So good! We tried the two meat tray and got the brisket and ribs. Both were so tender and delicious. You can try a couple of their sauces -- all were great. I personally liked the original bbq and tamarind one. The two meat tray comes with two sides, and we tried the 1.) sweet potatoes and collard greens and 2.) the spicy baked mac and cheese. Note that the sweet potato dish is different from your classic Southern sweet potato side -- it is more mild, less 'candied.' Not bad, just different if you're expecting more classic flavours. The mac and cheese was so good. The cashier was very kind. A handful of large tables outside. A few inside and some high top chairs/tables. Note that their restroom is located outside (port a potty) but it was clean.
This is EXACTLY what I needed on a busy work trip. I'd had a migraine for over a day and needed something hearty. The rainbow haired gentleman who took my order was super friendly. Service was QUICK. The pulled pork sandwich, baked mac, and side of slaw hit the spot. My migraine went away before I'd even finished my meal (proof that good food is medicine). And whoever is picking the music has great taste. I will absolutely be back on future work trips!
A super solid place for some great bbq, sides, and even a smashed burger. We came here for lunch and wanted to try an assortment of items. The special of the day was prime rib, so me made sure to try that as well. We had the brisket, pulled pork, spare ribs, turkey, and sausage. For the sides, the spicy Mac n cheese, broccoli cauliflower bake, pork & beans, sweet potato & collards, potato salad, and regular Mac n cheese. Everything was super tasty and worth trying out. I was pleasantly surprised with how good the turkey and ribs were. The spicy Mac n cheese was super delicious and is a must. The jalapeño cheddar sausage is also a must. The smashed burger was also made really well and the fries being cooked in beef tallow was super flavorful. Overall, worth going, but go with a few people so you can try a little of everything.
I feel like most BBQ places do one or two things well, while one or two things are just okay. That was NOT my takeaway from Bottos. After reading the great reviews, I'd wanted to get over there, and I'm glad I finally did. The ribs were perfect, the pulled pork was as good as I've ever had. When the brisket is solid but the least exciting bite, you've got a great platter. The mac and cheese side is excellent. I loved the slaw, though I'd skip it next time due to more onion than I'm cool with. Sauces are okay, but would love a spicy option. Honestly, none of the meat begged for extra sauce, I just love sauce. Seating was limited and the place is pretty small, so probably hit and miss during peak hours. Loved the food. Will return.
We ordered ahead but that does not mean that they will have it ready then, it just guarantees they will set aside the meat (is my understanding). We waited 25 minutes from the time we waited in line until we let them know we had arrived to when we got the order. It is some of the absolute best pulled pork I've ever had. And the Mac and Cheese was fantastic (best in town). The other meats were okay and I didn't care for and of the sauces. Beans also didn't really have depth of flavor. Overall well prepared food and were look forward to trying their other menu items. Small parking lot by the building. Tables inside and it is very clean. Good service too.
Had a friend in town that was visiting from California, he mentioned he wouldn't mind finding a nice barbecue place for dinner so I took a lo ok around on yelp and Botto's was close by to both of us so I thought that would be a good stop. Turns out I was correct as this is a well established barbecue restaurant and has been around for many years. It appears to be a really nice local spot. When I arrived I had a hard time finding a parking space, and there was a line out the door waiting to order. I made my way through the line, and my friend joined me before we had to place our order. I chose the burnt ends as that was a weekend special along with a Polish sausage. I had the potato salad and macaroni and cheese as my side my friend chose a plate with brisket. The food arrived in a reasonable amount of time and it looked delicious, smelled delicious and it tasted delicious. I would definitely recommend this local joint if anyone is looking for good tasty barbecue.

Wow. The line was out the door at 12:05 and they opened at 12 on that day. 100% worth the wait. We went on a Saturday so we could get the pork belly burnt ends (my favorite!) we also indulged in a BBQ parfait (yes, you heard that right!). I wasn't sure what it was going to be but it had all my favorite ingredients-basically a galicky, creamy mac n cheese bowl with your choice of meat-brisket for me-topped with fried onions. I'm in heaven, I could eat this every day and be happy. My husband loves their smoked turkey and sausage. We also got a side of fries, cause why not? They are sort of taste like curly fries to me but they are straight. The honey mustard is my favorite to dip it in. Hint-all of this reheats well in the air fryer, as much as I wanted to eat it all in one sitting I had to stop myself from pigging out. Can't wait to go back and try the prime rib dip next! Love!
The order was ready right at 11:15 like the online estimated time instead when I got there, the staff was very friendly. I got the brisket cheesesteak and it was absolutely delicious and the cheese was so warm and melted and coded all the brisket, vegetables, and everything inside. I think the size of the sandwich is definitely shareable with another side between two people. My wife got the spare ribs and it was juicy and tender. We also got the tallow fries and those were absolutely delicious. Definitely going to come back here again try more things.
This bbq place is the bomb!! We met some friends for lunch and will definitely be back! Some indoor seating. But it's was a beautiful day so we sat outside.
Amazing brisket! The best I've had in the PNW. This place is bustling and there's often a line. Items can be sold out especially on the weekends so get in the queue early. My favorite is the two meat plate with brisket and sausage. The sides are exquisite. It's a small operation, but the staff is quite friendly. It's on the pricey side, but worth it. If you like authentic Texas barbecue and you live in Portland or are visiting, this is your spot! in a small A-frame building this place gets filled up fast. The only downside is that they don't have a bathroom. You have to use the porta potty outside, but it does have a code so it's not trashed at least.
Food was delicious and quick! Everything was nice and hot/warm. Friend and I shared a 3 meats combo which came with two sides, and we also added one sausage link. This was more than enough food for the both of use, which we ended up taking leftovers home. All the meats we tried tasted great. My favorite was definitely the brisket and the sausage. Next time I would opt for the regular mac and cheese and the french fries as sides. The french fries were absolutely DELICIOUS. They were crispy, airy, hot and well seasoned. I would come back just to get those fries! This is more of a self serve spot, so you order at the counter whenever you're ready. They give you a table number and then it's time for open seating. We got there just before the dinner rush so there was plenty of seats, but shortly after there was a line out the door and all tables were full. Definitely come a little earlier before 6:30/7 to beat that dinner rush! Overall a great spot and I would come back again!

