This review is long overdue, not really a review person but had to write this so others may benefit from this wonderful person. Dr. Kimberly Perkins was my wife's OBGYN and stood by us throughout our entire journey. She is a wonderful person--warm, compassionate, and incredibly reassuring--yet confidently assertive when it comes to providing the best care possible. On delivery day, she was with us for over 5-6 hours, guiding us through every push, every moment, and every emotion. That level of dedication is rare. She is truly an amazing human being and one of the best doctors you could ever hope to have by your side during such a magical and life-changing experience. We felt safe, supported, and genuinely cared for every step of the way. My bestie referred me to Dr. Perkins as I was looking for a new Obgyn. Although I love my old Obgyn, she moved to a new location that just didn't work for me. My husband and I have been trying to have another baby and Dr. Perkins helped us through a very difficult time while we went through a miscarriage. She's a truly wonderful person because of her level of empathy, professionalism and understanding. While we were going through all the testing to make sure my body had released all the excess tissue, Dr. Perkins helped to ensure that I didn't have to go to the hospital for a procedure during this time of COVID when the last thing you want is to have surgery. I'm so happy to have Dr. Perkins to take care of my body during this time and hope to have a baby this next year. Dr. Perkins office is located on the 4th floor of Queens POB II off of Lusitana Street. Depending on your appointment time, parking can be tricky because of the volume of vehicles in the parking structure. I like that you can park on the 4th floor and walk right to that floor from the parking stairwell. read more

I am a 5 time combat veteran, with multiple medical plan coverages (i.e. Tricare, VA, and others). My wife is a Long's employee, with HMSA. We were in need of a good doctor for her, after some despondent and ineffective care at Tripler (e.g. very poor continuity and planning during the Pandemic, attributed to Covid mitigation). My wife's best friend, who has Doctor Perkins, recommended her to us for OBGYN, and for fertility assistance purposes. In fact, the Doctor told her to have my wife (or me) call her after her friend inquired, if she was available to help my wife. After calling, clarifying the referral, and spending 20 minutes on the phone providing personal information to her assistant, I waited three business days (and a weekend) to find out that Dr. Perkins was NOT willing to accept us for a number of inane reasons. Firstly, she said that because her 'SECONDARY' insurance was tricare; it was her policy that it wasn't acceptable, since it didn't match HMSA, the primary. Secondly, the assistant said that she didn't think she could successfully help us, which was a conclusion derived from a 15-20 min discussion with the assistant, and no formal background statistics/records from neither me nor my wife. Based on past testing, I'm fairly sure that my wife and I do not need much help, just some continuity of care; so, this will almost certainly be their loss to not get easy credit for the assist. Finally, I am saddened to see that Doctors, such as specialists in our country, particularly here in densely populated Honolulu, have such discriminating criterion to help their respective patients, and apparently don't need the business. I am even more disappointed about the growing number of providers who do not accept insurances associated with our active duty, retired, or veterans. Dr. Perkins was the first OBGYN I went to as a young lady; and I have now been her patient for many years. I had heard stories about how it would all go, and I was nervous. She made all of that fear go away. I had a comfortable, easy experience with her, and I really like her as a person. She is friendly, knowledgeable, informative and professional, and she makes you feel very comfortable. She is always kind and caring. I have seen other doctors while living out of state, and boy was it different! It really made me appreciate Dr. Perkins that much more. If you are looking for a good Dr., look no further. Dr. Perkins is an excellent OBGYN! She is so friendly, and always makes the whole process much more comfortable. She always takes the time to ask if you have any questions, and then gives thorough answers. The office is run very efficiently, and appointments are almost always on time despite that she's so busy! I made an appointment with Dr. Perkins because I was experiencing some issues that I really wanted looked at. It took a long while to get in to see her (weeks) but I needed a new gynecologist and I just figured this is how it works in Honolulu. Once there, I waited about 45 minutes in the waiting room and another 45 minutes in the cold examination room with nothing but a thin wrapper to keep me warm before the doctor came in to see me. I am not exaggerating. I considered leaving several times during that wait, mostly because I was freezing, but she came in just in time. Her bedside manner is good. No complaints on that end. What was particularly bad about this doctor was her lack of follow up on important tests. In New York, doctor's offices call you with results whether good or bad. Here, I had a couple of tests that I was keen to know the results of and she never got back to me. Nearly a month later, I called the office to inquire about the results. After audibly confirming she was looking at my test results, the assistant told me I had to come in to talk to the doctor about them. Of course, this got me very worried and by then I was not keen on another visit to her office. I demanded to know the results over the phone and it turned out that I needed to go and get some more tests done. In addition, they lost my pap smear results (or it was never sent in, they don't know). And so they wanted me to come in again and take it over. Had all of this gone down and they had gotten in touch with me, I would have had a much fonder impression of the doctor and her office staff. I immediately made an appointment with a new gynecologist that had just gotten her license. Such is the nature of finding a new gynecologist in Honolulu. I truly disliked my experience with Dr. Perkins and her office staff. She never apologized. And while I do not absolutely love my new choice, they at least communicate with me about important issues regarding my health. It's easy to do and unacceptable that they failed in this so miserably. read more

Dr. Perkins is an awesome clinician. I was referred to her over 5 years ago since other OBGYNs were not taking any new patients and I have felt comfortable with Dr. Perkins ever since. She fully explains what procedures she will be performing and she make me feel very relaxed during procedures that are not the most relaxing. She mentioned that she was educated at UCSD and she trained at Stanford med, two very prestigious schools in the nation. She has awesome bedside manners and really gains a rapport with her patients. All I can Say is that she is AMAZING!! I just found out that my husband and I are having our first baby (complete surprise) and I already HATE going to get a Pap done cause it always makes me so nervous and tense. I am a BIG chicken. She was in and out in about 5 seconds and this was the EASIEST Pap I have EVER had. Dr. Perkins is the best! Love Dr. Perkins! I just went for my first annual exam with her and it went really well. The ONLY reason I'm giving 4 stars is for the office. It looks a little grungy when you walk in and as you walk through there are papers and files piled everywhere. It left me wondering if my chart was going to get lost in the shuffle. I'm sure it will be fine, though. Dr. Perkins was extremely thorough and knowledgeable. She really knows her stuff and explains it well. I've been going to Dr. Kimberly Perkins for many, many years. Recently I had some abdominal issues and my PCP suggested I see my gynecologist. Dr. Perkins spent an hour with me trying to help, asking questions, etc. She made some suggestions and actually called me a week later to see how I was doing. Today, over a month later, she called again, out of the blue, to ask me how I'm doing. I've NEVER had a doctor do that! I have such respect for her. She really cares about her patients. Dr. Perkins is a terrible doctor. I'm pregnant for the first time and caught a head cold. I've been sick for two weeks and was not getting better... Plus i wasn't taking any medicine because I know it's not good for the baby. I called her to tell her I was not getting better and if there was anything she could do. All she could tell me was "going to the ER is my recommendation and feel better." There was no followup phone calls to see how I was doing. I would not recommend this doctor! read more

I did not like this Dr at all. She did not take my privacy seriously, she was very poor on the follow-up and her receptionist was outright rude to me! After my exam, Dr Perkins took me into the lobby to discuss my exam in front of other patients and the nurses, which I found very embarrassing. read more
