    C4 and Appetizer Delight #2
    Kytn E.

We always order the same thing. He orders the Appetizer Delight #2 and I order the C4 and we share the fried rice from my meal. There definitely huge portions and you easily get your money's worth because you can get 2 meals out of both dinners

This is what we felt should happen with our entire order.

terrible. the food was greasy, cold and inedible. Waited over an hour for our delivery. Had to throw it away.

Dinner combination C22. Sesame Chicken, Chicken Fingers, Crab Rangoon (Substituted chicken fingers for boneless spareribs)

Service was great, kind and helpful. Food was not. It's just a pick up spot, the tables are just for waiting, no ambiance.

Rice was dry. There was two pieces of chicken in a large chicken lo mein my beef teriyaki stick was so dry and the boneless barbecue pork was fatty. My chicken fingers were soggy. My daughter's General's chicken was soggy and mushy. It was absolutely the worst food I've ever received.

Ive tried at least 4 other places in Kennebunk and Biddeford and have throw out over 1/2 my orders. Who the hell puts frozen peas and carrots in Egg Drop soup?? Awful stuff. But sad to say about Evergreen, their pricing is way too high now. I was there early this week and $35.00 for dumplings, egg drop soup and beef with broccoli. 6 dumplings @ $11.00; that's $1.83 each for a wonton wrapper with maybe an ounce of pork w/ some ginger, scallions and garlic in it. Plus the souffle cup of sauce isn't even half full and you run out before you finish all dumplings. Egg drop soup, $8.00 for chicken stock, corn starch and an egg or 2. Then $13.25 for Beef w/ Broccoli, mostly broccoli. I realize prices are higher and they need to make a profit. Their service is good; there is no ambiance as it's 90% or more take-out. QI've worked in the food industry for years, I know the cost of a dumpling, probably less than $.50 and egg drop soup costs less than $2.00 inclusive of container. Even though their food is good and they are very nice, it's going to be a while before I go back.

It may not be tucked away in a traditional Chinatown, but the food absolutely delivers. The restaurant was very clean, and the service was fantastic from the moment I walked in. I tried the Peking duck bao, crystal shrimp dumplings, hot and sour soup, beef chow foon, and everything was delicious. The bao was soft and pillowy with flavorful duck inside, and the crystal shrimp dumplings were delicate, fresh, and packed with flavor. I love finding places that serve authentic Asian cuisine, and Empire Chinese Kitchen was a great find. There's street parking available nearby, and whether you're already a dim sum fan or looking to try something different while in Portland, I'd definitely recommend stopping in. Authentic, yummy, friendly service, and a place I'll gladly visit again!

The restaurant is small, relatively quiet and decorated nicely. The service was very friendly. The menu seems to be very focused, showcasing a handful of shareable plates, vegetarian items, rice/noodle dishes and entrees with authentic Szechuan flavors. Boyfriend got spicy noodles and I got braised beef noodles. We also got a side of their homemade chili oil, and in response to this the server asked us if we wanted our meals to be extra spicy. How could we turn that offer down? As soon as that bowl of noodle soup came out, I knew I was in for a great meal. It smelled intoxicating. It was the angriest shade of red possible, which is exactly what I like to see when I'm eating something supremely spicy. The broth and chili oil were both full of flavor, the beef was tender and the noodles had a delightfully chewy texture. Taking everything into account, Sichuan Kitchen served me one of the most memorable dishes I've ever had. There's really no other way to put it. If you're in the area and you find yourself craving the authentic numbing spicy flavors of Szechuan Chinese food, Sichuan Kitchen is the answer.

The interior is pleasant with decorative paper lanterns on the ceiling giving the impression of "pillowy clouds". My two sons enjoyed the Zhong Dumplings (delicious mix of sweet and savory), which was the highlight of the meal. We also had 2 orders of the soup noodles with minced pork and 1 order of the braised beef noodles. A dish we shared was the fried green beans (which was very tasty). However, the soup dishes were slightly too salty. Also, the quantity of beef was slightly less than I had expected. That said, the service was attentive, and excellent (before the 6pm rush). Overall, we enjoyed our meal and would dine here again.