Botto's is a great place to eat. First, the customer service is friendly and amazing. It's a busy place but luckily they have QR code menus where you can drool over their offerings and plan your order ahead. There aren't a ton of tables, but my dining partner and I were easily able to find somewhere to sit once we were done ordering. The food came out after a short wait. I loved the beans, potato salad (could have used a bit more flavor though), chicken wins (my favorite) the brisket, and the prime rib, which was extremely tender. Botto's has a really laid back vibe, great for a lunch or dinner out with friends and/or family. I would definitely visit again! Only downside was the cost. I can't say whether it was worth it or not. read more
My boyfriend and I stopped here on a Thursday later afternoon. We got the brisket and ribs to share with some potato salad and sweet potato collard greens. I was a fan of everything minus the pork ribs. I thought the pork ribs lacked flavor unfortunately. Aesthetically it looks amazing. The sauces were good and were a fan of mustard based sauce. Some very good BBQ at Botto's on SE Milwaukie. I had the Thursday special, the pastrami brisket. Savory and smoky, with a peppery, deep rich flavor. Tender, juicy texture. Came with a choice of BBQ sauce or mustard. I went for the BBQ sauce along with a couple of complimentary slices of white bread. Fine meal on a lovely afternoon. Excellent service. The line was long but the bbq was worth the wait. We had the Pork belly burnt ends, brisket, potato salad, mac & cheese, and the hula pie. The burnt ends were my favorite bite. Staff were super friendly. We sat outside on their patio. Overall great lunch on a sunny pdx day! Absolutely would go back and/or order ahead and carry out. read more

Absolutely incredible BBQ--must try! OK, so first off, the service was amazing. You order at the counter, grab a seat, and they'll bring the food right to you. Heads up--this isn't a fancy or romantic date-night type of place, but trust me, the food more than makes up for it. We ordered the pastrami brisket, jalapeño cheese sausage, and spicy sausage--all delicious. The spicy macaroni and cheese? Oh baby. Probably the best spicy mac & cheese I've ever had. We also had the stew (delicious), and even the baked beans -- which I normally don't like -- were delicious. And of course, the ribs were tender, smoky, and delicious too. The whole place smells like real deal slow-smoked barbecue, and every bite proved it. A delightfully delicious spot from start to finish. We'll definitely be back! read more

The side dishes-potato salad and pork and beans were very good. Turkey was also good. Ribs were juicy and well seasoned. The sauces were a miss. White sauce was too spicy. Texas sauce was too vinegary instead of "sweet and tangy". It was also orange colored. Service was very fast! read more
We always enjoy going to Botto's! The most recent visit was on a weekend day coming 20 minutes after opening the line was out the door. After we ordered it was a trickle; seems like people try to get in as soon as possible to get some cuts before they sell out. It took a while to get the food too. It's popular for a reason! The brisket is top notch and tender, perfectly spiced. The spicy mac is a crowd favorite and actually spicy but not blaring hot. The potato salad was okay and it felt like it was the kind with the peel on, but it was creamy and refreshing in contrast to the meat. read more
Be prepared to wait in line when you visit Bottos. Parking is limited but we found a spot close by. We came in on a weekday for dinner hoping to try the burnt ends and stew. Unfortunately they had sold out of both. Be aware that if you come later in the day several meats could be sold out leaving limited choices. The staff was very friendly, helped us make our choices, and let us know what was available and sold out. We went with a 2 meat & a 3 meat plate and got the last of the turkey & pulled pork and also chose brisket & sausage. For our sides we chose coleslaw, spicy Mac & cheese and regular Mac & cheese. Every meat we ordered was prepared deliciously. Each one was full of flavor, smoked perfectly and served hot. The coleslaw & spicy Mac & cheese were very good, the regular Mac & cheese was just ok. We also tried several of the sauces and every one of them were delicious. If only I could get corn bread here I would have been in bbq heaven! There are several tables and bar type seating available inside the restaurant but it gets very busy at prime meal times so seating can be very limited. It's a homey, butcher shop, type ambiance that makes it a fun place to check out. Overall we had a great meal here and we'll be back to try to burnt ends and the stew soon. read more
Botto's is a fun name for some fun BBQ and a fun menu. As far as BBQ goes in Portland, this is going to be top notch. They know what they are doing in here. We all deserve to know the flavor of award winning BBQ. This place isn't quite at that level but it's close. There are so many things I really want to try here, but what I had as a whole was big time. Sausage - Yes. Pulled pork - okay. Spicy Mac and cheese - absolutely omg. Casserole - wow yes/what a concept. Smash Burger - okay. Crack bar - Okay. The rest of the menu looks ridiculous. The daily specials look like maybe the best things they make. Biggest gripe with this place is the hours. Give the people what they want. Everyone who likes BBQ has to go here. No questions asked. (4.5 Stars) read more

