Came here to sit at the bar with my wife and had no idea it was just a soft opening. Usually this means not great service or food while they with out the kinks. That could be the furthest from our experience. This is a great and much needed new spot in South Lake Tahoe that has great ambiance! The food was great, the drinks were fantastic, and our server spectacular. Good food and drinks are important but for me the server puts it over the top and that is what Haley our server did. Let me start by saying, the food and wine were delicious! We were a large group celebrating a birthday, and were seated outdoors in two separate sections at fireplaces that should never have been used to serve dinner. There was no lighting once it grew dark, and we ended up eating with the use of our phone flashlights, and dishes on our laps. It was very uncomfortable, and in fact quite miserable. The reservation should never have been taken if this restaurant couldn't accommodate us in a decent manner. I very nicely told one of the managers, and he thanked me, but didn't apologize. I love Vanderpump Rules, I visited Sur, Pump and TomTom and while I was in Tahoe this was the number one spot I wanted to visit. Now I feel like it is a little pricey, but I can see why. The inside has beautiful decor, we only had drinks, my boyfriend and I both enjoyed our drinks. Very beautiful and delicious, servers and hostess were wonderful, great ambience in here. Only thing that was hard for us is no kids allowed after 8pm, only 21 and over which made it hard for us to go again, but that was fine. We went Friday night and there was probably a 20 minute wait, not to bad, then Saturday night 20-30 minute wait which was still ok, we were glad to wait just taking pictures in line and I believe at 8pm the started blasting music which for me, I loved. This exquisite, thoughtfully designed space is a fantastic addition to the Tahoe area. I guess the Vanderpumps are known for their cocktails (nothing to do with tv drama, right?) - the drinks here make it easy to see why. Really creative combinations, pretty garnishes. It's a fantasia, really. A feather in Caesars cap (it's in Harvey's Casino). Lighting is to die for; seating and layout are unique and clever. You have to come see for yourself: there are way too many cool things to name and no amount of photos will ever do it justice. Apparently it's named not after local beasties - we don't have wolves here, ofc - but after the Vanderpump grandchild, whose middle name is Wolf. I had the famous Goat Cheese Balls, yum, but my favorite are the Lump Crab & Corn Hush Puppies. Delicious! Such a great sauce; appreciable amount of crab in each bite. The bread they bring is both pretty and tasty. The Waygu Steak was tender; I really liked that it had two kinds of sauce to drag that juicy cut through. One tablemate had the salmon, which was cooked perfectly and well-sauced. Another had the bangers & mash, which I tasted and found very good. I can't wait to try the rest of the menu over time. And the drinks!! Omg. The Black Bear and Giggy Tonic (so refreshing) are my faves so far; my tablemates like the Big Bad Wolf and the Vanderpump Mules. Lots of tongue-in-cheek food and drink names. Our server, Hilary, was excellent. Observant and attentive. A couple things I was surprised and pleased to see: it's a family restaurant! If I could give this place a negative stars I would. I requested a reservation via email. I received a confirmation text via OpenTable. We arrived at the restaurant and had to wait approximately 40 minutes for a table. We were told that we requested a patio reservation. When I looked back at the reservation request know where did it state that we requested a patio reservation. We requested to speak to a manager, and he stated that he spoke to someone on the phone and told them that patio was all we had. I stated that they may have spoken to our salon manager who had requested the reservation, but when I looked back at the reservation request, my phone number was listed on all of the documentation. I never spoke to anybody nor did I receive a phone call. We reluctantly accepted the patio dining. The patio dining has no table only a fire pit, and our party of eight was placed in an area where someone from our party had to get up from her seat every single time a waitress or waiter wanted to pass by. So she was resorted to sitting on the corner table. This was an awful experience and extremely low class for high end this restaurant claims to be. We will not be back. read more

