong makes it all worth it! read more

Dr grace Wong is an angel, she is both caring and thorough. In February 2016 she delivered my 7lbs 4oz boy and though he was a stillborn Dr Wong made it her mission to be their for his birth. Her bed side manner is the great and I wouldn't trade her for any other physician. She's dedicated kind and has years of experience and a mother. I highly recommend her practice. Also Dr Wong makes it her mission to be at every delivery, she attends all her surgeries and vaginal deliveries herself. read more

I was a little scared when I met Dr. Wong because she looks so young, i didn't know if she had enough experience yet. I was pleasantly surprised. She is terrific. Easy to talk to and very informative. Also appreciate how she respects our schedule too. For a Dr. that actively delivers babies, i think she only cancelled my appointment once, which is pretty awesome. Her appointments are on time too. not too much time in the waiting room. why the 4 stars instead of 5? Her old receptionist(s) were friendly and easy to talk to. new ones, not so much. I just switched to Dr. Wong and so far I am pleased. She was very thorough in her work up. She gave me adequate time to ask any questions and was extremely personable. We reviewed when my last mammogram, and other routine testing had been done, but I could not recall the exact dates. The afternoon of the visit, I was called by the testing department. Dr. Wong's office had already checked when the tests were due and had called in orders for testing due later this year. I am a retired RN and have high standards for my physicians. read more

I signed up for yelp specifically to write this review. I've been a patient for a few years, trying to stick it out because of all the good things I heard about Doctor Wong but am very disappointed with the service. First of all the staff drops the ball a lot. Sometimes they are friendly, other times cold and very often incompetent. They have billed the wrong insurance. The receptionists has sent wrong prescriptions to the pharmacy. Which means I have to play phone tag with them to fix their mistakes, very frustrating since they are very hard to get a hold of. The staff also does not do follow-up calls to confirm appointments, even though the appointments were made months or a year in advance. Doctor is nice but always very busy and I always feel rushed at appointments even though I usually have to wait 30 minutes past my appointment time. To top it off, I got a bill dated for services done a year ago. I tried calling the billing department but no one ever picks up the phone. read more

THE WORST!!!! I called saying I was in pain and needed help and the receptionist said that she would tell dr. Wong and get back to me. After a full 5 hours I heard nothing back. So I call back and it was just, "sorry she hasn't gotten back to me yet", I remind her how I am in a lot of pain. So I called my PCP and she was amazing. I have been a patient of Dr. Grace Wong for about 10 years and referred many of my friends to her. When my medical insurance became medicare with a supplement from Humana, I was turned down for services in a very unprofessional and abrupt way. I had a scheduled appointment and was turned away because of my medical insurance. After several attempts to reach the doctor, she claimed she had too many other critical things to handle than to deal with my issue. She also said she was too busy to remove her name from the provider list on Humana to which I checked prior to selecting Humana as my supplemental insurance. Didn't expect such blatant and cold replies from a doctor I was trusting with my health for all these years. read more

I called to schedule an appointment, the receptionist picked up the phone and said just a moment and put me on hold for over 30 minutes then I got disconnected. I think she forgot all about my phone call. Finally made an appointment after several attempts in making the phone call. The receptonist made it so hard to make an appointment. The day of the office visit, I had to wait over 45 minutes in the exam room with my bottom and bra off for an annual exam. As I waited, the nurse came in to the room to get medical supplies and empty the rubbish can. I don't mind to wait as it is common to wait for doctor, but not in the exam room when I was instructed to take off my bottom and bra, waited over 45 minutes and what worst is nurse coming in and out of the room to get stuff. Where is patient privacy? Finally after Dr. Wong arrived, checked 5 minutes, and I am out of the room, didn't even have time to discuss my concern on trying to conceive. Was refered by a friend here since I do not want to be cared by Tripler anymore. I called and receptionist said I had to switch from tricare prime to tricare standard first I prefer to make appointment. Okay cool understandable so I did. She also informed me I needed medical records faxed over. Okay understandable to I call and told receptionist that I couldn't fax over because my medical records were too long and Tripler didn't allow it. So I would have to obtain a CD for my medical records. So I call back and told her that I switched my insurance. Then she tells me "we need your records first in order to make an appointment" like really? Wouldn't you think you book my appointment first and then bring in my medical records on my first appointment??? And from what I was reading from the reviews, staff do not get back to you. I asked her, "how long will it take for her to look at my records?" She said a couple of days! Like really? So I am looking elsewhere read more
