We wish we could have stayed longer! It's a beautiful hotel! No issues with making reservations online. We were warmly greeted at the front desk. Our room was beautiful, immaculately clean, had a lovely view of the lake and the bed was very comfortable. There is SO much to do onsite: Guiseppe's Ristorante had wonderful pizza and menu with live guitar music and later DJ/dancing, Waterfall Cafe for a great breakfast or lunch. The Cascade Spa onsite looks wonderful. Also other dining spots in walking distance at their sister sites: Lago, Lakeouse, Camp, etc... The Marketplace on site has lots of shops, bookstore, ice cream, coffee, and we were lucky enough to be there the weekend of a craft festival! There's so much to do in Meredith, a local winery, distillery, theater...they give you The Weekly Innsider when you check in, which lists all of the above and more to do which was a nice touch. The next time we will stay longer. It's a beautiful town as well. read more

First, the positive. We stayed at Bay Point and the view from the room and porch were wonderful. Here is the bad: When we arrived to check in (over 1/4 mile from our hotel/ Bay Point), we were told that "it looks like your room is ready, but we can't reach housekeeping to confirm. Give me your phone number and I will call you when I hear back". We checked after one hour and were told the same thing. When we approached a third time, the same person at the desk said: "I've been so busy, I didn't have time to call you". Many other people were arriving after 4PM and being told that their rooms were not ready yet. There is no staff on site at Bay Point to assist with any issues. The only permanent staff is over 1/4 mile away. We arrived at our room, and the refrigerator was not working properly and the safe was locked. We used the in-room phone to call three different departments that were direct-dial buttons on our phone. No answer. The front desk button was answered with "please hold", which I did for 10 minutes, finally hanging up. I dialed again and the same thing happened. This time I hung up after 5 minutes and then called the hotel using an outside line. That call was answered and within about 15 minutes, the maintenance person arrived. He was wonderful and very helpful. Other issues included that the latch to our hotel room door chain was missing, the battery in our keyless entry for the door died and we were locked out of our room at night, so we had to call the main building to get another service person to replace it (again, he was very nice). We paid $36 per day for a resort fee which really got you nothing other than use of the pool which again was over 1/4 mile away. There was a coffee machine in the lobby, but with no one on site to manage it, the coffee would be gone by 7:30 am. You had to call to get your room made up each day, but again there were issues with getting a phone call answered. We had to call housekeeping because the soap in the shower was empty. Again, the housekeeping person was very nice. Finally, if I had to do it all over again, I would stay at the main inn and never one of the three off-site locations. However, parking there is horrendous. We won't be back. read more

The hotel has a great location- especially for ice fishing or for the summer. There are many buildings that are part of the hotel, and you can use the pools at any of them. The market place is cute and it has a good Italian restaurant, a bakery and a candy store. The room was mostly clean, except there was a disgusting amount of hair in the shower. Total experience was okay, was there for a wedding. Thought the rooms might be a little bigger for the price. My main complaint is I left something in my room and I've tried for a day and a half to try to talk to a live person and haven't found a way to do that. Called the number on their website and it took me to advertising for a free medical device, then info on medicaid, medicare, didn't seem to be a connection to the hotel. Have sent an e-mail but have no hope of getting a response. Tried to get help from the reservation site but since I reserved through an alternate booking site they had no record of me after a 3 day stay. Really disappointing/frustrating customer service. The resort itself is divided by a very busy highway which I felt was a detriment to the relaxed feeling the resort desires. read more

