Tacos De Puerco and Tacos de Camarones Baja style

The staff was nice. The place was clean. The drinks were good specifically the Mezcal drink we also had chips and guacamole, but we did not take a picture that was really good too, but I like mine more spicy and with more lime we couldn't tell if this place was authentic, but the tortillas were definitely made here so no complaints.

As its name states, Nuestra Cocina feels like you are over at someone's homey kitchen. No frills and thrills, Nuetra Cocina gets straight to the point with good food. Cozy and welcoming, service was attentive and hospitable. We shared chips and guac, and I got the tacos de puerco. Their handmade tortillas truly make all the difference! The tortillas had a little texture from the masa, which I love and it held together nicely, soaking up the juices from the meat. The spiced pork was tender and well-seasoned, and the salsa had a nice kick. Overall, a solid taco! The atmosphere is just homey and comfy, everything you want in a restaurant. Division St. has great food, and Nuestra Cocina is not one to be missed!

When you arrive prepare for a wait. We were tiled about 30 minutes. They don't accept reservations and the restaurant is fairly small with modest seating. Servers are buzzing around waiting in tables as people continue to poke in looking to be seated. The place as a nice vibe of the sound of the patrons chatting over top one hundred pop music. Once we got seated it didn't take long for the food ordered to get to our table. The enchiladas were amazing. They were full of flavor and some of the best enchiladas I've ever had. The Gorditas rellenas were spectacular. I tried the vegen version which to my surprise was very very tasty. I also enjoyed the cauliflower ceviche coated with some sort of balsamic reduction. Not pictured I finished the meal off with a coconut lime sorbet. Perfect ending to a great meal. This place is next level Mexican cuisine. If you as k me was it worth the wait I would answer YES!!!!!!!

After much too long of a wait (thanks for nothin Covid), I finally returned and was instantly reminded of why this is one of my favorite restaurants in Portland. I love the atmosphere. It's upbeat, cozy, and comfortable. And I love the open kitchen and eating at the kitchen bar. The flavors are always amazing. This time I enjoyed the Cochinita Pibil and it was delightful (don't tell Johnny!). Their Cadillac Margarita is one of my favorites. And even the simple flan desert was delightful and the best I've ever had. Prices are cheap, considering the quality and creativity of the dishes. There is much on the menu that I haven't had yet so I will have to return. I think this is also a great spot for date night :)

This is a Portland must!! I recommend Family style to share with 2+ people. The food was amazing, the drinks were amazing and the host was fast and kind.

What a fine variety of tasty foods, especially sauces, and that just in the four dishes we had. Chicken enchiladas in chile puya mole (lower right) was excellent, quite picante, and good sized for a small plate. The mole with the beef tips (upper left) very savory, more spice than heat; the beef itself very tender laid over the squash and rice. The chile relleno very fresh and well-stuffed. The tlacoyo (lower left) the most experimental order, the beef very tasty, the tortilla a little dry. They have excellent margaritas here. The place is popular, well packed, and a little noisy, with lots of light through the windows. And maybe best of all was the service, six stars at least!--very knowledgeable, good listener, great sense of humor.

Carne Asada Taco Trio. FYI I put the black beans on the one because it doesn't come with black beans.

Small place with a little outdoor patio. Their menu is not overwhelming which is great. Street parking is on either busy Division St. or a side street. Don't forget to pay if it's required. :-) They had a couple drink specials.... I had the Peach Sangria...it was just so so and didn't have a lot if flavor. They had good service and I ordered the carne asada street taco trio and a side of black beans because it's ah la carte. Since it was Tuesday early dinner the orders came quickly.....I was dining with 3 others. A tacos were delicious but the black beans had no flavor which was disappointing. They needed seasoning big time. Dining out is not cheap these days and yes the prices are not low here. All in all I do not know if I will be back since there are many other restaurants with a Mexican flair, that have great food for a lower price.

The food was amazing here so delicious I couldn't ask for a better food. I've been going here for years and I get a new thing every single time but this year just hits like nothing.

Coming from Texas, I struggled to find Mexican food here in PNW. Nuestra Cocina brings classic recipes with a twist with local ingredients. House made tortillas and some of the best mezcal margaritas in the city. Absolutely enjoy yourself.

Love. Love! LOVE!! Wonderful staff who make sure you have the best experience. Great music, patio, and ambiance. Wonderful food! We were seated inside and started with the guacamole. Very chunky (just how I like it) with onions, tomatoes, and cilantro with a squeeze of lime and a dash of salt I think. The chips looked homemade and were in strips (also my favorite) and lightly salted. I ordered the enchiladas Blanca with shrimp. SO GOOD. I've never had shrimp enchiladas before so this was a pleasant, new dish for me. I got the special peach ginger margarita AND a glass of the sangria. Both were delicious. Dessert was the chocolate pound cake with cinnamon ice cream and I think the ice cream was my favorite part! Great restaurant where the owner is involved and cares about your experience. Would highly recommend.

