Luckily, I found Pali Women's Health which was thankfully on the west side of the island near home. Pali Women's Health shares the same parking lot as Kalapawai Cafe. If there is no parking, you can find street parking, Chuck E Cheeses, or across the street at the old K-Mart. It's a small facility, but I felt that it was great for what I was wanted. I called in after seeing their Yelp page and requested an appointment. Someone called me within 48 hours to schedule and because I was a new patient, they even mailed me my forms ahead of time so I can complete it before coming in. The woman on the phone was really helpful and she worked with my hectic work schedule. My appointment was with Physician's Assistant Alisha who was awesome! I felt comfortable talking with her about my health and felt that she gave me great information based on my family's history on preventative measures and doing a cancer screening. I felt comfortable talking to her and the exam flew by quickly. I'd definitely recommend!

Back when she was the only doctor, her now ex husband was the office manager. He was awful. His billing was always behind. I swear he billed me for my son's birth three years after he was born! Like what?! He was super rude too when I tried to question it. Anyway now that she has other locations and more staff, it's not as bad. The wait wasn't long the other day but I've waited over an hour for my appointment before. I always ask for first appointment or last appointment of the day. If you want a Saturday, you won't find anything unless you ask for something 13 months out. I haven't seen Dr. Tsai in over 3 years but her NPs are friendly and easy to talk to. Also she seems like she has new office people (even the almost rude nurse lady is not there and she was there for years) and staff. It still is weird putting booties on your shoes because they don't want you to trek in outside germs. It's also weird that she sells all kinds of weird beauty treatments. It almost feels like when you're at your lowest and being super pregnant, get this treatment to look beautiful again?! Not my thing but hey I guess if you're okay with that. I am lazy so I haven't switched and since she brought on her NPs, it's easier for me to find an appointment time. I do like Dr. Tsai but it's not necessary for me to see her (maybe because I'm not pregnant).

The nurse practitioner attempted to insert my IUD twice but was unsuccessful. What was most frustrating was the lack of clear communication about why the insertion was unsuccessful. Rather than explaining what may have made the insertion difficult, I was told that I had not taken the prescribed medication correctly, even though I had followed the instructions. She also commented that, in her career, I was the only one patient in the recent years she had been unable to insert an IUD for. That comment was extremely discouraging and immediately made me feel as though something was wrong with me. I understand that IUD insertions can sometimes be difficult or unsuccessful, and I would have been much more understanding if I had simply been given clear, respectful education about what happened and what my options were. Instead, the experience felt very invasive, uncomfortable, and emotionally discouraging. I scheduled a third appointment but ultimately canceled because I did not feel comfortable going through the process again. It was violating. I ended up finding another OBGYN instead. Overall, I was disappointed with the experience and especially with how the situation was communicated to me. This practice has lost my trust, and I most definitely would not trust them to deliver a child after this experience with a far less invasive procedure.

I love that she provided a stacked of documents that prepared me what to expect in different situations, pediatrician recommendation etc. I always went back to it whenever I wanted to know what the next step is or what should I do in certain situations. I was induced on my due day, and it really made me so much more confident when I saw Dr. Leung right before the induction, and she showed up as soon as I got into active labor which was in the middle of the night! I really wouldn't be able to deliver the baby so smoothly and has a healthy baby without her help. Dr. Beair also very kind to me during the couple weeks when Dr. Leung was out of office. All the staffs at the office are always so nice as well! Highly recommend Premier Women's Health!