Probably one of the worst websites I have ever encountered. It doesn't offer much information. And forget about pictures. They are all posed with models. My wife and grandchildren wanted to see pictures of the pool. HA. All you can find is a picture with a corner shown (leads me to believe the pool is tiny). Try calling them. What a joke! Some "AI Assistant" answers the phone and won't connect you to an actual person. Looking to book a family trip for my mothers 90th and a friend suggested here because of the different accomodations with a wide range of prices. Sometimes you need to call and speak to someone - especially when you are trying to book rooms for 57 people and have a bunch of questions. This was our first time visiting. We checked in late and we were greeted by a very friendly and personable front desk staff. The room was clean, smelled clean and was ready for us. We had a room with a fireplace and balcony view of the lake. The ground were kept clean, hotel was quiet and the staff was always friendly and smiling. We loved the pool which has two hot tubs right near it. Water temp was just right. Breakfast at the lakeside was excellent and also has a great staff. This was alast minutes decision but ended up as one of the nicer places we have stayed. We liked the little shopping area which has reasonably priced shops. One of the nicer aspects of the grounds was the boardwalk along the water. There are too many positive things to keep listing. Book a stay and see for yourself. I stayed 2 weeks ago and had plumbing issues. Was slightly inconvenienced, but the hotel opened another room for me to use the shower in the morning. And later the hotel reached out to me and give me a free night. Stay for future use because they felt badly for my poor experience. The customer service was very helpful and understanding. We stayed here during the first week of October. Our room was in a separate building a few minutes away from the main one. On the plus side, the location was convenient, right next to the marketplace with Giuseppe's. The room was fairly spacious, and the beds were comfortable. However, the room didn't justify the price; there was a persistent odor, and we noticed a cigarette smell when we first entered. The pool was uninviting, and the treadmills in the gym were out of order. Overall, our stay was unremarkable. read more

This hotel is part of a group of hotels in Meredith. The room was very spacious with a queen sized bed, a sofa bed in an alcove extension to the room, and two stuffed chairs. The room was comfortable and the hotel was quiet, maybe due to it being off-season. We had to check in at one of the other hotels but they are close together so it wasn't a big deal. The only complaint is the HVAC system was very loud when it was running inning which made it tough to sleep. The marketplace was connected to the hotel which makes shopping and dining easy. There was a view of the mill stream from the room window. read more

There are 4 separate hotel buildings. We stayed at the Palmer Inn for Laconia bike week. There is no staff at this building. The hotel is outdated and smells of must. There must have been a leak because the stairs going down to the shops at wet towels thrown all over the stairs for a couple of days! The air conditioner in room barely cools so for a hot weekend it made everything in the room feel damp and smelly! There's no outdoor pool only indoor. The main building where you check in down the street is Church Landing has the only outdoor pools if you want to to call them that! There's a family pool which is a lil bigger than a small hot tub and barely fits 4 people in the pool and the "adult" pool is hysterical and also small attached on the side of the building in the shade. The restaurant was nice although only had drinks there. Website says renovations coming late 2025 so maybe you'll have better luck! Unless they already did renovations then eeks read more

Really bad. Stayed at Chase House. Paying top dollar and getting really poor service. Tub plugged up. Had to turn shower off to let water drain every two minutes. Requested it to be fixed the day we arrived. Never happened. Requested room service two days straight in morning when we went out for the day and nothing was cleaned upon our return around 5 and 4 pm respectively. Only received a bag of towels and other related items. Would never recommend this property regardless of prime location. read more

Disappointed. At nearly $450 per night, I expected a lot more. The room was dated with wallpaper from my great-grandmothers house and the furniture was old. The room looked like it hadn't been touched since the '80s. The duvet cover had small stains on it. The desk and desk chair were old and wobbly - it was impossible to actually get work done at that desk. The bathroom was generally cean, but dated. There were small patches of paint peeling off the ceiling. The toilet seat had paint chipping off as well. Overall, this was not the experience I was expecting. Our room was on ground level and when we checked in, the window was closed but not locked. Instead of the typical hotel door security, our door had a chain lock. We also entered from a side door from the parking lot that was unlocked and proped open. Major security concerns. The next time I spend over $450 a night, I'll be staying at the Four Seasons, where I know things will be up to par. read more