Botto's is a heavy hitter in Portland BBQ. Barbecue is always pricey but this seemed like a solid deal at $24, with a meal worth of leftovers. I am steadfast in the belief that Botto's has one of the best smashburger deals in the city. $6 for a quarter pound brisket patty, cheaper than fast-food. Sausage was great at $7 and larger than other BBQ spots. Excellent casing snap. BBQ parfait is a great filling item at $11, mac is great and you get a good amount of meat. Good service is a plus, too. read more

The GOOD - Cozy spot with some amazing value smash burgers - Crispy edges on the 1/4lb beef patty - Nice and toasty bun - The regular smash burger is only $6 and deluxe (comes with lettuce) is $8 - Super creamy and stretchy Mac n cheese with a lil KICK to it (I still think about this one) The OK - Burger was a tad too greasy for my liking. You could tell they use a very high % fat ground beef or maybe it was the tallow. Still tasted great overall. - Their fryer was out of commission this day so couldn't try their tallow fries OTHER THOUGHTS - Wait and service time was reasonable, we went on a weekend so there was a bit limited seating. No complaints overall. - No bathroom OVERALL I'll be coming back in the area to try their BBQ next! Don't sleep on their smash burgers. Best value in Portland for only $6 for a single. read more

I was recently in Portland, Oregon and we all were in the mood for BBQ. Botto's popped up a few times during my search so we decided to stop by. I'm so glad we did. The brisket was fall apart tender, the turkey was juicy like it was slow cooked in flavor itself, and the smash burger was one of the best I've ever had! Crispy edges, juicy center, absolute perfection! The fries were cooked in beef tallow and had the best flavor! Not sure if I've ever had anything cooked in beef tallow and I'm on a mission to eat as many things I can that has. That stuff adds amazing flavor. When I visit Portland again, I will definitely be going back to Botto's BBQ. This is a must try! read more

At 11:00 am , it was a waiting line . As I was getting closer to ordering , I was deciphering the busy looking menu on the wall . No combos . Only trays for multiple savorings of meat . So I had brisket , burnt ends and ribs . And no disappointments from my side . Funny. No chicken . Sides are flawless . Cocktails are offered , so look to the bottom of the counter . One giant meat palace . Too much to get into . Seats inside are few , and outside could get chilly . One port a potty to rule them all . Why ?? So yeah , I'll return . Reasonably priced . read more

4.5/5 My brother said this was the best BBQ in town in his opinion, so ofc we had to check it out to test his theory! Very limited number of indoor seating so be prepared to eat outside if weather is not looking warm or if you have a big party. Ordering does take awhile if there's a line. They have a rotating day to day special menu, we came Sunday so our special was Burnt Ends. Ordered a 3 meat platter, which comes with two sides. We got double brisket, burnt ends, spicy mac and collard greens. We also added another side of regular mac for our daughter. They also have a list of sauce offerings. I like spicy anything and went with spicy white and my husband tried the rest. Meats were rubbed and cooked well and tender. Our brisket was half and half on being juicy and dry. I ended up with the dry bit and was a bit disappointed but the spicy white sauce was so fire I ignored it. Burnt ends luckily had a small restock so we got some and it was cooked well and juicy, but more sweet in flavoring so it balanced well with dip. The spicy mac is SPICY and not kid friendly (jalapeños and visible pepper seeds spicy) but it was so so good. Almost like a spicy jaalpeno alfredo mac if I could describe it. A great pairing with all the meat and the spicy white sauce. I don't like collard greens or mustard, but I enjoyed the collard greens here as well as their mustard sauce to my surprise! Didn't care for the other two sauces. Will be back. read more
Big windows on a sunny day. Friendly dude at the counter happy to explain. Got a small pulled pork sandwich and the cheesy brisket hash, Whatever else you get, get an order of the hash, great flavors and textures, hunks of brisket, their white heat sauce. The pulled pork very tasty, a good level of smoke, meat falling out of the bun--the bun a little too soft for the job. the cole slaw was 2 stars; the little bit of pickled veggies nice. read more

These guys know their barbecue! I think I've bended just about every barbecue spot in town. This favorite spot for brisket. They had beef cheeks on the special today. I've never had that. OMG! Amazing! If you ever see that on the menu, Treat yourself! read more
