Got here about 1.5 hours before closing and was seated right away on a Saturday night. Food and drinks were good. Service was good. The building AC was blowing so it was a little chilly inside.

A cute gem in the heart of downtown. I love sushi so of course this was an easy stop to make. Sushi rolls were delicious and drinks were very good as well. Service was excellent. Very friendly staff and fast service. The ambiance is a little dim, but a vibe. I absolutely loved coming here and would come again!

Have to say that this place was great with service, timing and quality. We found it while walking around downtown and decided to pop in. The interior was divided into the front waiting space and the back bar and dining area. I really liked the dark color scheme and the vibe. The employee at the front was courteous and immediately took our order. We barely had to wait before it was ready. The food itself was amazing! The dishes were hot and fresh and were well packed. We ordered the fried rice, noodles and my favorite-the honey walnut shrimp. The portions were large and the food was flavorful and delicious. The shrimp was the perfect mix of sweet and savory with the texture of the walnuts complementing the softness of the shrimp. We went there a few times due to how good everything was!

Short ribs that are mostly just bone and fat scraps

Tonight I ordered takeout from Wokcano DTLA. When I arrived to pick up my order, around 10:30pm, the doors were locked. This was surprising considering I needed to pick up my order and the listed hours of operation end at 11pm. The host signaled that he would not let me in and they were closed until I managed to communicate that I was merely there to pick up my order. He seemed annoyed that I was there despite the fact that the order was right next to him waiting to be picked up. The food itself was really dreadful. I got two dishes, the short ribs and the black pepper beef. The short ribs, an item I reliably enjoy from this location, were shriveled and mostly fat as if the entire order had been filled with the day's scraps. The black pepper beef was so slick and oily that it was basically inedible. Overall, it was hardly worth the $60+ I paid. Frankly, it was bad enough to make me feel like I can never order from here again and should instead go to Northern Cafe down the street. This used to be a reliable if overpriced late takeout option in DTLA but their standard is completely gone.

We enjoyed our time at Wokcano & our food! Everything was so hot, fresh and delicious! I didn't get a photo of the wings we had but those were piping hot and really good too. Our server was very nice & checked in with us often. I love the place & how it's dimly lit, great for date night. I will definitely be back.

I came for sushi and ended up loving the Chinese food! Honestly one of the most authentic Chinese comfort foods I have had in a long time! Who knew? Kudos!!! Open late! I did not have any adverse MSG reactions! The Chinese dishes had authentic flavors and high quality ingredients! For $5 you can add a salad, soup and rice! Lively and happy vibes! I am a fan!

I came here last night to have dinner with some friends! The food was amazing! The waiter was super cool! His name was Robert! Perfect attention to detail! Very attentive and very knowledgeable on the menu. He suggested the right food and drinks to get for me and my friends! Thank you again Robert and thank you again Wakcano

Came to Wokcano on a weekday as my wife and I were about to spend a week apart so we figured we would get some dinner together beforehand. We walked to Wokcano after struggling what to pick and were pleasently surprised that we were just in time for another happy hour deal that we've been encountering downtown lately. When we walked in we were seated right away and the server said we could order a few minutes before the time happy hour started, which is always kindly appreciated. The happy hour menu wasn't huge, but did have a good mixture on it. We decided to order a few different things such as the crispy garlic chicken wings, the spicy crabmeat tempura roll, and we split another roll that I honestly don't recall because she ordered it and I just ate half of it, oh well, it happens. The crispy garlic chicken wings were fine, pretty standard basic wings with sauce on them, not bad, but also not super great. The Spicy crabmeat tempura roll was pretty good, being a standard roll but having good taste to it, and the same can be said for the other roll I can't remember, good flavour, fresh fish, and a good roll overall. Overall, Wokcano was a 50/50 experience that I'll definitely be revisiting in the future thanks to its location. The sushi was solid enough, while the chicken was average. The staff here was fantastic and the restaurant itself looked very modern and clean with lots of seating. If you want a mixed variety place, Wokcano probably has something you want, I suggest coming to check this place out for yourself.

This is the place to be in LA!! It's right in the heart of the city. It's close to in walking distance of rooftop bars, mall, city life, crypto.com arena and LA Live. This place has amazing Chinese cuisine, along with their amazing drinks. If you are in to shareable foods, the portions will do just fine. The service was very helpful and took care of me and my friends every need on my birthday. Can't wait to go back.

