My first impression of the hotel was a brief call before my arrival, after I booked my room, the person who answers seemed annoyed about asking for a refrigerator in my room. My reservation was on a Tuesday and Wednesday in the middle of January (there wasn't that many hotel guests). When my husband and I checked in at the hotel the front desk person corrected me on where I made my hotel reservation (I assure you I know who I have my credit card information to online, she was wrong). The hotel room was nice, nothing above average. The room I stayed in had a bathroom, which needed updating. The shower curtain was kinda cheesy, faucet and shower head wasn't updated. Obviously extremely minor details. The bedding and mattress were delightful. We also had a turn down service which was such a pleasant surprise. The shampoo and conditioner are very nice. Over all was a great size. Biggest room complaint was that it was extremely hot, we needed to open the windows and turn on the ac (it was 29 degrees outside and the window was open all night). In the morning they had coffee and tea available. It had snowed the nights that we stayed and they cleared the snow off our car for us. Great location in town and we will definitely be returning again. Overall a good experience, I'm glad I kept an open mind after my initial interaction with the front desk staff. read more

Great staff. No questions on that. That group is on the ball. The building is due for some updates. The room we stayed in was one of the cheaper rooms. The windows faced a road and there were two odd useless windows permanently covered with curtains. The morning sun came right through them and focused right where you had laid in the bed, We were up at 7am both mornings. The bathroom tiles had cracks. I don't think either of the thermostats actually do anything. I think they are for show. The bed was firm like pine board. Very uncomfortable. One light switch we decided did nothing. One turned on the hall light. The rest you had to handle at the lamp. No soda machine. WIFI was good though. read more

My wife and I could not have chosen a more incredible venue for our wedding. From the moment we walked in the front doors, the staff was kind and courteous and we were taken away by the beautiful rustic elegance of the inn. We selected our venue and began working with the wonderful event staff there. Lucy and Laura, the two event managers at the inn, are an absolute pleasure to work with. They are enthusiastic, kind, helpful, and incredibly talented at what they do in making events successful. This past weekend was our wedding and it was amazing. The event went off without a hitch. The food was amazing, the rooms were beautiful and clean, the staff and service was above and beyond what you could get anywhere. After the wedding, my wife and I stayed for a few days for a mini honeymoon of sorts and I'm so glad we did. It was like being at a home away from home. It was so relaxing and so nice to be surrounded by such wonderful people (the staff) in such a nice and comfortable inn. And I will say, if you have thought about a winter wedding...do it and have it at the Wolfeboro Inn. Then stay for a few days afterwards to relax and unwind. I HIGHLY recommend it. I cannot thank or praise the Wolfeboro Inn enough. I had to cancel a reservation for for a stay on October 12 and 13 due to travel restrictions in NH for COVID. I canceled the reservation on September 10 by phone, received and email confirmation of the cancellation. I was told that it could take up to 4 weeks to see a refund on my credit card and it's been almost 7 weeks and other tan a few apologetic emails, still no refund. Disappointing. read more

Everything is good but there is no mirror in my room except a small one in the bathroom. I couldn't even see my damn outfit.

Terrible service! On the night before a wedding the bartenders cut off the wedding party with no excuse except that we were "rowdy" which no one in our party was. The main bartender seemed like he just wanted to close up and hang out with his local friends. (our waitress apologized but said there was nothing she could do). The next day went to have lunch. Said it would be "awhile" as they were switching over from breakfast. Ordered a Louisiana chicken sandwich. After about a half hour waitress brought me a few chicken wings (bones and all) on two slices of white bread. When I pointed out this was not what the menu stated she apologized and went to get me a new sandwich, which took another 30 mins. Asked for the WiFi password and was told the bartender would be able to tell me, surprise he wasn't! Asked if there was a Walmart or Target type store close by and the bartender snidely said "not here". It seems like the bar and restaurant staff couldn't be bothered to serve you once you were already checked in. read more

the inn during my stay on june 13th-15th charged $822.44 for two nights with absolutely no services.....no food...no bar....no housekeeping!!!!! the room with a minimal view of the lake had a bed which was at one time used as a trampoline !!!! this is in "new hampshire"....not manhattan. this inn is unacceptable for the rate they charge.....and unacceptable period. read more

