Honestly, I was underwhelmed. I had been so eagerly awaiting going to this place as I had heard about homemade tortillas and bbq meat, some of my favorite things! I liked it. The pulled pork taco was solid and the chopped brisket was good, the tequila verde chicken was shredded and juicy and yummy, the homemade flour tortillas are great. The vegan mushroom taco was not great, for me personally the corn tortillas are wayyyyy too thick and it takes away from the flavor of the filling but also no ability to eat the taco like a taco- its more of a cut into bites situation because the corn tortillas can't fold well. I didn't eat most of my vegan taco and Im super glad I didnt sub corn tortillas for all my tacos like I originally wanted to. I also ordered a side of beans because I love beans and because I think the beans at a restaurant say a lot about a restaurant. It's the small details, and the foundations if you can get that right then it's only up from there. Unfortunately, just do yourself a favor and skip that mushy pile of flavorless pinto beans. Sad. You get to choose your salsas at the counter upon ordering and you get little tiny ramekins maybe enough for one taco, so I got up a couple times to ask for more. Service was counter service, great outdoor patio and tons of seating. Drink menu looked fun. Anyways, my total was $58 (before tip) for 6 tacos and black ice tea. Overall, I probably won't be back as some tacos were solid but not something I would ever crave or something I would specifically seek out. I'll keep to my favorite taco truck and spots on 82nd that have more flavor, abundance & as much salsa and pickled veggies as my heart desires.

Finally got to try Matt's BBQ tacos and these might be the best in town! I had the tequila verde chicken taco with tequila chicken, onions and cilantro on a flour tortilla. The meat was so tender and I enjoyed the green sauce with it. The portions are good and I felt that one taco can easily fill you up. The space is cute and the staff are friendly. I will definitely be back to try more tacos!

We finally got to check this place out & it did not disappoint! Already a big fan of the cart over at Hinterland, we were looking forward to seeing what the new Sellwood spot was all about. The tacos were fantastic. I always forget how big they are! They're larger than typical street tacos, for me 2 tacos is more than enough. Seriously, the chopped brisket taco was shockingly good...like I'm still thinking about it 3 days later good. Crispy bits mixed with super tender flavor-packed, melt-in-your-mouth goodness...honestly if all they served here was this taco I would happily support that! All kidding aside, the other tacos are great, especially the mushroom tacos. Definitely stoked they finally upgraded the chip situation, the guac & queso were delicious. Loved the ambience & the bar setup, my Cadillac margarita was great. Staff were super friendly & although it's counter service, they did have someone coming around periodically checking to see if we wanted to order anything else. Overall very kind staff, we enjoyed chatting with them a bit & appreciated their attentiveness. Love everything about the last rodeo, great job to this team on a great spot!

This is a great outdoor space with ample seating. All is shaded in the late afternoon so on hot days this is a great spot to check out. We ordered the Smoke and Bees, Negroni and Tiki Luau Lounge for cocktails. We had the chopped brisket taco, sliced pork belly taco, pulled pork taco and the G.O.A.T taco for food along with chips and salsa. The staff was very helpful and laid back - we didn't feel pressured to order immediately. First off, I'm a huge fan of Matt's bbq, Matt's bbq tacos and Eem so throwing in cocktails was a no brainer to check out. The cocktails were all good and tacos as I had hoped.

This was a great spot on Milwaukee. We came in for a couple drinks and a snack. The espresso martini hit the spot, as did the margarita. The tacos were the highlight though. We tried the GOAT, chicken verde, beyond beef, and turkey. The meat was so good in each one, I was wishing I was more hungry. I love that they have options for every diet. I can see why they were so busy on a Sunday night. It was pretty full.

This is an order at the bar and sit-yourself place. We went on a Friday night and it was extremely packed. They had run out of a couple of items on the menu. BUT, the service was phenomenal! Our waitress was extremely accommodating, especially since there was a mistake with our order and we ended up waiting a long time for our food. The food was good, but my only complaint would be the portion size. The burrito was so small. Same with the tacos, which ended up making us order about 4 or 5 tacos to get full, so it gets spendy. Other than that, the ambiance was great, especially if you're going with kids.

Always big crowds at this new location. Unfortunately, the price of tacos is a very high entry point. ($6-$9) The brisket is tasty as are the tortillas but the sauces were not my favorite. Counter service, the Portland standard.

Nice spot with a dog-friendly patio. Had the brisket, pork belly and smoked turkey tacos. All were delish and the hand made tortillas and house sauces are really what make it stand out. Tacos are about $6-$7 each given the slow BBQ cook of the meats so if you have a beer with your meal expect to pay around $25 - $32 per person.

My husband and I already love Matt's BBQ Tacos from MANY visits to the Alberta location at Great Notion. We have also enjoyed several visits to Holy Ghost! So we were excited to check out the Last Rodeo during the soft opening. The space is very cool with lots of seating, especially the large patio! I can see it getting super busy but counter service should keep things moving. The staff were all super friendly. The food is so good! We always get the brisket tacos and queso supremo but we also tried a few new things this time. You can't go wrong. We'll definitely be back and will recommend The Last Rodeo to everyone!

