Chicken egg foo young over rice.

Why am I just finding this place? I had a delicious lunch. Great service, excellent prices and plenty of choices. Watched the nice person make my lunch from scratch. Huge dining area. Had a wave of nostalgia as I walked in. South China cafe in the Castro, Mariposa cafe in Dogpatch and so many others that have slowly disappeared but Wok-in is still here. I will be back. I look forward to the breakfast and lunch buffets.

Came here last time just to eat lunch here on my day off which was my 1st time ever that I have ate lunch at the Wok In Cafeteria!!! And the food wasn't that bad at all and just like every other chinese food that I like to order and eat which is no other than my favorite which is the Mince Beef W/Raw Egg over steamed rice!!! Now that I ate lunch at the Wok In Cafeteria for my very 1st time and all I can is that this place is pretty good before coming here it wasn't that busy yet but when it the time was around 11:30 am that's when it started to get really busy!!!

The food here is reasonably priced , the flovor is nice, and the buffet provides a good variety of popular chinese dishes. Judy and Kevin are very friendly , always smile to the customers and u can feel the kindness and goodwill. Speciality recommended: Shrimp with soy sauce, Ginger Chicken. 价廉物美的中餐哦

This is a special request order my mom always gets. (Not on the menu): crispy noodles with minced beef and no egg.

My philosophy as a yelp review is this: unless a place super wows me the first time, I do not like reviewing a place unless I've been there at least 3 times. I just think that's fair and also shows consistency :) With that being said I've probably come here a dozen times. My dad works at Muni nearby and often goes here for lunch. A ton of people around the area one here for lunch, and here's why: Service is amazing. Michelle (the owner) is very friendly and loves greeting customers, cracking jokes, and making sure you are fed well. Everyone here is very friendly. As far as the food goes is always fresh and hot, and if it's not they will make a new batch and let you know. Their buffet is Chinese American food but it's all good. I have grown up in the city, Richmond district, had a ton of Chinese friends growing up, and I will say this food satisfies my Chinese food craving completely. Did I mention it's a buffet too? You can eat as much as you want! But my advice is take is slow and get a little bit of everything and find what you love then go for it. Oh and they also do breakfast all day too! Its the kind you get from the Chinese run diners... with the super big fluffy pancakes smothered in margarine and with those yummy fatty sausages! Ahh so good. Anyways you get your money's worth, and your belly fed right here. Wok on in ;)

This is the BEST hole in the wall for takeout I've found in SF for good dishes and huge portions. No matter how many other take out places I've tried during covid, I always compare to Wok-In and no other restaurant has even come close to how good Wok-In is. I am Chinese so I'm quite picky about Chinese food too. The Peking style pork is a MUST. I get it every time and it always lasts me at 2, if not 3 meals. I also like the honey want shrimp a lot and continue to try the other dishes on their menu. The restaurant is not fancy, don't expect a nice sit down experience but the food is so worth it and I always get take out which holds well.

    Yum!

Awesome sounds on the baritone sax, bass, and drums, with songs like Fly Me To The Moon setting the mood on a Saturday evening. To eat, we had the catfish fingers appetizer, daniel's gumbo, and slow braised short ribs. The catfish was lightly breaded and tender, the short ribs were soft like butter with a tasty sauce, and the gumbo was a hearty dish in a flavorful stew, generous with the meats (chicken, ham, andouille sausage, and shrimp). We also got the dessert special, banana pecan muffin which came with fresh slices of strawberry and blueberries, as well as a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It was delightful. To drink, I tried a couple different cocktails, the Lavender French 75 and The Cotton Club. Both were really good, but I especially enjoyed the latter which was heavy on the strawberry and lemon flavors, my fave. All in all, we had a wonderful experience here, savoring every last bite of our meal while immersed in the inviting atmosphere ideal for date night or any special occasion.

The ambience is definitely "old skool": the dim lighting, the attire of the wait staff, the big old seating booths and the decor screams great gatsby/50s era. It sets up a really romantic, cozy atmosphere for the drinks and dinner. Drinks were solid. I haven't had a sidecar made this impeccably in a while, the rum based cocktail (forgot the name) was also a hit. We tried a little bit of everything. For apps, we had the catfish fingers and the French onion soup. For entrees, we each got a different entree so we can try each other's order. The standout dish for me was the beef short ribs which was so tender that you can just use a fork to eat it. It is served with a red wine sauce and creamy mashed potatoes. I also liked the gumbo, had some meaty sausages in there and pieces of chicken. Old skool cafe, thank you for having us! We will return, hopefully sooner rather than later.

I eat the fries first since they're fresh and chewy. Wish I stick around for an appetizer or a salad; but given that there's several people dining indoors while few of us outdoors, I'll have to pass. Before I walk a couple of blocks toward 7 Mile House, I noticed the gas prices for both gas stations are just as high as near my neighborhood. I'll be wondering how long will a famous family run restaurant can go an extra mile before it runs out of steam. She had heard about this place from a client that she had worked with a couple weeks ago. The place had a really cool vibe to it; it's like you're stepping into a more intimate, Cracker Barrel. We were seated by the front of house pretty quickly. The space could hold quite a few people, there is a bar area and outside seating. We sat in the back by the kitchen. When we got there, we ordered a couple drinks and a lot of food. I had the okey-dokey artichokey and my partner had the respect your elders drink; both were strong and tasty. It went well with our appetizers of fried okra and fried calamari. I really enjoyed the jalapeño aïoli that came with the okra so much that I started dipping the calamari in it. The calamari coating on the outside was a lot heavier than what I was used to, but it was still really tasty. For our main entrées, I got the fried chicken with mashed potatoes and collard greens and my partner got the porch burger with fries. The fried chicken was cooked perfectly. It wasn't dry. It was juicy and I really liked putting their homemade hot sauce on the chicken and greens. The habanero hot sauce was really spicy, but I liked how sweet it was. My partner's burger was cooked perfectly and it was a big portion. I definitely recommend this place to someone who is bold enough to go on a date and still eat with their hands. Somehow, this was elevated southern food, which could be shown by the prices, but I think it's worth it once in a while.

We started with a cocktail and a glass of red wine. For our appetizer we had the Pulpo, coliflor and Hueso Asado. The pulpo which is octopus was nice and tender. Really delicious. The coliflor was okay. It was a little dense for me. The Hueso Asado was scrumptious, buttery and full of flavor, but half of a bone marrow was too small for an appetizer and only served with 4 small thin crostini. For entree we had the Ojo de Bife and Malbec short ribs. The Ojo de Bife which is the rib eye was delicious and grilled perfectly. The meat was not as tender, but the meat itself had a lot of flavor. The short ribs were excellent! Very tender and scrumptious. I would order this again. They should bring back the beef tongue or Lengua. I heard it is a must try. Anyway, we had a great time.