The average rating for this resort is spot on, in my opinion. And after having read some of the reviews, I knew what I was getting myself into. Peak season in the lakes region, you were going to pay an arm and a leg regardless of where you go, so I was willing to sacrifice a quality hotel room experience for the surrounding amenities and prime lakeside experience. We arrived 20 minutes prior to check in time (4:00) after having a nightmare of a time just trying to get onto Daniel Webster HIghway due to the busyness of that thoroughfare and pipework on closed side roads. When we arrived, the front desk clerk indicated that our room was not yet ready yet, but that it would be shortly and to check back soon or they would call me when it was available. One of the best features of this establishment is the marketplace area for shopping and browsing, so we decided to take a look while we waited. We did that for about 20 minutes and came back. The room still wasn't ready. So we made some phone calls to family and even played some checkers in the waiting area. 20 more minutes went by and it still wasn't ready as it was waiting to be inspected by the supervisor. Another clerk preemptively indicated that they would reimburse us one night's resort fee for the delay---yay! Anytime I don't have to ask to be compensated for an error or inconvenience and they do it on their own, they're already one up in my book. When we got into our hotel room, I prepared myself for shock as some of the reviews on Yelp stated that the rooms were outdated. The first thing I noticed was that the AC was pumping, but that the air was muggy, even though the outside air was dry. Everything felt damp inside. I don't know what went wrong, but this was unappealing. I sat on the bed and looked around. Reviewers are right, there are stains on the carpet and it definitely needs a total overhaul in terms of updating, but the greater offense was the trash and food under the TV console. I called Guest Services who sent someone up about 20 minutes after the call and she was lovely. This worker promptly re-vacuumed and was very apologetic. She also recommended some nice places for dinner. We tipped her generously and went off to enjoy the rest of our vacation. Unfortunately, not only does Room 305 need updating, but the majority of the grounds, as well. You can see rotting wood on the exterior of the buildings, and some of the seating areas are not well maintained. However, the landscaping was one of the most attractive features. Inside the hallways, there's a musty smell and you can even smell hints of it having been smoked in from years ago. Our room was a double queen and was set back off the street in the main Mill Falls uildlig. However, if we were any closer to the street, it would have been very off-putting with the noises from Daniel Webster Highway--ie., the motorcycles. The coolest feature was all of the different areas of the compound that we had access too: from the marketplace to town docks to the spa at Cathedral Landing, it was an overall great experience mostly because we spent a lot of time NOT in our room. The Common Man group must be making a fortune, so hopefully they'll take some pride in updating this final building to round out the experience. Though I probably won't be able to afford it then! I would visit again for sure for all of the other attractive features, but if you do plan to stay at Mill Falls, I encourage you to choose rooms either at Bay Point or Cathedral Landing. This place is mid, if nobody here understands that term. Let's just say it was in between, pretty balanced. Lee is honestly the best. If you ever encounter Lee in the hotel please say hello to him because he's just awesome. Hopefully you check in/out with him. Also, our rooms were like filled with gnats. Literally, there were at least a dozen or two gnats in our hotel room and it had some sort of weird smell but after a couple minutes it's whatever and I didn't care. Also there was a wedding so there were people standing outside our hotel room by the balcony. You would think they would move, right? Wrong. Never ever book a reservation with this company. At any of their properties. They are thieves. I booked a reservation and have to cancel due to a medical condition and it's 9 days in advance of the reservation. They told me I had to cancel 14 days ahead which is ridiculous because it was originally 7 days in advance. On top of that, they are taking $438 deposit back and refunding me $30 and also cancelling the room which they will happily rebook. Why would any hotel brand rob a person of their hard earned money? It serves them no benefit especially that they have 9 days in advance notice. They don't have any empathy or even care that this is a decision I do not want to make but I have to make to take care of someone. Never ever book here. read more

If you're looking for a quiet reprieve at a lake from city life, do not go here. This hotel is smack dab in the center of the town of Meredith, so the road noise is consistently very loud all through the day and night. Second, the walls are paper thin so you can hear everything the people in adjacent rooms are saying (and especially doing....you don't even want to know). Our particular room was the king bed with lake view (really just a view of the busy road) and a balcony. What this really meant was that it permitted our loud neighbors to talk outside and smoke cigarettes on their balcony while the sound and smells drifted into our room. During our stay, we had no working AC unit so the room was extremely hot. The hotel provided us with a fan. What we later realized was that the AC unit did in fact work but it was just covered in black mold. Thankfully we never turned it on. Lastly, pretty much everything in this hotel is smelly or outdated, which we were initially willing to deal with for its "charm." I would probably never come back here unless held at gunpoint, and I suggest you find yourself a better establishment for your travels. read more

