The food was great! I got the single combo cheeseburger and everything was so tasty. The milkshake was good as well. The service was great and everyone was super nice.

If you're in the mood for a really good greasy smash burger, this is the place! It's a little hard to find but definitely worth it. The burger itself was not dried out and was super tasty. The curly fries were seasoned really well and nice and crispy. We will definitely be back.

A fantastic smash burger spot across the water on Portland's east side. The inside is a cozy diner-style space that's clean and comfortable, and the staff were incredibly friendly. We came with a group of 10, and the service was impressively fast, they even had a table reserved for us. The food was on another level. I had the Crab Rangoon Burger (their burger of the month), and it was incredible with the perfect balance of savory beef and rich crab. The curly fries were perfectly crispy, and the ranch was a solid 10/10.

I saw this place on insta so took a solo lunch date, ordered the single smash, cheese curds, curly fries, and olive oil & sea salt malt. The gal working the front taking my order really lacked personality, and the place was very potent with oil smell, like you're going to smell like it when you leave. 3 tables in the back to sit at or chairs lined up next to eachother for a "bar" like seating which is great for solo and with one other person. Otherwise, food came out fast and steaming hot! The burger lacked seasoning tremendously, not very much flavor with the sauce either, just tasted like meat so I ate maybe half. The cheese curds and curly fries were so good!! Their ranch is THE BEST. Music was like dance/trance which I enjoyed as I like that kind of music. The olive oil malt was deeeeeelish too. I don't think I'll be back, but if in the area I'd get some curds to go.

Absolute hidden gem! When I say hidden, I mean hidden. I was looking right at it and wasn't sure it was there. Stepping through the front door I was greeted with some fun taxidermy. Being a native upper midwesterner this made me feel right at home. We ordered at the register (order #1... score!!!), and grabbed a table in the back. The music was rocking and the smell coming off the grills was making me soooo hungry! The food was out fast and it was fantastic! We each had a double and they were all good! The smash on the burger was spot on! The Maillard reaction was perfect! The bun was soft and fresh and the pickles had a great flavor. I got a side of the cheese curds and they were everything you would hope for! The batter was a nice golden brown and the cheese had a good pull to it! Great food, great service! Take the time to find Wolf's Head, it is worth a visit!!!

Craving a smash burger, this place came up with good reviews. We arrived around 11:30am am parked around the corner from the restaurant. The restaurant was empty and the woman behind the counter welcomed us in. The restaurant was long and narrow with the front area (where you order and wait for to go orders) then walk down the hall past the kitchen to a few tables to eat at. The woman was helpful and present. We ordered the double cheeseburger and curly fries to go. We were home and eating in 15 minutes. The burger was exactly what I was hoping for - juicy, crisp pieces and a good amount of cheese and dressing. The fries were well seasoned but could have been crispier. We'll definitely return

Finally got a chance to check out Wolf's Head Burger. If you're looking for a spot that offers fantastic, reasonably priced smash burgers.. this is the place. The small menu is a lifesaver for anyone prone to decision paralysis. The burger itself is great: the soft bun is filling, and the patty has that perfect, savory flavor with just the right amount of grease oozing out of your fresh, made to order meal. They only offer seasoned curly fries, but it's a generous serving that easily feeds two people. Just a few things to note: seating is small and limited on busy days, and be prepared to smell like burgers if you dine in!

A lowkey smash burger spot just across the water on the Eastside. Inside is small but cozy, classic diner vibe. Tables can be hard to come by during busy hours though. Staffs were very friendly despite being super busy. I enjoyed their Burger Week burger with very crispy and thin patty and unique Pretzel Chili Crisp. Curly Fries were nice and crispy as well. Would be back for the Malt Shakes and Cheese Curds next.

If you're like me, smash burgers or one of your favorites! We have several good smash burgers in Portland, but I feel like the sides are never quite adequate. The smash burgers were nice and Lacey thin with crispy edges.. the American cheese just oozed, the bun was nice and soft. For the sides, I usually would prefer a nice in shoe string french fry but I found a whole new level of delicious with these nice hot crispy and gooey cheese curds. To top it all off having that bolt milkshake just really tight everything together! Service was great and fast we were served within 10 to 15 minutes of arriving. Ambience remind you of an old diner in the Midwest.! if you're looking for a nice quick smash burger with flashback to childhood a milkshake this is where you wanna go!

A new contender has entered the arena. A new contender for best burger in the city! Yes Wolf's Head is for real. Good luck finding it. You're doing to get off on highway 99 near the Hawthorne bridge. Once you feel sufficiently lost and a little sketched out, that's right where you'll find this place. If you're lucky enough to find it, buckle up for some really good burgers. Classic smash burgers with some rotating specials. Oh you heard about the Malts? Yeah get your word a malt. It's legit legit. Loaded fries are as good as you would think. Is it the best in the city? Some might say so. I won't reveal my official rankings, but wolf's head is on there. (4.8 Stars)

Seriously great burger. I would have never found this place without someone telling me where it is. Even so, took me a second to find the entrance. It was empty when I got there, got a table fine, and ate there no problem. Be careful of the train tracks outside. One of my favorite burgers in town.