We stayed one night over Labor Day Weekend. I was happy we didn't have to pay for two nights. At first, I was worried because the decor was earth-toned and the lobby was not neat as a pin, but our room was very clean and nicely decorated. Great bed. This is not a chic place. It's homey. I was very happy to see that the bathroom was squeaky clean and fresh: gorgeous if not glamorous. Great toiletries. Clean! Clean! Clean! The Tavern music bothered my husband since it played in past 10PM but the bed was so comfortable I slept like a rock. Half the crowd in the restaurant was wearing tee shirts and ball caps. The other half was dressed for dinner. We had uncomfortable/dirty seat cushions in a booth, but the food was creative and well-prepared. Bread was great. Service was almost too slow but the waitress pulled it off just fine. read more

This country upscale hotel is only upscale in the lobby. Each time we took a shower there was 2 inches of standing water in the tub... the room smelled mildewy and at 5:15 in the morning delivery trucks were barreling down the road below our window... making it sound like they were actually in our room. The stairwell leading toward third-floor room was not vacuumed any day that we stayed there. I would not stay here again. If you do choose to stay here, do not stay on the odd numbered side of the hotel unless you want to be woken by delivery trucks. read more

This is my review for the hotel. See Wolfe's Tavern for the restaurant review. So the beds were comfy enough, it was a pretty basic hotel room. The housekeeping was SO accommodating when we wanted to check out an hour late. Then two hours late. Then two and a half hours late. Ughhh I hate being hungover. They do have a few haunted rooms, which is pretty cool. And some room on the second floor on the south side of the hotel has a hidden second room behind the main room - great for families to stay in, because the kids will get a kick out of the historic room. Small room, old uncomfortable mattress, noisy air conditioner, not very clean. Expensive - the most expensive inn in Wolfeboro by a long shot. Supposedly the Wolfeboro Inn has changed hands recently and was to be remodeled (long overdue), but the remodeling has been delayed at least once and wasn't underway when I was last in town a month ago. Food in the adjacent tavern is mediocre at best, the level of an average pizza parlor. I can't recommend the Wolfeboro Inn. read more

They're was a wedding reception going on when I stayed. The noise was very annoying. I called the front desk several times to ask them to handle the noise. After their event they hung out in the halls outside their rooms. The Inn is lovely and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I stayed in January so wasn't able to use the lake or their private boat. It was cold but there was always a fire in the lobby fireplace. Just check which part of the hotel you will be staying in and request to be as far away from the pub as possible. My traveling companion stayed in the back of the Inn and was very happy. read more

My sister and I stayed at Wolfeboro Inn last weekend. We were very disappointed with the room and the service in the restaurant. We had to ask for clean glasses in our room and trash was not emptied. The service was terrible in the restaurant on Friday night. The manager was not around. read more

The hotel is lovely in the lobby and public areas. I spent summers in Wolfeboro and my brother chose to make this town his home. I'm in town for just two nights and price dictated where I would stay an This was best priced for my two nights. On check in the young lady told me I was upgraded. Well if I was upgraded I don't want to see a lower class room. The rate was about $120.00 per night which I believe is reasonable for a decent place. The room was small but it was only myself so it worked for me. I used to stay here on a corporate rate that was less and had better rooms. Not sure if this is the policy but my room was not serviced and my dirty towels were never picked up today and I check out in the morning. Yet they charge $2.00 maid charge per day. Actually when I stay in any hotel I leave a better tip for the housekeeper than that. When I check out in the morning I'll see if they charge a housekeeper charge yet it was never performed. It's not the $2.00 but the fact that I returned to my room tonight to the used towels from last night are on the bathroom floor. read more

