First time staying in downtown PDX. Without any ideas of what to eat or where, quick yelp search for burgers brought up Killer Burger. It's only 3 short blocks from the AC Hotel Marriott. Inside has a somewhat rock/alternative vibe to it, which is my jam. Sports on the TV so it's got something for everyone. Choose to either dine in or take out. Lots of seating inside. Staff is friendly and restaurant is well maintained. Paper towel roll and ketchup bottle on each table. Hands down, the Motley Que is my absolute favorite burger. The crispy onions, bacon bits, bbq sauce with the well cooked smash burger and toasted/grilled buns! Omg, I'm still drooling over it! And the fries. Jeez, Portland knows how to do fries. Fried and salted perfectly. Each bite of fluffy crispy spud. They have small fries or "shareable", shareable is more than enough for 2 people. Their honey mustard sauce is pretty delicious too. We tried their Peanut Butter Pickle burger and that was cool. Personally neither of us fully enjoyed the entire burger but it was interesting and glad we tried it. What was not to our liking, how thick the peanut butter sauce is at the end. I think due to the peanut butter being, peanut butter, it just moves as a clump so our first half of the burger was light tasting of the sauce. Then the last half of it was just FULL of peanut butter and hard to swallow. I'd recommend trying it and cutting it up into 4 pieces immediately to get a few bites each, especially if you're on the edge of this trendy burger. During our 3 day stay, we had to eat here twice. Last meal before heading back to Hawaii.

Husband and I were searching for smash burgers and Yelp led us here. We were surprised by the size of the burgers; for $10 each, this is definitely decent value. However the fries were a little disappointing. One serving seemed like it was already partially eaten before reaching our table. The twang seasoning was excellent though! I had the PB burger while husband had the classic. I was surprised the PB was so sweet. I can see what they're doing for, pairing sweet and briny and salty but sadly it didn't work for me. I preferred the classic instead. Would have loved to try the $2 PBR but they were sold out! Ambiance was loud. It was hard to have a casual conversation. But facilities were clean, including the bathroom which requires an entry code. I would return if we're in the area, but don't think we'll seek it out.

I went there because this place was advertised as voted for best burger for several years in a row. I am not sure if it was just this location or if I went there at a bad time, but the burger was just ok. Service was quick and fast but the food was a bit disappointing.

Did I eat Killer Burger twice on my short trip back to Portland? Yes, yes I did. Service here is friendly and willing to help you with any requests. Ordered the Bender burger, a delicious Western-Style burger with bacon, bbq sauce, crispy jalapenos, grilled onions, cheddar, and more! Definitely the type of burger that puts you in a food coma. I might have been burger'd out, but I wasn't able to finish the last bite this time. I think the quality from the other location I went to was a little better, but this location is still valid when I'm looking for something to eat downtown.

After visiting Powells Book Store, I got on the bus and attempted to go to The Heist food pods. I got lost and was not going to make it since they closed at ten and I had my heart set on a Lao and Cambodian fusion truck called Golden Triangle. Instead of getting on another bus, i took my solo self on a walking tour for my bday. I really wanted to go to Creepy's or at the very least a creepy bar, i ended up walking into an alley way full of lights that had an oyster bar and a bar called Shanghai where it was dark, red and creepy. I went downstairs and they were rocking out. I left because it was not my vibe, but saw a keep Portland weird sign. I walked a few blocks for 10 minutes, checked out the food trucks near SW & Salmon. I was not interested and continued walking until I found Killer Burger and a Killer Burger sounded good. Of course, I wanted to keep Portland weird so why wouldn't I order a Peanut Butter Bacon & Pickle Burger. Did I like it? No. It was odd. I think the mayo threw me off. I think I would have been able to eat it without the Mayo. It had a powdery after taste, but i was determined to finish it. The cashier was si sweet and let me know if I did not like it, to please let her know. Portland's hospitality is just above and beyond and I fell in love with the city and people. Fries were delicious. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Wish I would have gotten a $2 beer from them. I would try Killer Burger again.

Solid burger joint! Burgers are so tasty, juicy and full of flavor! The burgers and fries came out quick, hot and ready! Love the punk rock indie vibe and music! The peanut butter dip and spicy G sauce hit! Everything was a solid 10/10 including their 2$ PBR.