Pretty good smash burgers. Prices were reasonable. I prefer a bigger patty style but for smash burgers they were good.

We stopped by here in the late afternoon after working up an appetite on a bike ride. It was a little hard to tell if they were open-the door is a cage-like metal material and it almost looked closed. But we were in luck and there was a lull in business so we had the place to ourselves. The guy at the counter where you order patiently answered our questions about the offerings on the board behind him. Basically they have smash burgers (singles or doubles) with all the good stuff like cheese, caramelized onions, etc. I paid $1.00 extra for lettuce & tomato and my husband added lettuce & a fried egg to his. We made one order a combo with curly fries and a chocolate malt. The burgers were so flavorful! The shake was thick and had lots of malt flavor, which I loved. The fries were great too. We'll be back! You should try it too!

On a Sunday at 11am, the line was already about 15 parties long. I ordered the Yolko Zeppelin, which comes with pesto, fried eggs, and sausage patties in sourdough. There's outdoor seating to sit down and eat at. They make the sandwiches fresh on the spot, so it came out toasty and warm. At first I was like, how good can an egg sandwich be? But I can see why there's hype. The sausage patties were crazy good, charred on the outside but tender and soft, super aromatic. A satisfactory pit stop in Portland!

Overall, I don't quite understand the hype. The experience was organized, the staff was great, and the service was quick, but the temperature of the food really took away from the meal. It was okay, but not a breakfast spot I'd go out of my way to visit again. Street parking only, so you may have to drive around a bit to find a spot. Ample outdoor/patio seating. With delivery and tip, our total was about $79...which seems steep, but realistically their "sliders" are about the size of a standard Popeyes chicken sandwich with a HUGE piece of chicken. We got 4 sandwiches, fries, mac and cheese and the five piece mozzarella "slabs" (they're not sticks lol), plus I ordered a large ranch and Dave's sauce (like a better version of Chic-Fil-A sauce) and a small hot honey and Reaper ranch...so price pretty standard for the amount of food. The food traveled well and these were literally the best chicken sandwiches we've had. Chicken was juicy and crispy and a dry season that was insanely good. Slaw was crunchy and pickles were tangy. I added hot honey and Dave's sauce to mine and they were amazing. Fries are standard crinkle cut, but well seasoned and crispy. Mac and cheese was good, pretty much the exact kind you'd want as a kid...gooey and Kraft like flavored but with shells and a little wetter. Mozzarella "sticks" were good, I got them in Mild and if anything they were seasoned with the same seasoning they use for the chicken and very good, but surprisingly a bit too salty for me...I'd probably stick to the sandwiches and the fries to be honest. OKAY, but for the HEAT LEVELS: I debated for a while on which to order because I'd say we have a decent spice tolerance...like habaneros are my favorite, but I find them spicy. Buldak ramen is hot as heck, but manageable. To be safe, I got us each a Mild and Medium the first time and we noticed very little variation between the two, and maaaaybe a small spice kick on the back end with the Medium. That being said, we both agreed we'd like a little extra spice next time and considering the jump between Mild and Medium was so minimal, we figured Hot or Extra Hot would be good for us. WE WERE SO WRONG. We ordered again on Sunday. Two Hot sandwiches and one Extra Hot to share...and I highly recommend ordering either of those if you enjoy pain, anguish, are looking to smell colors and taste sounds; because I'm pretty sure we both almost simply passed away. I used half a large container of Dave's sauce on my Hot sandwich as well as an ungodly amount of honey...and by the time the tears in my eyes cleared I realized my fiance was just walking laps through the house in between bites. The flavor is still there, but at what cost? About 20 minutes after eating we both resigned to carrying the fireball in our stomachs to lie down and wait to succumb to our choices, only to awake 4 hours later with hiccups and burps that would make a fire breathing dragon envious. Just be warned if you like spice, you won't find it in the Medium except for at a totally normal amount, if you love spice...you'll find it and then hate that you did at the Hot or above amount. Suffice to say, we'll be returning often...or ordering (whatever)...but we're sticking to Medium even if that makes us wimpy. And if you know someone who chooses Extra Hot or Reaper for enjoyment, you should not only fear them, but get a restraining order...because something ain't right if you can enjoy that. And if you're chaotic like us and STILL want to try a higher spice amount, do yourself a favor and just order a single tender first to try the different levels so you can enjoy your meal fully without being surprised at how one level can increase the spice by 1% and then the next somehow jumps it up 50%. I wish there was a way to get a Medium-Hot one, but I'd still rather take the less spicy, more flavor. Anyways, perfectly cooked chicken, fast service and I'd highly recommend!