Made a reservation on fathers day. When we got there with our party the person we talked to did not write it down so we could not be seated or eat there for there Brunch. Then we tried again to have brunch there and was told to call back later in the week to make a reservation. We called later in the week then was told they did not have room for our party... Very classy place to stay in Wolfeboro and certainly very, very clean. All of the staff are VERY accommodating! It is right on the water and there is even a little beach to check out. It is conveniently located right in town and easy to walk to everything. While the price might be a little on the higher side (compared to other local hotels), it is well worth it for the reassurance of a clean, nice, comfortable stay. It is not as "modern" as say a city starwood hotel, but being at the lake in New Hampshire, it shouldn't be needed. The hotel keeps the cozy lake theme classy. read more

We had a Welcome Party for the night before our wedding at the Wolfeboro Inn in the 1812 room. We worked with Guen to plan and coordinate the night, and she was great to deal with. She was always prompt and responsive, and super helpful in giving recommendations for our party. The location is perfect, and the room itself worked perfect for our group of 70 or so. Wedding was great! Hotel was not. Front desk person was rude on the phone and at the desk. Room was small and stuffy AC not working well and for $299 a night that is not okay. Tavern very nice - but service was horrible - we waited and after hearing the hostess/bartender say that we just walked in and could wait awhile longer (we had been standing there for at least 10min) -they were not crowded and there were plenty of tables- after another 10 min with no one even looking our way we left... HIGH priced rude employees and stuffy rooms- NEVER again. read more

My husband Ryan and I cannot thank the staff of the Wolfeboro Inn enough for making not only our day but our weekend a complete success! We arrived around three and were given our room keys immediately to get ready for our rehearsal dinner. Our guests were already milling about in the spacious lobby playing the boards games that were set up while lounging in the cozy arm chairs. Everyone looked comfortable and was at ease due to the nature of the friendly desk assistants which set our weekend off on a great note! Our rooms were the bridal and groom suites and both were spacious and decorated in a way that felt a touch of home. Each room I was in felt unique and was decorated in a unique way which was a touch we really enjoyed, as did our guests! We had the pleasure of eating a meal prepared by the staff for our rehearsal dinner in the gorgeous 1812 room that looked out over Lake Winnipesaukee! All of our wedding party enjoyed the meal of lasagna, pasta in a cream sauce, fresh salad, as well as other dishes. There was something for everyone and it was all perfect! (I would know because I tried everything!) It was all finished with a perfectly sweet treat of fresh cannolis! We were able to enjoy breakfast from the Tavern, a gem in this inn. A large portion of our guests could not stop gushing over the fresh made breakfasts and the rustic elegance of Wolfe's Tavern, the eatery attached to the Inn! Of course the wedding day was a complete success as well. From the bridal suite, I watched Guen and her expert staff prepare the tables with my centerpieces, and other decor items I had brought. My card box was missing so Guen was a quick problem solver and found a perfectly wood stained apple crate to match my other decor. She wrapped it with twinkle lights and surprise, perfect card box (honestly better than the one I forgot!) Guen was such a rockstar for this entire weekend. Ryan and I never felt an ounce of stress due to Guen's ability to prepare for every single event. I swear she is the one who made the rain stop minutes before I walked down the aisle. She was prepared and knowledgeable about all things wedding ceremony, including pacing and who walked down first and on what side is the bride typically! She was prepared with reminders to keep hands out of pockets (looking at you gentlemen!) and sent one server specifically to the wedding party with hor dourves so we could partake in the eating during pictures still! She was instrumental in organizing all of my vendors and letting them know where to go and what they were able to do during the event! Our guests commented on how friendly her staff was from the front office to the bartenders and servers. We cannot thank them enough for the love they showed our puppy, Harley, as well. The front desk staff even offered to take him for a walk so no one from the wedding party would be bothered during the wedding! If that is not top notch service, I'm not sure what is! Our groomsman, Joe, had attended 11 previous weddings as a groomsman prior to our wedding and stated Guen and her team had put on the best wedding he had ever seen. He could not stop gushing about how well everything went thanks to her team. My maid of honor, Jess, who is an event planner herself down in Georgia, has also written a review of the inn because she was so impressed by the entire weekend. We actually almost booked the Wolfeboro Inn for our wedding for summer 2018. When we first toured it, we were told that there was just a minimum amount you had to spent on food based on the least expensive option with 120 people. This is the only minimum we were informed about after several communications with the staff at the inn. Lucy (who had given the tour) recently left her position, and Laura took over. Laura did not inform us of any other minimums with the exception of food (and only because we had brought it up) up until the day we were ready to sign the contract. We were then informed there was a minimum on specifically alcoholic beverages of $3,000.00 (before tax and service charges) and if we did not meet that minimum we would be charged for the remainder. This wouldn't have been a huge issue, but it was nowhere on the packet we were first given or mentioned prior to that day. When we talked to the manager about our concerns, she was unapologetic. The staff we encountered after Lucy left was in general disappointing. It often felt like we were inconveniencing them with asking basic questions via email about the venue, and at times it took over a week for a response. In conclusion, this venue took out the excitement of wedding planning for us and made us feel like an inconvenience. We ended up choosing a different waterfront property for summer 2018 with a very nice, accommodating staff! I wouldn't recommend working with Wolfeboro Inn, at least under this wedding planning staff. read more

