Onion rings
Annaliese F.

The onion rings with bistro sauce were practically perfect. The fish sandwich got a 10/10 from my boyfriend which is saying something because he is not one to give out compliments lightly. The pizza sauce, toppings, and crust were very good; however, I wasn't a fan of the cheese they use. It is very gooey/wet with barely any texture. The ambience is warm and comforting with nice town views. The service was quick, friendly, and attentive. Would recommend to visit if you're in Bayfield!

Perfect!! Manypenny Bistro popped up so many times when searching for the best breakfast in Bayfield. My husband said it's not a legit breakfast spot if country fried steak wasn't on the menu. Since Manypenny Bistro had this on the menu, we stopped in on our commute home to Minnesota. We both enjoyed ourselves. Things we loved: seat yourself, friendly and engaging staff, large dog friendly patio, crispy hash browns, homemade raspberry jam, cranberry toast, large portions, cabin style lodging, robust menu, hot coffee and clean atmosphere. My husband (of course) had the country fried steak while I had an omelette with breakfast potatoes. We both had coffee and great conversation. Highly recommend!! Cozy environment.

I took out break fast from here. Crab benny and seafood omelette were my items. Both were excellent. Seafood omelette had a lot of fresh seafood stuffed. I wanted to try the whitefish liver from here. But that was available only in the evening. May be I should try it the next time I am here.

White Fish taco's were amazing. The pickled onions on top were

Great service, very polite servers. Place was fairly busy but we got our meals quicker than anticipated. Food was great with a very relaxing atmosphere.

Nice breakfast location. We stopped by on our way out of town. The service was great and the food very good. We enjoyed the raspberry fritter French toast and the smoked lake trout eggs Benedict. Definitely a place to go for breakfast or lunch.

What a find! I asked a local for a good pizza joint recommendation on my first night in town, and this was very quickly her first answer. I came with my dog and she assured me they had a dog friendly window. We arrived, and they have a full covered porch entrance next to the main entrance where you can enter with your dogs. Inside the porch there's a window where you can order food, beer, etc. The porch is lovely with plenty of tables and a counter across one of the walls of the porch. This would be a great dog option for a rainy day given the coverage on the porch. I ordered a pizza to bring back to my room and had a beer while we waited. My pup was given a whipped cream pup cup (of which he made a total mess but loved every moment of it) and service was super friendly and easy. I ordered the giant 20" pizza so that I'd have something to tide me over during my week stay in the event I didn't feel like going out or cooking anything. It was delicious. I ordered a pepperoni with extra sauce. I'm a believer that the sauce makes the pizza, and their dose of extra sauce was just the perfect amount. And it was a mighty fine tasting sauce at that. It was the perfect start to a relaxing vacation. I even went back on my last night for a small pizza (I love pizza). Had an old fashioned while I waited. I thought it was super strange that it tasted like cinnamon, but the Internet says sometimes that's a thing? If I'd known, I would have declined the cinnamon but oh well. Highly recommend checking them out, especially if you have man's best friend with you.

Quaint bistro away from the main drag. Three distinct eating areas, a varied menu (with daily specials), friendly staff, and decent prices. Highly recommend.

The Bennys were awesome, as well as their Raspberry Fritter French Toast! Loved the housemade raspberry jam to go with the French toast! Welcoming vibe in the indoor as well as the patio area.

Our go to restaurant when we're at the cabin in Bayfield. We love the pizza. The largest one is huge, lasts for days. Meat lovers is my favorite, but the Mediterranean also rocks. Went for breakfast today, affordable food. The servers are friendly, definitely has a midwestern diner vibe. Love the 70's music playing this morning.

Celebrating my 30th birthday and my server was super nice on a busy Saturday morning! The iced latte and Bloody Mary was great! They brought out a free piece of cake for my birthday! I wish I could finish it but I was so hungover and couldn't eat. My friends said their eggs + fish cake Benedict was very good.

Foods are excellent We had 5 course tasting menu that way we can taste most of the foods. Fortunately This is a very fine dining with moderate portion not giant. The highlights are definitely: Caesar salad - made old fashioned way you can taste the anchovy Mushroom soup - almost like French onion soup but mushroom and without overwhelming cheese on top. It's so nice and light. Perfect start to a meal seafood ravioli served with salmon - ravioli is definitely the star . The salmon is just some back up dancer. That Ravioli is magic. Umami bomb definitely taste the ocean (in a good way) and the butter and all the good things in life. For desert - the berry cobbler is special of the day and it is just phenomenal. All great texture are there. Chewy crust. Explosive berry flavors à la mode. After dinner. You can hang out at the porch there's swing. Nice chairs overlook the lake. Next time we should probl stay here

Very tasty with some crunchiness and not too sweet or bland - just perfect. The filling of rhubarb with raspberries was a perfect match very tasty while not too sweet. Last but not least, the pie was supper fresh still hot from the oven and you see the crew working on the next batch of pies. Too bad I'm only passing through town.

Please allow me to present a contrasting opinion…read more To be clear, I love pie. I'm a pie over cake kinda guy. In part, my love for pie has to do with pie crust. And I do realize that reasonable people can disagree on pie crust styles. In fact, my wife and I are two such people. I adore an all butter crust. I love the flavor of butter and how those milk solids get all toasty up there in with the flour to delivery amazing caramelization, crunchy edges, and a crisp bottom. The missus prefers a more tender crust, and that is what Gourmet Garage delivers. So she was happy, but I was left wanting. I also happen to have a super sensitive palate to the off flavors that can emerge from something spending a bit too long in the freezer. My wife, not so much. So she didn't notice those flavors in the crust that further diminished my joy in the pie. L'sigh. We got the pie hot out of the oven. Patiently waited for it to cool down enough so that it wouldn't melt the plastic fork provided by the bakery. The off flavors were there for me at the start, and they persisted as the pie continued to cool down. While we saw the bakery used frozen fruit, as one must to make some off season fruit pies, the freezer flavor was most present for me in the crust. That was the biggest let down of all. After a while I just couldn't bring myself to eat any more. The caramel pecan roll was better. No off flavors. But on that I would have liked to see the roll itself be more tender. Perhaps when fruit season is in full swing and GG is hopping, the crusts are fresher and the pies are better. Regrettably this was not my experience in mid June. Disappointment with the food aside, service was lovely. While the pies weren't quite out of the oven when we arrived first thing in the morning, I deeply appreciated being advised how many minutes out the pies were from being done, and the bravery of taking a blazing hot pie and putting it in an open box so we could have one for the road.
