Stopped in to grab coffees before getting on the ferry to Madeline on a Saturday morning. It was fairly busy but the line moved quick. We all ordered lattes with the various house made syrups (vanilla bean, caramel, maple) and we all collectively were like wow is this the best latte you've ever had?? We loved it so much we all went back later and bought beans. The decor inside is bright and vibrant with plants and ample seating. They have a variety of pastries that all looked delicious as well - I want to go back and try them all especially the peach scone! read more

Wonderstate Coffee is the only coffee shop in Bayfield. I stopped here a couple times while on winter vacation. The shop was chic with detailed white ceilings, wooden accents, beautiful pants, and festive decor. There was plenty of indoor seating and even a sofa area with a small selection of books. The staff were friendly. I ordered a mocha and a cinnamon streusel coffee cake. I was disappointed that my cake wasn't warmed at all but I got my order within 3 minutes of ordering. The quality of the beans is clearly there, and the drinks are thoughtfully prepared. That said, it didn't quite live up to the hype for me. Overall, it's a decent coffee shop, just not a place I'd go out of my way for. If you're in town, Wonderstate Coffee is worth trying. read more

Cute coffee shop with delicious drinks and free and strong WiFi in Bayfield WI. Only a couple blocks from the marina, it was a nice place to relax while we waited for our tour of the Apostle Islands. Service was excellent - friendly and efficient. I asked for a lid for my iced espresso drink to take it to go, and they even offered to add more ice since it was so hot outside. read more

Right before taking Apostle island ferry, I went in for a coffee. This place seems to be super popular. And there was almost one person making tea/coffee. I ordered a pandan rose latte and waited for 30 minutes, and still didn't get it. Finally I abandoned latte and ran to catch the ferry. I ordered a Wiishkobi bakwezhican muffin. Muffin was really good. I guess latte would have been good as well. read more

This was my first time at a Wonderstate cafe after having their beans at home, & I loved it. The cafe itself is super cute, with a coastal vibe & lots of natural light. There are big, happy plants everywhere, which made it cozy. I had the best iced oat milk vanilla latte of my life, like it sounds silly but it was SO GOOD. I thought they'd mixed up my oat milk for regular milk, because it was so creamy & delicious. I also tried a savory scone (bomb, so crispy & chewy), & some of my husband's cardamom cookie (think the best molasses cookie you've ever had, but it's cardamom). The baristas seemed chill but not overly warm; I respect it honestly, but it was a bit frustrating when my friend had a credit card issue & they weren't the most helpful. After reading some of the rave reviews, we stopped here while staying in the area. It was also the only nearby coffee shop open in October. It's a cute, casual place that includes seating indoor and outdoor. My sister ordered a dirty chai which cost her about $8.50. It tasted watered down--like the chai was the traditionally brewed in water then mixed it with espresso which had a faint flavor. Would not recommend unless you're into watered down drinks. I had the salted caramel latte. The espresso was smooth but VERY mild to the point that I questioned if there was espresso in it. If you're into bold coffee flavors, this place probably isn't for you. If you like more timid espresso drinks, check it out. read more

We were recently visiting Bayfield and had to stop by Wonderstate because of how much we love the coffee in Madison. Unfortunately they were all out of the drip coffee when we arrived, so we ordered Americanos instead. Normally we like their drip coffee over the espresso drinks, but these were done well. Additionally, we ordered the bagel sandwich, which has egg, caramelized onion, cheddar, and herbed aioli and the soup of the day which was sweet potato curry. You can choose between a plain or everything bagel and can also add bacon on the sandwich. I did mine on a plain bagel and it was very tasty. The components balanced well and I'm always a fan of caramelized onions on a bagel. I wish they would bring this sandwich to the Madison cafe. It was especially good dipped in the sweet potato curry or with the addition of the truffle hot sauce that they had sitting out. The sweet potato curry was quite thick in a good way with a good flavor. Staff was very friendly and we're happy that we stopped. It looked like the place is pretty popular as it was pretty full when we arrived, but that could also be partially because its one of the few places open on a Monday for lunch. We will definitely come back if we're in the area again. read more

Probably one of my most favorite coffee shops EVER! Faves on the menu include: maple latte with oat milk, honey bee latte with oat milk, savory cheese and chive scone, raspberry scone, and blueberry fields smoothie. Honestly everything is good here - both the baristas and bakers know what they are doing and the staff is always really friendly. Bonus is that you can see the lake from the seating area! They also sell really cute mugs, prints and other goodies as well as their beans. Grab your coffee and breakfast goodie from Wonderstate and head down to the waters edge to have the most perfect morning ever on the shores of Lake Superior. read more

Super coffee, some pastries and other assorted merch and grocery items. I order coffee by subscription from this company, so the coffee is very good! The cutest lil coffee shop that was surprisingly large once you got inside! The menu was easy to read and they were also willing to make something not exactly how it would normally be for my picky coffee moment. The bathrooms were clean, service fast, and baristas friendly. My coffee drinks was an iced cold fusion (not too much ice!), it was sweet and smooth and really one of the most perfect cold brews ever! 10/10 for me! read more

This coffee is legit! The syrups are all homemade with the usuals and a few new ones, like maple latte, which was delicious if you are looking for a recommendation. Delicious coffee. Service is a bit gruff - I guess they deal with tourists a ton so maybe that's annoying. Had the same person check me out each day and she did NOT want to be friends. The kitchen is SLOW. Was told a peanut butter and jelly bagel would be 20 minutes. But the most important thing, the coffee, is very good. The store features both lots of indoor and some outdoor (bench) seating as well as many baked goods to supplement your morning drink. Not only was my latte a wonderful flavor filled treat, my friend swore her oat milk latte was to die for! Even in COVID you can enjoy the quaint aesthetic of the shop, with beautiful art and local treats also available. The staff are extra nice and always wearing a mask. The coffee was excellent! We had vanilla lattes, which were smooth and not bitter like others we had tried in the area. We also had sandwiches from the cold case. They were tasty and made with bread that held up rather than getting too soft in a cooler. We plan on getting coffee before we leave tomorrow. read more

Drinks are really good and made well, but the staff messes up orders and charges you for larger sizes than you're getting. When I approached one of the baristas and said that she charged me for a large when I got a medium, she just said "Oh... sorry about that" and didn't do anything. We also asked for oat milk instead of whole milk, and they charged $0.75 extra, but didn't mention that it costs extra when we ordered. Also we had bought a reusable mug, which is also advertised to get a discount on future drinks/refills. The staff doesn't know that it's a thing, so we also didn't get the discount when we came back and asked to fill the mug we bought. It's not advertised, or mentioned anywhere, but a Small is 8oz, Medium is 12oz and Large is 16oz. This isn't the industry standard, so it was disappointing to find out the hard way. Again, the drinks and scones that we got were really good, but it needs to be managed a but better and they need to be more transparent with their pricing. read more