To my request for cancellation of my October room reservations, I was given this statement by the General Manager of the Wolfeboro Inn: "These are extraordinary and unfortunate times. The delay in processing your refund and that of many others have been complicated by the magnitude of the numbers requiring refunds and the enormous dollar amounts needed to satisfy the obligations we are faced with. That being said, this is not a situation I want or wish we were all in. However, I must ask for your continued patience. As we slowly ramp up our operations, we can begin to put revenues toward keeping the hotel operational and meeting or obligations. While we fully intend to process your credits due, we have no defined time frame for when we will be able to return your deposit and for that I sincerely apologize. " I sympathize with the Wolfeboro Inns's dire financial situation, but I am a 75 year old widow with financial obligations on a fixed income. In posting this review, I am hoping to forewarn others of the Wolfeboro Inn's financial situation. read more

This is a lovely hotel and tavern! Great experience for dinner and breakfast!! The bathroom in our room was a little dated but it was extremely clean and the room was extremely clean!! The windows could even be opened which was great for sleeping! My hubby and I ate dinner in the tavern. It was delicious! We ordered the Calamari. It was so large and delicious we changed our minds for our entrees and ordered salads with chicken. We ordered the same salad and it was yummy. The chef came out and talked with us. If you see him, his name is Hoke. Even though we were full, we ordered desert. The chef came back again asking us about the desert. We told him we thought we were given a different one than we ordered but he said we didn't and said he'd be right back. He bought each of us a dessert back and,of course, it was free. Breakfast was yummy. We both had French toast. We ordered strawberry cheese stuffed and plain and asked them to split them for us which they did. We'd definitely go back! read more

Overall my stay at the Wolfeboro Inn was just okay. Some things that bothered me were: 1. The outside of the Inn was dirty. Lots of bug debris, I guess. Our balcony was constantly dripped on by the unit above. At night we discovered that all the mess on the side of the building was from spiders. The number of spiders crawling the walls and on our deck was like something out of a horror movie. 2. The towels that are supposed to be available in the shed by the beach were almost never restocked. We asked repeatedly for towels and they "promised" to bring some, but it just didn't get done. In the 5 days we were there I'd say 90% of the time there were no towels. Not such a great thing for a "beach resort" 3. There were also not enough seats at the beach for the number of people there, so a number of people didn't get to sit, and just left. 4. The people staffing the front desk were okay, but not really all that helpful, and even borderline rude. 5. An additional services fee was added to our account at the end for what we felt like we were paying for in the cost of the room. The room was clean, the beach was nice, and the Inn is conveniently located, but I feel like they are resting on their laurels at this point and charging a price that would imply better service. We didn't even bother having a meal at the Wolfe Tavern because it looked very dated, and we noticed, as we were passing through, that old food and dishes remained on tables for hours after diners had left. My advice would be to look around for other options first. I hope the owners of the Inn wake up and realize that people expect more for the price they are charging. read more