5* Ambiance 5* Service…read more5* Coctails Level 8 really has done a fantastic job creating a jazz/entertainment bar with great service, drinks, and unpretentious service. The guests, come and go and at each moment, in any corner, be ready to be surprised and entertained by a live DJ, acrobat, burlesque performer, pianist and singer. What a show! Veronica at the bar was fantastic and made us drinks just to our order. Supper knowledgable, helpful and kind. Definitely, this place is a great hangout after a meal... be prepared to be be dazzled and entertained.

Gonna try to paint the picture in as few words as possible. Sorry for the long narrative:…read more 1) I planned out a special night for my wife throughout all of Level 8 2) Had reservations set at Lucky Mizu for Dinner to Mr. Wanderlust for Cocktails and Entertainment and then to Sinners and Santos for Drinking and Dancing for Latin Night 3) Showed up for our 6:45 PM reservation at Lucky Mizu but was turned away 3 times stating they didn't have seats available. After being seated 40 minutes later, service took 20 minutes to take our order, and another 30 minutes to be served. Food was 'okay', there was no entertainment, and multiple customers were unhappy with similar slow service... but some of them were comped parts of their meals.. we didn't even get a sorry until we spoke to the manager on our way out, expressing the reason was they had no idea it would be this busy on a Thursday (they take reservations, so...), and also blamed an 'all you can eat promotion' they promoted earlier, and they only had two serves on staff that night. 4) We were late to Mr. Wanderlust, but were luck to get two seats at the bar after another couple left. We order two cocktails and a coffee... and were charged just over $140. Then, we were asked to move because they wanted to take our seats. We asked about the bill to the bartendar, and she expressed that since she didn't take our original order, she couldn't help us. She simply just had us stand there. We were not going to pay since it seemed way off... until finally we spoke to a guy walking by. We showed him our ticket/receipt and said out loud, "this isn't right". He came back quickly with a revised bill of almost $120. This was still far too high, but no one else seemed interested in helping us find resolve, so we ate it since we didn't want to be late for part 3 of the night. 5) Hoping to salvage the night with drinks and dancing... we tried to find the entrance to Sinners and Santos for their advertised Latin night. We had made reservations here too, and had full confirmation of the reservation... BUT, after finally being directed to the entrance (outside on the patio), they were closed. No sign of why and no one who worked at the other locations had a reason, but they were just simply closed. 6) So, after paying $35 for parking, about $140 in cocktails and food while waiting for our initial reservation at Golden Hour and Que Barbaro, $150+ for dinner at Lucky Mizu, and $120 at Mr. Wanderlust... approximately $500 total... we didn't even get to dance. Maybe this place had a bad night, but based on what the workers said, and how they treated us... it sure seems like the norm. Don't get me wrong, the place is cool... some really great experiential elements and nice photo ops... but I would have had a much better time somewhere else. Super disappointed in this place.

From fun nights out, special occasions, whiskey tastings, exploring the speakeasy... playing some pool, enjoying libations, taking in live music, perfect outings on the patio, the occasional cigar. So many great memories and experiences created here including some awesome date days with my other half. If stopping in for the first time you'll discover S.G. on 7th and Grand Avenue with a door person usually always at the bottom of the staircase just outside of the restaurant/cocktail bar Zaya (which has been many incarnations including Bar CDMX, V and Mas Malo). Provide them with a valid ID, as anybody over 21 should have a valid form of identification on them at all times, not just for driving or access to 21+ events or establishments, but for safety. NOVEMBER 26.2025…read more I've been through many iterations of The Library Bar over the years... from small and cozy secret bar for those that work in the looming skyscrapers of Downtown LA to being some noisy urban hip hop affair that served godawful drinks (see my past review!), and on back to being a calm and casual neighborhood bar again. The interior never changes... dark... illuminated by candlelight... the bust of Shakespeare over the fireplace, the shelves of old books-- all of it remains intact. But this latest Library Bar seems to have finally dialed in what was always sorely missing in that it showcases a conscientious staff that all seem to know how to mix drinks while treating the customer well by leaving them be. On one night my date and I share a "Black Manhattan," basically a Manhattan with the generous addition of Averna, and it's terrific. On another night, I go for Happy Hour and a few pints of Guinness on draft that are surprisingly proper and go well with their excellent and, I'm told, homemade Hummus & Veggies Plate. The music at this current Library Bar is pretty much on point and is never so loud as to interfere with the conversations that patrons seem to come here for... something you should come here for too, and maybe at Happy Hour specifically if you're looking for a nice bump in your day and to spend an hour, well, happily.