This hotel has terrible policies. Because to a serious illness, I cancelled my reservation 2 days prior to arrival. The hotel charged me for a full night's stay of approximately $310. I reached out to the hotel manager who stated this is corporate policy and she couldn't do anything for me. I emailed the corporate office (PPG Hotels and Resorts) which as of yet has not responded to the issue. Having traveled all over the world over the last 40 years, I have never experienced such a policy. I understand a minor charge but not a charge for a full night's stay. If you're considering a visit to any of this corporation's hotels or resorts, you better make sure you show up because they have no regard for your personal circumstances and don't care if you cancel 2 days before arrival. read more

But, when your at the lake in the summer on a beautiful day who needs the Ritz? The staff is a bit slow and soft spoken but nice. The bedding and bathrooms need an update soon! We got married at Church Landing at Mill Falls last September and have stayed at 3 of the 4 properties at Mill Falls. My husband and I absolutely love it, from the friendly staff, to the excellent dining options, to the incredible views from the rooms. My fairly finicky family traveled to our wedding from Philadelphia, and they want to go back to Mill Falls for a family reunion - citing the very comfortable beds and the relaxing atmosphere as why they want to go back. Particularly for our wedding, we worked with Carolyn and Rachel, who made the entire planning process go seamlessly, despite some crazy weather and last minute guest changes. Being a bit of a type 'A' planner, I never thought I would be able to relax through a 3-event wedding weekend, but they made it happen, even making sure that we stopped to take time to relax and enjoy ourselves during our cocktail hour. I can't thank the entire staff at Mill Falls enough for how welcome they've made us and our families feel, and for going above and beyond to make everyone have a great experience. read more

We have been staying at the Mill for over 10 years. We were willing to put up with a lot of things before since the prices were reasonable, but now the rates have gone way up and nothing has really changed (except flat screen TVs in the rooms). Issues we had this past trip: 1. Bathtub filled up with water when you showered (This has happened the last 4 times we have stayed.) 2. Shower curtain was stained with what looks like mold and caulking in shower was black. 3. Stains on the wall - one looked like blood 4. Stains on the bedding - also looked like blood 5. Ants - Only one this time but 4 times we have had a bunch of ants. (Was actually told it was our fault for leaving food out, even though the food was wrapped up.) 6. We stayed in the Bay Point building and found it to have rustic charm. You have to check-in at another building and then drive to Bay Point. The room was quiet, clean, and had a nice lake view. They give you free bottled water in the room and have coffee/tea, granola bars, and fruit in the lobby. However, there was no one at the front desk of the Bay Point building, which made it feel unsafe. They seemed to be pretty understaffed for both customer service and housekeeping. They came to clean our room at 5:30 pm after we had already returned for the evening. The housekeeper didn't speak English and waited at the door for us to leave the room. The selling point of this hotel was the adults-only hot tub area in the Boat House. The hot tub was lovely and the indoor-outdoor pool was heated so we could swim outside in February. We would stay again just for the hot tub and pool. read more

We have been coming here for nearly 20 years. It was a prime resort up until 7 or so years ago and then rapidly declined. Our last stay in July 2021 was awful. The place isn't just run down, it's filthy. Moldy rooms, carpets and yes walls. Grime, dirt and cobwebs. No staff to be found. The pool should have been condemned. Literally the light and cord inside the pool was dangling into the pool. The prices are comically large for a roach motel. The kicker, when we left and settled the bill, the young kid who had absolutely no desire to be there checking us out tacks on $30 per night for parking, use of WiFi and the pool. WiFi didn't work, pool was condemned. And who charges for that? That should be included in the $300 a night cost. Surprised they didn't charge for linens and towels! I refused to pay it and all he could do was take off one of the $30 fees. Oh, and no breakfast is included. I'm not talking basic continental.. nothing. Not even an apple. And it's not Covid related, they are just cheap and don't care. The prices went up, the benefits are completely gone and no one seems to care. It's an absolute shame. I've stayed here 30 times easily. Never again. Holiday Inn or Hampton in are 10x better. read more