I would like to preface this review that as an avid Lisa Vanderpump fan, even a negative experience won't stop me from returning. I do, however, hope that management takes this feedback to heart. Given that the overall rating is only 3.9, I do not think my negative experience was a unique experience. First and foremost the food was amazing. We ordered the bread, ahi tostadas, shrimp tacos, shrimp pasta, filet, and the salmon. The flavors were fantastic and we had no complaints on food. We did also order the goat cheese balls, which are definitely an acquired taste so to each their own. Service was my main complaint. This was now my second dining experience here and I had attributed my rough service the first time to the newness of the restaurant. I do not think I can make the same excuse this time. We recently dined at Pinky's in Las Vegas and our service was immaculate. Our server did not Introduce themselves, there was no over view of the menu no recommendations, really there was nothing at all other then "how are you doing are you ready to order" Our first round of drinks took quite some time to come out, to the point where I watched other tables seated after us receiving not just drinks but their appetizers as well. When we got our drinks we were all thrilled by them but that did not save the experience. Our appetizers arrived and our dirty plates were left to be pilled up along with our drink glasses. We had to try relatively hard to catch our servers glance to order wine with our entrees which took so long to arrive we had finished our entrees before the wine arrived. Call me crazy, but I think ordering Sancerre with Salmon should mean I'm having them together. For the level of bill this experience was, the service in no way, shape or form, matched. We very much felt rushed at the end as well with the check arriving faster than anything that was ordered. With the Brand Lisa Vanderpump is, I do not think it's out of the realm of possibility to expect consistency within the brand across Venues but unfortunately this service was borderline a 0/5 stars. Truly the food and drinks are the only reason I am giving 2 starts. I will gladly be back but with the extremely low expectation of dirty dishes, slow service, and needing to order multiple rounds of drinks at once. read more

Having enjoyed dinner & cocktails at the two other Vanderpump restaurants in Las Vegas often, I had high expectations for this restaurant & was super excited to have one near home. I had reached out prior to making reservations to see if they had plant based/vegan friendly dishes like the other establishments do and was told yes. Was very disappointed when the server just offered salad as that option. The venue itself is stunning and the hostess at the front was very sweet and professional. We were seated near a fireplace facing state line and the sun glared blindingly in until around 7 pm. The decor is as fabulous as one would expect from LVP and everything sparkles and shines. Our first server was very lackluster is personality and never once told us that he wasn't our real server; he was just covering for someone's break. He never gave his name. Our actual server was very nice and made suggestions he thought would work for us, but still lacked the perfection of other Vanderpump establishments. Our group ordered several cocktails and a number of dishes to try. The favorite dish was a spicy pasta with shrimp (for our non-vegan friends). The caviar, while tasty was presented in an odd plating, but enjoyed. I understand this is newly opened and has many bumps to smooth out, so we will try again in hopes of better service and a more inclusive menu for all to enjoy. read more

Okay, this is a tough write-up because the place did so many things right that it is hard only to give it three stars, but Wolf has the makings for it to be five stars. My wife is very interested in the show and wants to visit the new location. Unfortunatley, we had also dined at Hell's Kitchen earlier, so the bar was set pretty high. Let's get it staring out of the gate; the ambiance is second to none. The restaurant is gorgeous. It is a feast for the eyes alone, which is where the disappointment sets in. My wife and I are both veterans of the industry, though currently, neither of us is working in it directly anymore. We still have attachments to it, so I know what I am talking about. If I could have one minor complaint, the menus do not need to be the size to where a small child could take them sledding on one of the nearby slopes; it is a good thing it was off-season. Service directly was amazing. Our server, Anya, was really one of the best servers I ever had; coming from the industry, I could easily identify this server knew her stuff. I will give you an example: she had multiple tables, one of which was a large part of at least 10 people. Despite this, I never felt like she was inattentive, and I could tell that the large table was well taken care of as they were seated directly across from me. The support staff is where service fails. I have scant knowledge of Lisa Vanderpump myself; I have only watched bits of the show in passing as my wife watches. So, I put myself in Lisa's shoes: What if she were me, unknown to the staff? I wan't going to make a big deal, but high end restaurants deserve high end scrutiny, there was a french-fry on the floor next to my chair as I sat. No, I am not that guy who cares, but I have a feeling that if Lisa saw that, she would not be happy. Even delivering a cocktail without a