The result of me transferring care to another physician was cancellation of all of my other appointments including my mid pregnancy ultrasound. At the time of me transferring care I didn't think this was a big deal because I have HMSA PPO. When I showed up to the Fetal Diagnostic Center today I was notified that my appointment was canceled by Annette in Dr. Chang's office. Annette made that effort to call and cancel my ultrasound but did not have the courtesy to contact me to let me know that they would do this. That horrible feeling of being helpless in this type of situation is heart wrenching and confusing as to how their office could be so spiteful just because of my transfer of care. I feel that if you are going out of your way to call other offices to inform them of my transfer of care why was it that I am not on that call list too? A decent person would at least contact the patient and let them know what you're doing. Not do everything behind their back. When I contacted Dr. Chang's office and asked why didn't you notify me? they had no care and compassion and said "because you transferred care. I am still waiting on a call back from Annette to explain why she did what she did just so that future patients don't have this problem.

Receptionist's and intake MA have always been nice and professional greeting me with a smile and always saying hello. They are working so hard always on the phone or scheduling an appt probably amongst other things like doing prior auths for failed insurance coverage etc etc. They always knows who i am when checking in, and while sometimes we do have to wait because Dr Tsai is delivering a baby or seeing a new mother for her morning check up i am totally fine waiting. Dr Tsai has been my OB for 6 of my births and there is no where else i would rather be. She is hard working, selfless, knowledgeable, knows how to make critical decisions in a high stress situation and always willing to stay and answer every question that i have. Working in the medical field myself we can be the worst type of patient (LOL) but i trust her as well as her office completely. Anytime i had a concern that seemed "out there" Dr Tsai always put my mind at ease. Her Nurse Practitioners are also EXCELLENT: Kathy, Erica and Wimonrat. They have each helped me at some point and i am even fine with just seeing them for my routine check ups because they are that amazing. If you want a doctor who is there to actually help people and do so with exceptional care and love, look no further than Dr Tsai and her team!

The nurse practitioner attempted to insert my IUD twice but was unsuccessful. What was most frustrating was the lack of clear communication about why the insertion was unsuccessful. Rather than explaining what may have made the insertion difficult, I was told that I had not taken the prescribed medication correctly, even though I had followed the instructions. She also commented that, in her career, I was the only one patient in the recent years she had been unable to insert an IUD for. That comment was extremely discouraging and immediately made me feel as though something was wrong with me. I understand that IUD insertions can sometimes be difficult or unsuccessful, and I would have been much more understanding if I had simply been given clear, respectful education about what happened and what my options were. Instead, the experience felt very invasive, uncomfortable, and emotionally discouraging. I scheduled a third appointment but ultimately canceled because I did not feel comfortable going through the process again. It was violating. I ended up finding another OBGYN instead. Overall, I was disappointed with the experience and especially with how the situation was communicated to me. This practice has lost my trust, and I most definitely would not trust them to deliver a child after this experience with a far less invasive procedure.

Dr. Seitz makes sure and goes over your forms, notes past surgeries and confirms your past and present medical status. That was followed by an internal exam. Then a plan for treatment, options available . I decided on the most conservative one first: a special pt for pelvic floor vs more meds, Botox or surgery. I was very happy to meet Dr. Seitz. Future visits can be TelMed but I told her I preferred in person which she said was fine.

TIP: If the mom is a civilian spouse of a military member, you could get out of "Crippler" by "downgrading" your Tri-Care status from Prime to Standard, then you could use a Dr. of your choice as long as s/he accepts Tri-care. The copays are insignificant. Our delivery at Kapiolani was normal 3-day stay, billed for $16.5K to mom & $3.5K to baby... and our total copay was $50. This is totally an upgrade! Also, Tri-Care will pay for a set of double electric breast pump & accessories; make sure your OB/GYN will write a prescription that will require/recommend those items by functionality & not by brand. P.S. I would add photos if Yelp allows nudity =P

I struggled losing the extra weight after delivery. He forgot to put me on iron pills - I was anemic - only after I mentioned that my friend told me every mother needs iron pills during pregnancy then he prescribed it. During delivery, there was a woman who went into the next room. We could hear her baby cry. I noticed he started to rush my child's birthing as if it was a challenge since the woman gave birth quicker than me.

His office in Mililani is super out of the way for me, but i will make the trek from town to mililani to see him because i trust and respect him so much. He really takes the extra time to explain and educate you on what he's doing, some background information and what to expect afterwards. I had seen him because he was the on call ob when i was pregnant. He called to speak to ask me and he personally called me to follow up and make sure i was okay. I'm not sure if you know how the straub system works, but for me, that was totally unheard of. The nurse would always be the one calling me. Plus, he called me at like 7 pm! He stays late just to call and check up on his patients. Like I said, AWESOME!!! Fast forward, he's now my doctor and he really surpasses all of my expectations. He is intelligent, thorough, very wise, not to mention funny and extremely caring. I would definitely recommend him to anyone and everyone..well, every lady part having anyone and everyone.

Luckily, I found Pali Women's Health which was thankfully on the west side of the island near home. Pali Women's Health shares the same parking lot as Kalapawai Cafe. If there is no parking, you can find street parking, Chuck E Cheeses, or across the street at the old K-Mart. It's a small facility, but I felt that it was great for what I was wanted. I called in after seeing their Yelp page and requested an appointment. Someone called me within 48 hours to schedule and because I was a new patient, they even mailed me my forms ahead of time so I can complete it before coming in. The woman on the phone was really helpful and she worked with my hectic work schedule. My appointment was with Physician's Assistant Alisha who was awesome! I felt comfortable talking with her about my health and felt that she gave me great information based on my family's history on preventative measures and doing a cancer screening. I felt comfortable talking to her and the exam flew by quickly. I'd definitely recommend!