My brother went there for his 25 th wedding anniversary this past weekend. I called the restaurant sunday and ordered a cheese board and bottle of prosecco. The female who took my order in the restaurant during there busy brunch time could not have been more pleasant and helpful. She went out of her way to explain things and assist me. The items where delivered to my brothers room as planned and they where happy and surprised. Thank you to the wonderful young lady who assisted me. I appreciate your kindness. Through a sweet deal on Travel Zoo my bf and I were able to book a room for a little weekend getaway at Mills Falls. The Falls is actually a cluster of little shops and three hotels (more like large B&Bs) that are all within walking distance of each other (Church Landing being the furthest away). We stayed in The Inn (there is also Chase House across the road). Our room was cozy and comfortable. It was a nice size for a couple traveling without kids. The bed was comfortable and everything was very clean. The staff was extremely friendly. They even sent up toothpaste when we called down at 11pm realizing we'd forgotten to pack it. We arrived a little late to the Inn and they called to make sure we were on our way and we still wanted to keep our room. Very considerate. I've heard of places that will simply give your room away if you are running late. The Inn, as I mentioned, is connected to some little shops and couple restaurants. It's really a small village. The shops are cute. Nothing extraordinary but good for some souvenirs. There's is a waterfall running down the side of the Inn which is a great little photo background. We were surprised how relaxed we felt the entire time, perhaps because we were finally outside the city and what doesn't seem calm compared to Manhattan? But it could be the atmosphere at Mills Falls also. It was sweet, quiet, and calm. Exactly what we wanted for our weekend away. We also used the pool which is on the small size but heated and very clean. Same for the hot tub. The real star is, of course, Lake Winnipasaukee which is right across the street from the Inn. It's gorgeous and surrounded by trees. We were commenting the entire time that we'd love to come back in the summer to boat and lay on the beach. We were also told that there is a working drive-in movie theater down by Weirs beach! This is a great weekend getaway for couples and families alike. Not the same place since the new owners. When you call to make a reservation nobody knows what the the minimum stays are. After 45 minutes on phone... come to find out there is a 4 night minimum over the weekend (the reservation specialist had no idea)... And now recently they make you pre-pay the whole amount of stay and if you cancel at anytime you will loose the whole amount ....which seems outrageous to me! We have been coming to the Church Landing for years and don't believe we will be back. Corporate needs to get it together so their staff knows what is going on... the grounds were not as kept up, they stopped including small breakfast items (which was a nice touch), they closed the rooftop bar and everything seems very disorganized!!! read more

Falls pretty cleanly under the category of you-get-what-you-pay-for. They do not charge 4 star hotel prices. We stayed at the check-in location for all three properties - Mill Falls at the Lake. This place is in serious need of an upgrade. Unfair to call it a dump perhaps, but in a few years it will be if they don't start replacing carpeting, furnishings, do some painting, etc. The staff was friendly, but there was an air of indifference. The room we were given was on an odd level, in that there was no way to use an elevator to get the luggage cart to the room door - had to haul it all up half a flight of steps (there's no help). Even better, when we checked out, the elevator was broken, so we had to haul everything down a large flight of steps to load the car. Also, you get crap for directions - looped around several times before finding the driveway up to the main lobby. No signage on the street corner - you have to actually already be driving up the driveway before you see a sign. Very frustrating. Overall, it was reasonably clean and quiet, but it's really a last-resort place to stay. Ugly place, ugly room, ugly pool. Great location. Generally friendly staff but aside from check-in and check-out, zero staff assistance with anything else. Just a notch up from a cheap motel. read more

How this place has three and a half stars is baffling! Oh and try calling them to get a human on the phone... you will easily wait 15 min for useless service. Another big perk is that you don't have to go outside to get to some of the shops and pizza restaurant. The Inns at Mill Falls is part of an entire hotel, shopping, restaurant and event area right on the lake in Meredith. Mill Falls is a fantastic hotel. The service was outstanding. I docked a star for bad bathrooms. The Holiday Inn has a better shower head. And the towels could use an upgrade as well. The Inn has a number of packages which are a reasonable savings as well. There is also a spa which we didn't have a chance to check out this time. If you are looking for a semi-local weekend getaway, even the winter, this is a great spot. read more
