Dr. Tracie Hata is awesome! :) When my previous provider retired, I couldn't decide on a new doctor and pushed off looking for one until a health condition forced me to find out quickly. Calling Straub's appointment line I was informed of my options. I decided on Dr. Hata as she was the closest to my home. My initial appointment to "establish care" was set for 8:00am- a bit early for me but oh well. I had trouble finding the doctor office/Straub Family Health Clinic. For those of you who get lost, it's right next door to Diagnostic Labs in Kapolei which is in the same complex as Fun Factory. The clinic seemed clean and the receptionist, Chris, seemed to know everyone by name and was fairly quick at processing patients. Dr. Tracie Hata came in soon after and made me feel at ease. She doesn't seem to be too pushy and has a way of explaining what you may need to work on in a way that doesn't feel offensive. She has a great sense of humor, but is also very knowledgable and doesn't mind explaining the complicated terms she may use. She even made jokes about her own health. I was a bit worried as I really liked my previous physician, but it was great because Dr. Hata said she knew of my physician because her own mother saw her as well. She explained the office hours (although I failed to write them down and didn't see a card that I could take with the hours). She doesn't seem to be too pushy and has a way of explaining what you may need to work on in a way that doesn't feel offensive. She even made jokes about her own health. I thought I was only going in for a quick establishing of care, but was able to get my TB shot as well as a Tetanus shot as well. Dr. Hata also recommended I get my cholestrol checked to be able to get a better picture of my health. She is very thorough and very personable. I am glad I found Dr. Hata. Just a note, she is the only "Straub" physician at the clinic, although the other two physicians are "Straub affliated" so once you are a patient of Dr. Hata, you can see the other two if she isn't in. I believe Dr. Hata mentioned one of the physician also provides afterhours care. read more

Dr. Hata has been my primary care provider for the past 4 or 5 years. Admirable in the field of her expertise as well as a friendly face that treats her pts as such. She has helped me find outside sources for other ailments (my back) that required more attention. In addition to Dr. Hata, her friendly staff always seem to enjoy being at work, whether im there in person or on the phone with them. This combination creates for a great environment. This is only my second time seeing Dr. Hata and I think she's great! Called in to schedule an appointment thinking it would be for some time later this week or next week, but she had an opening to see me right away. Parking was easy to find and the Diagnostic Lab is right next door if you need some lab work done. It's so often that one can leave a doctors office and feel that their concerns fell on deaf ears but with Dr. Hata that is not the case. I always feel not only heard but understood when seeing her. I will never ever go back. I went in crying because I was in so much pain and I had lost 9 lbs because I couldn't eat. Dr. Hata proceeded to tell me how healthy I was and that my body would take care of itself. Crying I asked why she wouldn't give me medicine and she said because everyone just gives out medicine and that's why it takes 7 different medications to cure one thing. So i go to urgent care and they diagnosed me with strep throat. I called to tell her and she said I was not showing any signs of strep. This is not the first time, but this is the last. You went to school to help people not to laugh and tell them they will get over it. I will never return. read more

Dr. Hata is good, but staff is horrible! Called 7:30am, no answer, so left a message wanting to make an appt that day because I was really sick. Called twice throughout the day, no answer. Get a call back at 4:30pm, at the end of the day, 9 HOURS LATER! That is unacceptable! Was upset they called so late, didn't answer my phone. Staff should return calls in a timely manner. Kris is pleasant, but there was another younger girl, that is sassy...hope she is no longer there. But probably not returning as a patient since they don't answer their phones or return calls in a timely manner. read more

I haven't been with Dr. Hata for long but the few visits I've had with her I already know that she's incredible. She makes me feel comfortable and explains things really well. Love this doctor. Since I began coming here never had a problem. Every time I needed to make an apt on a certain day it was available. Also I found out that you can book your appts online through website myhealthadvantage.com (once you set it up of coarse) (It's convenient all your records at your finger tips) . The receptionist are always helpful and greet you to check in. My favorite concept is that I'm able to communicate with my doctor through email if I have a concerns. I know there is 2 other doctors there but don't remember their names. There is plenty of parking and they are located right next door to diagnostic labs (which is a plus in case they send you to do blood work) Dr.Hata is awesome. She makes me feel so comfortable and always shares some laughs even when I'm feeling sick ;) I've official found my PCP glad to have found her and feel at ease she is only down the road from me. P.S. Not sure the insurance they take but i know they take UHA (since that's what I have) read more

Just needed to make a comment in response to the customer below who had a bad experience with the way United Health Care does enrollment. I don't think doctors actually charge insurers unless services are rendered to patients. I really believe this is a disconnect between the way United Health Care may have handled your enrollment and their method of verifying with the doctor before making a commitment on their behalf. Also, Dr. Hata's staff is VERY professional and I've never felt like I've been mistreated, especially when I was a new patient. Fortunately, she was accepting new patients when my wife and I were looking for a more reliable practitioner. If you need a good doctor, I'd recommend you try again to see when Dr. Hata is taking new patients because she is well worth the wait. I went years under other doctors who I felt didn't really connect with my wife and I. It's too bad we will need to find a new doctor soon, since we are relocating. It's going to be tough to find a replacement doctor who genuinely cares as much as Dr. Hata. Highly recommended read more

Dr. Hata is great! :) She's very patient and unlike my other doctors, always remembers my medical history whenever I come in. She's warm and knowledgeable and has a great team of specialists to refer to. I especially like that when I have a medical concern I can email her and she always responds in good time. I've had a lot of medical concerns lately and she's the one doctor whose not given up on me. That makes a big difference and helps me to keep going! Her office is also always willing to squeeze you in if you have an emergency. They're very polite too. I've been meaning to write this review for a while, just never had the time. I saw Dr. Hata for approximately 3 years complaining of Irritable Bowel Symptoms. She sent me for various lab panels that my current doctor told me wouldn't even point to digestive issues. Needless to say she was never able to resolve any of my painful gastrointestinal issues. I started realizing she never diagnosed anything acted more like a traffic cop, just pointing me to another doctor to go to. The specialists she sent me to were awful, Dr. Small, a horrible gastroenterologist, performed 3 procedures on me and never even followed up with results. I kept getting sicker and sicker. I got so frustrated I made a scene in her office, and was fired by her AND Straub. I had already contacted a new doctor, Dr. Graeme Reed, and within 1 week Dr. Reed sent me to get panel blood work for food allergies and the data came back that I was allergic to wheat (gluten), potatoes, peanuts, hazelnuts, and many other foods. Once this was discovered, I felt 100 times better! How inept, incompetent can a doctor be? At one point in time she actually blamed my IBS on my POSTURE, my DISPOSITION, my lack of POSTIVITY! DO NOT choose this doctor. Enrolled in United Health Care in Nov 2016. While searching for a PCP, saw that Hata was listed as accepting new patients. Called UHC membership svc to assign as my pcp. Got my ID card w/Hata listed as my pcp. Called Dr's ofc today for the first time and was told that Hata is not accepting any new patients, even though she was assigned to me in Nov. and that she is NOT my doctor! WTH!!?? What kind of practice is this? Over enroll to get funded from the health plan? But when time to see the doctor, told because you didn't see her when you first enrolled, too bad you're shit out of luck. Please explain to me HOW and WHY when you are assigned a PCP, and that doctor is listed on your ID card, it doesn't mean a goddamn thing. read more