If there is one thing I can't stand it's hotels that try to be something they are not. The Wolfeboro Inn regard themselves as a 4 star hotel but they are more like a 3 or 2.5 star. It's the little things. We (me, my 2 year old and my parents) greeted by Ann who was on the phone the entire time as she checked us in, didn't make eye contact once, kept calling my father Cecilia and told us we were on our own with our luggage. Terrible. We had a suite and the sofa bed was so uncomfortable that I ended up sleeping on the floor. They did not have a fold away crib or pack and play for my son. Pros; the location is good, the towels were really soft, and the toiletries excellent. There is a little private beach but most of the time you're swimming around the paddle steamer boat. Breakfast was ok. Wifi is free when you can cut actually get reception which was not very often for me. read more

Was very happy with our stay at the Wolfeboro Inn. The room was nice, the bed was comfortable and the staff, especially Ann, was excellent. We enjoyed the fire pit one night along with some cheese and crackers and wine. You do have beach access, but the beach is small and there is a large ferry boat parked there later in the day which takes up a good portion of the swimming area. Over sold and under delivered! Bought the hotel from the website which over sells the facility and rooms and we even opted in bought the dinner supplement option. We were given a college atic dorm room with no elevator access. Stairs only!  Problem is spouse has a bad leg this should have been advertised in the room advertisement.  Floors slope 5-6 degrees in the room amplify the room should be re purposed for storage and not used as a guest room. Very disappointed, no one around to offer or take the luggage to the room nor did we know we would need help.  The general feel the property gives you is the ownership is harvesting margin and not investing in the facilities. Dinner service was good as was the onion soup but that's where it ended as entrees missed the mark and we did not want to re order.   Big mistake $289.00 times.  I just can't stress how disappointed I am in this experience. read more

My boyfriend and I went away for the weekend and this was my first time in Wolfeboro. I unfortunately have to give this place only 2 stars as the number one thing for me when it comes to a hotel is the comfort of a bed, and this was definitely the most uncomfortable hotel bed, or bed in general I have ever slept in. The room was clean and the staff were helpful and curteous. I would visit again, but only to go to the Wolfe Tavern for some cold beer. I am sure there might be rooms that have different beds, however this was not a comfortable place to sleep. The other odd thing about the room is that the bathroom was directly beside the bed, which meant whoever was sleeping on that side had the light in there face in the evening if the other had to use it. read more

I would never stay here again. They start playing this god-awful Muzak at 6:30am that reverberates into your room and is loud enough to wake you. Complaining had no effect. They have several private events at night, each with their own band or DJ and that go until midnight. Bring powerful earplugs if you want any chance of sleeping before then. WAY TOO EXPENSIVE. The tavern and the staff are very nice but the rooms are so overpriced and not at all luxurious for what they charge.

The only positive thing that came out of our experience with the Wolfeboro Inn is that they agreed to credit our card back if we didn't want to stay and WE DID NOT! We made this reservation for a two night stay originally and then decided to change it to one. When I phoned to make the change, I was very specific in asking if we would have the same room because originally I was told that the room that we would have would have a full lake view and balcony and was even a better view than a suite we originally considered. I was assured that the room would not change. Great, I thought. After arriving and happily before dragging our luggage up to the room, we went to check it out. Dark and dreary would be a good way to describe the room but when we went out on the balcony we were right on the road. Off to the left through the mature trees if the wind was blowing just right and you stood on your tip toes you could see a little glimmer of water. I was sure that there must be some mistake. The girl's name at the front desk was Sam, I suppose short for Samantha........at any rate, she kept assuring me that she had nothing else to offer and that they considered that room to be a full lake view room. Extremely deceptive to say the least especially because after looking at it most of the property overlooks their large parking lot and lots of trees. To call this property lake front at all is someone using quite an imagination. The views are probably ok from the roof. I believe that we made the decision to leave as much for this girls attitude as anything else. As much as she was saying something I suppose that she read from a script the attitude in which she said everything sounded more like tough shit, I'm not helping you and I don't care that we didn't at all deliver what was promised. I would highly recommend that anyone considering staying here, NOT. There is a sweet little place on the other side of town, RIGHT ON THE LAKE FOR HALF THE MONEY, called the Lake Motel or Lakefront Motel with the nicest people. We got lucky there but I will leave all of that for my 5 star yelp review. read more