straw. Also, and this is an age thing, younger folks take time to get up to speed and become cognizant of what is going on around them. The busser and food runner failed to move or work with any alacrity, you know, full hands out, full hands in, pre-busing. When our first dish arrived, the food runner awkwardly presented the smoked wings around Anya while I was trying to talk to her. I don't know exactly how to put it, but the flair was lost. Let's get to the food. First, the non-alcoholic drink Emerald Bay may have been one of my favorites. Next up was the awkwardly delivered smoked wings. My first one was delicious, and the second one, as the room was dimly lit, was hard as a rock; I mean, nearing chipped tooth territory-burnt. My wife was not impressed with the paper delivered sconce it was in either, it lacked elegance. So, as a first impression of the food, the wings failed. I am not overfond of cheese, and most of the appetizers were of that nature, the menu in that area seemed to lack savory items, not enough proteins for my tastes, but perhaps that is just me. We both got the Steak with bordelaise sauce. This was cooked perfectly. There is nothing worse than getting a poorly cooked-steak. The sauce was impeccable. The bacon-wrapped asparagus was on point; I could have used more. The frits--let's say I am old-fashioned. I prefer my fries without the crispy coating a lot of restaurants use. They tasted great, but I am not a fan of that type, that is all. Desert; in another life, I was actually a pastry chef, classically trained and yelled at by a German baker in my youth. To say the pinecone dessert was a work of art, to do it a disservice, though we had to wait a bit for it. It looked like magic. Brilliant concept for a snow city resort. My only nick on it was the ganache, which was a tad on the rich side. If that could be toned down, it would be perfect. Troy, the sommelier, and Jason, the manager, were fantastic. They fixed all the minor oversights above, something as simple as getting me a straw for the drink runner who forgot to give me one with my drink. Like I said, it pains me to give a low rating. This is a new establishment, and it is still finding its way to get its legs under it. I recommend Wolf; it just stumbled a bit out of the gate, first impressions and all. Had it not been for the excellent staff, the ones we directly interacted with, the score may have been lower. So the potential is there, but unfortunately, Gordon next door won the day. I hope to return, as I only live about an hour and a half away, to see if things improve. It is still a worthwhile dining experience, and remember, it is brand new and against tough competition. From what I gather of Lisa, she hires the best, and Wolf will step up its game in the coming months. read more

We have been waiting to come here, since hearing that Lisa Vanderpump was opening a restaurant in Tahoe. We made a reservation in advance to make sure we would get in. We knew that it would be busy and it was. There was a line to get in. The restaurant opened a few minutes after its opening time of 4:00. We ordered drinks,appetizers, and entrees. The food came out super quick. The bread was okay. The goat cheese balls were good. It did seem like both items were frozen and the heated up, like many have mentioned. Our waitress was amazing. She suggested some great drinks and was very pleasant. She checked on us throughout our meal. The burger and fries were really good. Typical good burger and fries. This is definitely a place you go to have drinks. It's all about the drinks here. The food is average, but good. The decor and service was great. We were celebrating my birthday. They gave me 3 jam filled cookies for dessert. We really enjoyed those. I was going to order another dessert, but the waitress said that the best thing was the cookies. We kept to that. It has one of the nicest interior design of any restaurant I've been to (and even nicer than the restoration hardware restaurant in Yountville). Service has always been friendly, and for food, I highly recommend their starters and the wagyu ragu. The drinks are a bit pricey but also phenomenal. Updating my review - it was earned. I ended up going back because its where my best friend wanted to have her wedding reception/dinner there. There was a miscommunication about being able to accommodate the size of our party - i spoke to two different managers one shrugged and said putting two tables together is the best we can do, and hope thats ok. The second however shook my hand and introduced himself (jason i believe ?) and he was fantastic. Perfect customer service. Explained the miscommunication. Apologized, and did what was in his capacity to make it right with us. Perfect leadership. The menu has changed since they first opened - amazing options - I got the 6oz filet and it was melt in your mouth tender - perfectly cooked - everything on the plate was delicious. We also had smoked wings (very good and cool presentation) quite a few people got the prime rib ? Sliders and