I had to try their peanut butter burger and it did not disappoint! The creamy sauce pairs surprisingly well with the juicy burger. I loved it! Service was great, and everything was super tasty. If you're looking for something unique and delicious, I highly recommend giving this place a shot!

Overall a nice spot for a quick bite in downtown. Parking is a challenge just based on proximity and there is no dedicated lot. The food is definitely above average and the portions are fair for the price. The tables and floors could be kept a bit cleaner. The restrooms require a code. A pretty nice atmosphere and a good place for a casual bite.

Checked out Killer Burger and was able to try the classic burger. The burgers size was decent and buns were fresh. I went with minimal ingredients because I wanted to try the burger in its all its rawness. Upon the first bite, I already knew it was a quality burger. I was satisfied with my choice. Do check out if you're in the area.

Peanut butter burger was very interesting. Definitely worth trying but the palette gets tiring after a while. Their veggie burger option is enjoyable. Fries are fantastic! Staff is friendly.

Classic burger $10.95 but totally filling and a healthy portion of bacon inside, not like only one little piece like the other places hehe

Great little burger joint, burgers are BIG, you won't leave hungry and burgers are priced moderately I feel MOST importantly, $2 PBR all day from what I can tell, I went on a Saturday at noon and got two pints of PBR for a whopping $4, where can you even find prices like that these days!?! They advertise it in their windows but didn't believe it until I tried it myself lol It's got a good amount of seating and only like a ten minute walk from pioneer square where you can catch practically any MAX line to get anywhere so it's really convenient for public transit, so you know you can drink and not have to worry about driving :) There's a bar area in the back and well spaced out tables so it's got a chill vibe, you order at the front and they bring you the food, super simple system and you don't have to worry about anything or a waiter bugging you or anything Will definitely be going back :) maybe stop off on the way home from work and snag a beer now that I know how reasonable their prices are (also they have craft beers for $6.50 which is totally a good price too)

This is a stunning burger…read more I have come here an embarrassing amount of times since moving back to Portland. The first time I came alone, just a little hungry and a lot broke. So I got the $6 little pleasure burger. A simple, single patty smash burger. It's everything a McDonald's burger wishes it could be - beefy and drippy, a squishy, slightly sweet bun, oozing hot grease without being heavy, lacy and crisp edges, and held together with the right amount of American cheese. It was the perfect amount for that day. Then I returned with my date. Twice. And he brought his coworkers for lunch because he liked it so much. I have had the western and the mushroom burger since, as well as the parm and chive waffle fries. They have nuggets and I'm inclined to believe they're great. The staff is great, it's a small team and they're all there every single day. They care about their product and your experience. The space is a simple counter, not good for large groups. It should be noted that even though their burgers would be great with a beer, they don't seem to have a liquor license! So don't expect an IPA with that shroom burger. Maybe someday!

The water is serve yourself which I actually prefer. There wasn't a ton of seating on the cashier level but there is more seating upstairs which we did not visit to take a look at. There's also plenty of seating outside and covered tent seating. It took about 12-15 minutes for the food to be served which was ideal. IMO. This BBQ is Kansas City style, so the sauce is a bit sweeter. We got the brisket, the chicken wings, and sides. We couldn't decide if on the sauce for the wings, so we got all 3 on the side. The Alabama white sauce was A+ The brisket was perfectly tender. It had great flavor and marbling. The wings are full wings with the drummette attached. That's the way to do it! They are smoked and then fried. They got the crisp just right. Let's talk about sides! We got the collard greens, coleslaw, and baked beans. They were all FANTASTIC! The coleslaw is a vinegar coleslaw, which I love. It wasn't the sweet mayonnaise style that most people don't enjoy. It was so good! The collard greens were perfectly flavored and tender! I couldn't have done better myself. The beans were sweet but also savory. Not super sweet, which makes me happy. Very well balanced. The server was super friendly and nice. She explained everything to us and made sure we were happy. They have a bar with various beers. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Very casual but perfect for BBQ. After reading the great reviews, I'd wanted to get over there, and I'm glad I finally did. The ribs were perfect, the pulled pork was as good as I've ever had. When the brisket is solid but the least exciting bite, you've got a great platter. The mac and cheese side is excellent. I loved the slaw, though I'd skip it next time due to more onion than I'm cool with. Sauces are okay, but would love a spicy option.