I appreciated the cardboard containers vs plastic but it did soak through. The bags it was packed up in kept it from becoming a mess. The smells were amazing and I had to taste as I plated. Everything was amazing, very flavorful, tender overall and large portions. Sadly, the carne was a little tough and I would not order this again. The Estofado de Carne had a hot sauce I had on the side. It was a very hot and delicious habanero sauce that was amazing! Great food, we'll be back for sure!!

I looked at the menu for a while, and EVERYTHING looked amazing. I couldn't decide! I eventually settled on the Arepas Relleno, which is a thick corn tortilla that is fried and split down the middle, then filled with absolute deliciousness! It's a bit of a fragile eat (mine was falling apart as soon as I picked it up), but dear lord is it tasty. My mouth is literally watering as I write this, remembering how good it was. That's saying something! The gentleman working there was very friendly, and kept speaking to me in what sounded like Spanish (I clearly don't speak Spanish). He soon realized I had little to no idea what he was saying, started laughing and apologized after switching to English. All the guys that had been in line before me were speaking Spanish with him, so I get it. Anyway, not much to say about the ambiance as it's a food cart, but overall a very positive experience and I will DEFINITELY be back. I gotta try everything else!

There were many large seating area available. One main cedar table was a big attraction. There is a fireplace with a table by it We got a table. I ordered a Borgona, fruit puree juices mix with Sprite. Never had one, but sounded really good. It came and it was delicious and fruity for a mocktail. We ordered a shrimp ceviche and octopus skewers to start out with. The Shrimp Ceviche was very delicious and it was something that I was very happy to share it with my friends. It was a big portion of shrimp cocktail with salsa on the bottom and these large sized blue chips. It was so good that we ate it quickly. Octopus skewers was a tad charred. Yet very delicious especially if you eat it with the pineapple together. Brings out the flavor of the pineapples quite well. We ordered the Pork Belly Tacos and Mole Shrimp Tacos which came in 3. I absolutely loved street tacos filled with good fresh ingredients. And both of these hot the spot. The pork belly was an absolute great flavor of the pork belly. The Shrimp was delicious. Cook perfectly and easy to devour quickly. DeFuego Nachos had Jalapenos. But wasn't listed. The nachos were delicious and it was quickly devoured. Wings came in 4 wings with garlic parmesan with carrots and celery and ranch on the platter. Heavily garlic on the wings yet very delicious. Half wedge salad was a surprise how much there is in the salad. A lot of fresh veggies there with cherry tomatoes and sliced radishes in it. I had a absolutely fun experience celebrating my birthday here. DeFuego had Happy Hour from 3pm to 6pm, seven days out of the week. Seems the Happy Hour here is very popular. You have 21 appetizers to choose from on the Happy Hour Menu. There are Mocktails, and any drinks you want available. Definitely will come back again.

I ordered 2 things and both came out wrong. Our waitress spoke very loudly and we could hear her having long personal conversations with people a couple tables away from us for 10+ minutes at a time, several times. While we waited for her, we ran out of water a few times and I had to ask for more. It was over an hour before our order was even taken. We did flag her down to order an appetizer, brussel sprouts with cheese on the side due to a dairy allergy, but... the sprouts came out with cheese on them. They corrected this fairly promptly, but then we sat for another 45 minutes before our order was actually taken. I ordered a steak as "somewhere between medium & medium well" and she correctly repeated my order back to me "medium/medium well." When the steak came out, it was WELL well done. Like, burnt. I wanted to send it back, but I didn't want to deal with the embarrassment or have to wait even longer for food. We were about an hour & 45 minutes into dinner by the time we got our food. I was so disappointed! I also wanted to get dessert to celebrate the occasion but the service was SO slow that we had to cancel our after-dinner plans. We ordered it anyway & requested the check promptly, giving up on our plans for the rest of the evening. We were only a party of 2, we arrived early for our reservation, & we watched several larger parties come and go while we waited for our order to even be taken. It was a Wednesday night and not overly busy, there were several empty tables, so I'm not sure what the hold up was. We were also seated at an odd table next to the kitchen with a small divider between us and the staff. It was noisy and I even heard 2 staff members exchange a joke about how someone else had left & said they'd never come back. They laughed about it. I wish I had the guts those people had to get up & leave! I've never once left less than a 20% tip and felt immense guilt not tipping well, but after experiencing the poor service then also hearing the staff blatantly acknowledge it & not care.... I was appalled. The Hilton bought the hotel attached to De Fuego and I'm shocked. This was a Monarch hotel before and I'd assume that the Hilton's standards would be higher but the service and quality here have tanked hopelessly low since the acquisition. I had a similar experience at The Underground before it closed. I've learned my lesson & won't come here for a special occasion again.
