There are limited options on island for dining but we were happy to have found this spot to grab some lunch during our brief visit to the island. I was hopeful that they had something more than just burgers and pizza and was glad when I found a chicken caesar on their menu. The chicken caesar had a plentiful amount of chicken and the greens were super fresh and crisp. It's an order at the counter and then go grab your order when ready sort of situation. They have an indoor dining area as well as some lovely tables outside. Once you've enjoyed your lunch, they also have ice cream. When we went back to order some ice cream the line was pretty long. Not to worry, though, they get you through quickly! Get to it!

This is a sweet spot to sit outside on the rooftop terrace, people watching and generally taking a break from walking around the island.. The highlight of my experience however, was a sumptuous, thin-crust and perfectly made gluten-free pizza, which I so hard to find. To make matters better, their chicken tenders are also gluten-free and absolutely delicious Definitely a pleasant surprise

Staff were super friendly and the rooftop patio was great! Pizza and caesar salad were both good. No frills kinda place and a great stop for us!

This is a cute place to stop on the islands for a traditional burger joint. My kids ate chicken tenders, and hamburgers. My husband had a burger and I had a veggie burger. Everything was good, not great, but expected from a order at the counter burger joint. Service was nice and friendly. We even stopped back later in the day for ice cream and a fruit cup. They were nice and let us fill our refillable water bottles. All of the employees wore masks and tried to be as safe as possible. No complaints except, when my daughter ordered a smoothie... it was only filled 3/4 of the way and there was a bubble lid which would make one think it should've /could've been filled beyond the rim of the cup. And the smoothie is more like an icee not sure there's any fruit in there. ...But when we returned for ice cream, the scoops were large and the ice cream tasty.

This hit the spot after a long day riding bikes around Madeline Island! We had pizza, BLT, and the garden salad. We were all satisfied with our food. The deck had a lot of tables that weren't bussed. Luckily there were only 3 of us so we moved the old dishes to the empty spot at the table. They also serve icecream but the line was long so we didn't get a chance to grab some as we needed to get back to our ferry! This hit

Grandpa Tony's is a bright and cheery spot serving pizza, sandwiches, wraps and ice cream. Order and pay at the counter, grab a drink then head upstairs to the great patio overlooking the lake. They have a bunch of tables with big red umbrellas. You will get an oversized playing card for your "number" and they will bring the food up and yell out "queen of hearts!" (Soooo tempted to yell back "go fish!). When we were there for lunch, service was a tad leisurely but that was ok since it was such a beautiful day in the sun. Our group of 4 tried the BBQ chicken pizza, chicken Cesar wrap and a cheese, sausage green pepper pizza. Food was just ok -pizza was pretty average-but hey, there aren't too many options on the island so it might still be one of your best options, especially if you've got kids.

The BBQ Chicken Pizza was the best I have had! The sauce mixed with corn and onions on top was an excellent combination. Cheesy Garlic Breadsticks we're just average but still good. Pretty homey atmosphere with a great view next to the lake! Staff was very nice!

I'd really like to rate this place 3.5 stars. There are not a lot of options in La Point, and this seemed like the best of them tbh. It's counter service, but they bring your food to your table. The menu isn't large, but my husband and I both liked the BLTs we ordered. My parents ate breakfast here too, and my mom was impressed with her breakfast sandwich. My dad had one of the burgers which was almost $15, but mom said it was very large. I was most impressed with the array of ice cream options; I chose Pirates Booty and Caramel Collision. I think I preferred the latter. Maybe go here just for the ice cream if you need to!

Ice cream was half melted and very small portions for the price. Servers were good but need more cashiers.

I BELIEVE it was Cedar Crest ice cream… not sure about the corn syrup though!

Each time I repeated the date and time and was toldit would not be a problem to get 9 pizza's to me by 7 pm on Friday, June 9 for our 35-40 guests. 7 pm rolls around and no pizza's, so I called the business and the cooks, "Um, we have those for tomorrow night". Try and find a place to feed 35-40 people in Bayfield on a Friday night in June (the wait at 7p was 90 minutes)? I ended up having to order 4 pizza's for the guests from Sgt. Pepperoni's (20 of the guest went up to the grocery store and bought coldcuts for at their rentals) to get them fed as we continued to decorate. How embarressing as the parents of the groom. On the bright side, I appreciated the apology of the person who answered the phone when I called and the speediness at which they made the 4 pizza's we ended up REORDERING FOR THE CORRECT NIGHT. The delivery person was very kind and of course we tipped him as we we were not going to punish people that had nothing to do with the ordering fiasco. And the pizza was good. The cherry on the top is I waited to write this review to see if anyone would follow up with me from the restaurant and so far there has been nothing. We were even charged full price for the late pizza's we had to reorder. So inconclusion, good pizza and nice staff but double check your date if ordering for a group. Maybe 4 times is the charm as I talked with the owner on 3 different occassions about my order.

Duck liver, goose liver, calves liver, cod liver, monkfish liver, sign me up. But somehow whitefish livers have evaded me. These were delicious! I also had what might have been the most midwestern meal ever. Cheese curds with ranch dressing, a plate of whitefish livers, and a sweet brandy old fashioned to wash it all down. On the specialty drinks menu I couldn't resist the Berens Brandy Old Fashioned. I mean, I have been a fan of Charlie Berens for a few years but I didn't realize he had his own brandy for the definitive cocktail of Wisconsin. It was delicious, but it also turned out to be $12. For my second round I just got a regular brandy old fashioned which was also quite good, but weighed in at five bucks. Let the buyer beware. Which is ultimately why Pier Plaza fell short of the fifth star. The prices feel a bit high for what it is. Granted, it's right by the water, in a remote part of the state, and thrives on tourists. And that's fine. I have no regrets and would absolutely recommend folks who might be passing through to stop in for a very Wisconsin meal. Portions are large, so plan accordingly.

It's a long and convoluted story, but I was with my minor child who was on the verge of a panic attack and needed to sit down somewhere, we were caught in a thunderstorm, and it felt like everything in town was closed. Probably because it was. Bayfield isn't exactly a late night town... nor does Uber or Lyft function out this way, despite the respective apps claiming otherwise. Morty's was close by. It was open. And I remembered that in Wisconsin not only can minor's sit at the bar, if they are with their legal parent they can even have a drink. Man, Wisconsin is the best! But the kid just wanted a soda, and I could have used a drink. So an old fashioned for me and a Coke for the kid. I shared our story with the bartender, and she offered some sage guidance. In a few minutes my wife arrived with the car to bring us back to our cabin. But let's hear it for the good old fashioned bar that provides both literal and figurative shelter from the storm.