enjoyed them. If you go to this place you must order an appetizer, signature cocktails, entre and dessert so you can really appreciate the full array of flavors and techniques, my humble opinion. We started with a whiskey drink and a Vanderpump froze drink. The whiskey drink came in one of those glass cases with smoke, pretty cool. The drinks were strong and delicious. We then ordered the goat cheese balls- those came with a sour and salty slaw and the goat cheese with herbs was in a crispy breadcrumb situation- they serve them in a bed of honey, oh my word! So freaking good. We then got our main dishes, a filet mignon and the NY strip- they were cooked and seasoned PERFECTLY! Went twice to Wolf while in Tahoe, something we rarely do while traveling but the experience was that good I went back a second time. From the moment we walked in we were treated like welcomed guests. The women at the front desk were so engaging and welcoming, especially Gulmar. A few nights earlier we had a great meal with bad service at Bruschetta, it wasn't servers fault, and maybe someone called in sick but they were horribly understaffed. Wolf's service was perfection from the moment we were seated. Camila was delightful. She seemed to have an intuitive sense of what we might need and there it was. We started with caviar and champagne, the caviar was good, but the chips were too thick, completely overshadowed the caviar. The star of the meal was the hamburger. It was fantastic, maybe one of the best hamburgers I have ever had. It comes with fries and Camila suggested we upgrade to their truffle fries, wow, it was really worth it! I will say, when we came back the next night our server was good, but not in Camila's league. We ordered the hamburger again and forgot to upgrade to the truffle fries and we were disappointed. Went to Wolf over the weekend with a group of 9 women for dinner. It is beautiful inside no doubt, but the food, drinks...everything, were soo expensive. I don't mind paying premium for premium food, but their recommended sea bass fish really left me wanting more. Not only was the portion small, it didn't have any salt and not enough sauce/citrus. I just felt like it needed more flavor. It was cooked perfectly though so I'm grateful for that. I ordered the Ginny gin drink which was huge, and strong, so that was worth it. We also tried the ahi appetizer, bread, and I had a few bites of the others pasta dishes. Those were much bigger in size, and were more flavorful, but still lacked salt to me. The service was relatively good, however our waiter made a very snarky "good luck" comment in a tone to our bachelorette regarding her upcoming wedding. This is such a unique restaurant. The decor is incredible and really unique, and the attention to detail is apparent. This is a super cool place to eat or just get drinks, it has the theming and vibe of a Las Vegas type restaurant where the atmosphere is half of the draw. However, the food speaks for itself as well. We tried the fried goat cheese balls, and they were amazing, I am still thinking about them. We also had the peach and cherry cobbler for dessert, which was yummy, but the cherries in it added a tartness that seemed a bit disjointed on my palate. Finally, the drink menu was delicious, with lots of unique signature cocktails with interesting twists. I had the Pumptini which was deliciously light and sweet, very grapefruit forward which I loved. My husband had the Slippery Slope, which is an almond joy martini. It was heavy, but sweet and delicious. I wanted to try the Vanderpump Frose, but they were sold out by the time we went, so clearly that is a popular drink choice. As a LVP and Bravo fan I am so excited to have finally visited a LVP restaurant and I was not disappointed. She curates the most wonderful dining experience at Wolf with attention to every detail - from the beyond beautiful decor, to the amazing menu, to the top notch service! We had a reservation (highly recommended) and were seated near the bar where we watched one beautiful drink (literally beautiful - and many have gold flake accents) after another be served. Our server was very sociable and gave us great tips on the menu. We had the caviar and potato chips and goat cheese balls (you just have to try them) for appetizers - and my husband had the Ibeiro Pork Chops (which he said was the best pork he's ever had), and I had Lisa's Lobster Salad. I wouldn't say my husband is picky, but he's very rarely swept off his feet with food dishes. Especially because this place had all the other things going for it, so we didn't expect much from the food. He ordered the smash burger which he said was rich, and so delish. I had the bangers and mash which was fantastic as well. We ordered the bread for starter. It was pretty good too. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The butter they served was average, but I wouldn't ding this place over butter. Finally, our drinks. I had the frose and he had some drink with rosemary in it. The drinks were strong, in a good way.