Throughout my pregnancy, I also saw Dr. Beair when Dr. Leung was unavailable, and I always felt well cared for by the entire team. Dr. Leung was always reassuring whenever I had concerns and took the time to sit down with me and explain everything step by step. She never made me feel rushed and always made sure my questions were answered. I felt well taken care of throughout my pregnancy, labor & delivery, and postpartum period. I'm especially grateful to her for helping bring our healthy baby girl into this world after so much longing and anticipation. I also appreciated the excellent care I received during my C-section and recovery, my incision healed beautifully and looks great. I'll miss seeing Dr. Leung and the team so often. I'm very grateful for the care, support, and compassion I've received from everyone over the years. Since I've gotten transferred and in Dr. Ikehara's care it's been nothing but a smooth transition and thee best care I have ever received!! This is my third pregnancy and each pregnancy I've struggled with finding an OB that didn't treat me like an transaction or in & out patient. This is my first OBGYN that I'm truly happy with and even though this would be my last kid (my husband and I agrees, 3 is a lot) that he makes visits so easy going and the atmosphere is always happy it makes us want to have another one after this. Also, he doesn't make any visits or vaginal checks awkward. I've had female ob's and seen a few male ob's in the past but by far... Dr. Ikehara and his staff (Carleen) makes everything so comfortable and you can tell that they love what they do. Dr. answers all your questions throughly, gives you professional advice, and is clear with it all--like no run arounds just straightforward and I love that. The last thing I needed was to be worried about VBAC and everything feels so right, I am due any minute and I am so excited for my babies arrival. I also wanted to acknowledge his assistant Carleen, she is the sweetest person! I always look forward to my visits with her and Dr. Ikehara. This review is for Dr. Lauren Sword. My old OBGYN moved away and all the other providers in the…read moreoffice were booked solid so I decided to try Dr. Sword who had a wide open schedule. I went to see Dr. S for a routine Pap and OBGYN visit, which was quick and no frills. She was nice enough, did the exam and we were done and I was on my way. I paid my co-pay at the office which is their requirement. This is where things get fishy. My HMSA PPO co-pay is $12, they charged me over $22. Yes, there is tax etc. but it still didn't add up. Whatever I paid the co-pay. Background info: I see her mid January and my HMSA PPO insurance coverage is up the end of January. I called HMSA and made sure her visit is covered (it was they said) and the claim was submitted to HMSA. DONE, or so I thought. Fast forward to end of Feb, I get a bill from Dr. Sword for $586. I think WTF? Turns out she reversed my original office visit of 20 minutes to 30 minutes and submitted a new claim Feb 15th. I call HMSA to find out what's going on and since she cancelled my original claim outside of my insurance and resubmitted I now have to pay the full bill. I also called their billing department and talked to Nelvi Antonio, who would not listen and kept talking in circles. She admitted that my original claim with Dr. Sword did go through and when I asked her WHY 3+ weeks later they cancelled and resubmitted a new claim she wouldn't answer and kept talking down to me like I didn't know what I was talking about. Terrible service and rude. Nelvi claims that they mistakingly filled me as an existing patient (which I AM) but since it's been years since I came in they must file me as a new patient again. Sure, fine, but it took you 3+ weeks to figure that out? No answer to why you didn't do your job correctly in the first place? No accountability. Shame on you Nelvi for doing an awful job. Do it right from the beginning and learn some customer service. Can't even explain or have any accountability. Very upsetting that weeks after my visit Dr. Sword is now trying to get more money out of insurance. I think that's called FRAUD. Thank you Dr. Sword for messing up my insurance claims and now I'm stuck with a $586 bill that was originally covered via my old insurance. Beware of this office, they try to charge your insurance more and more to get more $$$$$ and then their billing department has no clue and tries to scape goat out of any responsibility. Dr. Sword please fire your billing company, they are doing you a disservice and chasing away clients. I will NOT be back to your office.

I called windward and let them know I was uninsured, to which they quoted me $300, and was able to schedule an appt for a little over a week later. I didn't read any reviews before making the appointment and when they mentioned I'd have a male doctor (they offered both male or female), I didn't have a problem with it. I've seen male obs in the past. My only issue ever was actually with a female doctor in California. I decided to read reviews about 30 mins before my appointment and definitely got worried based on the negative reviews for Dr. JP Clark. Trust, my blood pressure was high when they checked it. Dr. Clark was very personable. He made me feel comfortable. He did lightly touch my shoulder/knee but it was in a caring way, not sexual. He was very professional and honestly put me at ease with his demeanor. During the exam, the nurse was also in the room (I'm assuming this is a precaution based on reviews), but I would've felt comfortable whether she was there or not. I am all for supporting women and their feeling uneasy around men, but based on my experience with Dr. Clark, I have nothing but positive things to say. He took his time, addressed all my concerns and questions and came off as caring vs creepy. Hope that helps! They also only charged me the $300 I was quoted, which was amazing!