Counter service and the food came out fast. Slushy was flavorful and well balanced. Very loud inside. Tacos are large and legit tasty!

Dog friendly!

I can't get enough of this place, it's my new addiction/favorite spot in Sellwood. Great smoked meats from Matt's BBQ, accompanied by amazing cocktails. They're super dog-friendly, my dog and I love to sit in the covered heated patio area. I also want to shout out the espresso martini on tap and the beef fat waffle fries. Order at the bar and they'll service your table for more drinks once you've ordered. They play pretty good music, and the ambiance is good when the place isn't full of children.

Severely underwhelmed by just about everything. Service left us confused. Why is the bartender yelling at us? Why is the waiter gaslighting us that we got the wrong drink? Food...good but nothing to come back for. Don't be fooled by the beautiful aesthetic, go to Kay's for better food, better drinks and better people.

Tacos and delectable salsas

So the layout is a little confusing, I mean they have to explain it. Frankly, just tell folks to head inside and wait in line and it'd be just fine. That of have full service table staff which would make more sense. Only oddity but I'm not uptight so it's not a biggie. Staff -super friendly. Bartender to table service, great folks. The food, fantastic. FANTASTIC. I tried 3 tacos and could not decide which was best (cheeseburger, breakfast chorizo, classic brisket). 3 was too many as we had an app (queso, excellent). I had their specialty drink which as really unique, I enjoyed. Had a great experience.

I tipped generously assuming the food was going to be excellent. We ordered 2 Langua tacos, asada burrito, carnitas burrito and a carnitas quesadilla. We were told that it would be about 15 minutes. The space is right on 26, so fairly noisy. There were a few tables an available. The food was ready on time and we went home. I cut the carnitas burrito in half for my daughter and found 2 large bones. My other daughter, who ordered the carnitas quesadilla, found a bone as well. The carnitas itself had good flavor but an abundance of grease was an issue. The asada was pretty good and balanced with the beans and rice. The Langua had some spice to it and was flavorful and tender. The tomatillo and spicy sauce were great. The burritos were mislabeled on there boxes (asada was carnitas and vise versa). Pretty disappointed and hope this occurrence is not the norm.

Parking was a little tricky but o opted to park off street and walk. Looked like it was a popular spot. I ordered some tacos and waited maybe 10 minutes. The place itself is clean. There is a large menu on the wall and the ordering process was simple. Unfortunately, they did not have margaritas. The tacos were plated beautifully. Everything was fresh, I wish they were a little more flavorful. The sauces helped. My tripa tacos could have been less chewy. I also ordered lengua and it was by far the best. Their could have been a little more meat on all of them. They did have an option to do that for an additional fee. Tacos were priced at $2 each.

I was excited to go here as I had been meaning to visit for at least 6 months. I wasn't disappointed. This taqueria is the real deal, and very authentic. I also appreciate it's LGBTQ owned, and like to be inclusive in how I spend money. The tacos are amazing I had two there, and took two home. They were all delicious and not one disappointed. Their taco menu is very extensive, and it's nice that they have a lot of vegetarian options as well. One of my favorites was the one with mole ,and poblanos, also the chicken one, also the carnitas. Flavors so rich and satisfying. The staff is very friendly, and helpful. Extremely quick service which I love. Even though I only speak a little bit of Spanish. I tried, and they were very welcoming. They are fluent in Spanish. I knew it was an authentic taqueria when I heard a native spanish speaker speak Spanish at the counter. I don't want to leave out their drinks as they have quite a selection both alcoholic, and non alcoholic. I tried the horchata, which was amazing. I have been craving Pozole for a long time, and they had it as a special chicken with green sauce, and pork and a red sauce. Both simply amazing and a great deal. This restaurant is very reasonable, and you get quite a lot for the money. Last but not least I can't forget the ambiance which felt very authentic, and reminded me of being in a Taqueria in Mexico or Southern California. the place is decorated very thoughtful with a lot of candles, and many shrines. They also have a love of Mariah Carey and saw many photos of here in the restaurant. They have both outdoor seating and indoor seating. A lot of plants outside which all seem very happy and well cared for. I love this place, and will be going back for sure. The place is very casual which I appreciate. We almost didn't, because we have been let down so many times trying to get good Mexican food. Maybe that is the way to try out something new, with very low expectations. In this case, it really worked. We got chicken burritos. I confirm also that it is chicken breast, and it is grilled. Wow, it's crazy good chicken, so much flavor. This is as good or better than El Jefe. The burrito was large and I finished it all. I think they forgot to add in some of the things to have everything included but even with that it was still the best burrito we have had in PDX. I think it was missing cilantro, pickled onions, sour cream and maybe cheese and still it has so much flavor. Can you imagine how good it could be. We will be back. They use whole peruvian beans, that's a nice touch. Good salsa too. No Jamaica. It would be great to list the Beaverton loc on the website and list phone numbers.
