My entire life, I've been a large proponent of small menus. All my experience going to restaurants has told me that if people are making too many things, they aren't going to be making them that well. So I'm as baffled as you are that Wonder is making this all work. They have Chinese, Thai, Mexican, Greek, barbecue, salads, cheesesteaks, pizza, fried chicken, and more, all under the same umbrella. And for the most part? It's good. Weirdly enough, the chicken fingers and fries type dishes are just fine in my experience, but they are executing legitimately difficult dishes, in some cases better than some restaurants that specialize. The Cheesesteak from Fred's Meat + Bread is actually one of the best in the area. The brisket from Tejas Barbecue was tender, with a smoke ring. I'm not sure where it's getting smoked, but it's tasty and the trio of sauces are good...could use some extra pickles, but brisket is HARD, and they are doing it right. We've also enjoyed pad thai, lo mein, salads, ribs, salmon, meatballs, and more. The beauty of this concept is that when all four people in my family want to eat different things, we can order veggie lo mein, chicken fingers, a cheesesteak, and souvlaki...all from the same place. Limesalt in Bay Ridge, is located at 7501 5th Ave, offers customizable Mexican-inspired dishes like bowls, burritos, tacos, and quesadillas, along with sides like queso and chips. When I ordered delivery it was delivered in a Wonder bag and I wondered.. how good could the Mexican food be as part of a food hall? Wonder no more.. it was quite delicious. I was in the mood for a burrito with all the fixins and I was able to build my own: black beans, rice, sour cream, corn salsa, pickled red onions, shredded cheese and chicken. I also was in the mood for nachos but just chips and guacamole on the menu and queso!! I ordered both small sides.. The delivery came on time and packaged with care, utensils and napkins included. The burrito was huge.. I ate half and saved the other half for another day. It was fresh and delicious. The chips were also fresh and that side of queso and guacamole were scrumptious. I also cheated with their delicious Hungry Gnome Chocolate Chip Cookie:semi sweet chocolate and sea salt. It lasted me four days.. well I made it last four days! Tried this place out because it was close to the hotel I was staying at. I got a burrito from Limesalt and it was quite possibly the worst burrito I've ever had. It was put together so poorly that it fell apart after 3 bites. The tortilla was soggy and had no caramelization on the outside. I'm pretty sure they literally microwaved it. I ordered a pad thai from the restaurant Sripapai, which is an award winning renowned restaurant. My understanding is that Wonder has the ingredients for each restaurant and puts it together when it's ordered and then delivers it. It was the worst pad Thai I ever had. I ate a quarter of it threw the rest out. It was so disappointing. I was craving a pad Thai so badly. There were no no bean sprouts in the dish, and the taste was awful. I promise you I'm not a picky, eater or some gourmand who demands a 5 star experience for a take out order for lunch. But this was too much. I then Re ordered the quesadilla because they gave it to me on the house and it came i ate most of it and then noticed it was beef. I never knew that a concept like this exist in NYC, I came across it by accident and was curious to see how it works. The guy who works was able to explain to me the idea of it. I went with Fred's meat & bread and honestly I wasnt disappointed, it was pretty big and filling with a good portion of fries. I will put it in A tier list of burgers. This is a review of Wing Trip from Wonder Really disappointed in this food that is supposed to be from top chefs. These were the worst wings I have had in a long time. Checked into our hotel and wanted to find a place for dinner but didn't know what we wanted to eat. Wonder was across the street and our hotel bartender recommended it so we checked it out. Amazing selection of foods from different restaurants to choose from!!! Since I had never been to a "food hall" quite like this, I asked the counter worker for help in ordering (technically challenged label accepted!). She was patient and friendly and made the process so smooth. As for the food itself, my wife ordered chicken tenders which were huge and ssooooo tasty! I had some Chinese food which was also delicious! Great concept, reasonably priced. The hardest thing was deciding what to order because of the different food choices offered. Highly recommend trying this place for yourself. Conceptually, it's the bomb! Our food was fresh, cooked just right, tasty and the wait time was reasonable. Give them a try! I order from Wonder once a week. The food is consistent, delivered always warm and usually generous portion sizes. My favorite thing is you can order from a bunch of restaurants at in one order.
