Great place and don't let the name fool you...very friendly and funny staff! Food is good but wish it was a little bit hot.

What a perfect spot. There are very little food options in the area. Anyone who lives or works near by is blessed to have this spot nearby! Everyone working there was friendly and kind, food is delicious.

I'm not sure what motivated me to come to this weekday breakfast/lunch counter spot. It's in the middle of a lot of blank-faced industrial buildings and off-the-grid offices as I walked away from Bayshore Blvd. toward Bayview. The area was so generic that I'm sure I didn't take the most direct path. I finally saw the sign with the ironic smiley face to go with their surly name. It was a little past 1:30PM when I arrived, plenty of time before their 2:30PM closing. But I was immediately informed they were closing and that I couldn't dine here. Well, OK then...I didn't whine about it but took it to go. They really need to update their hours. But anyway, I quickly ordered the $12.99 Chicken Teriyaki plate and didn't let the door hit me on the way out. I didn't drive over, so it wasn't like there was a nearby park or even a bus bench. Then I remembered passing by Hawker Alley where they have covered outdoor seating (review: https://bit.ly/3rHuld3). Normally I don't arbitrarily sit at another business and take advantage of their open tables. However, since only one table was occupied, I helped myself. The chicken teriyaki was on the goopy side, but it was decent enough because the poultry was tender with the expected rice and side salad complementary (photo: https://bit.ly/3OnBTuw). I just wish the teriyaki sauce was more marinated than ladled onto the chicken. It honestly reminded me of the type of plate I would have at an obon festival in my youth. FOOD - 3 stars...street fair-level chicken teriyaki AMBIANCE - 3 stars...fairly generic lunchroom for the three minutes I was there SERVICE - 2.5 stars...well... TOTAL - 3 stars...guess I need to come earlier, eh RELATED - Exploring Bayview? Here's a collection of places I've visited and reviewed: https://bit.ly/3AOvRKv

For drinks we got a hot and cold matcha latte, cappuccino, and a Jasmine milk tea. My favorite had to be the Saigon steak, the steak was so juicy and tender! Buisness was also popping on Sunday! We kept seeing people line up and wait for a table. Despite how busy it was, our food and drinks came out pretty quick. I made a reservation via Yelp for 3 people on a Saturday at 11:15am. My table was ready on time and they seated me even though our full party was running late. I got the Omelette Fried Rice (4.5/5), that came with delicious sriracha bacon, and an okay salad on the side. For my drink, I got the strawberry matcha latte with oat milk (5/5), which was fantastic. It's on the sweeter side, which worked for me. It was fairly busy and a bit loud inside. The dining room is long and narrow but has a decent amount of seating. Service was good, and friendly.

In my opinion Lapisara ranks in the middle due to the other excellent options available. Seated immediately--had a reso but on a Wednesday morning not really necessary. It took a long time for the single employee to get to us but we weren't in a hurry. Cappuccino was very good in a cute "bear mug" and very reasonably priced. We shared a pacific omlet--not much crab, lots of shrimp, and nice swiss cheese/scallions but tasted kind of fishy--potatoes were only avg. Son said huevos rancheros were average. Price point good for SF and portions adequate to share. Location convenient so we will try dinner there tonight before a comedy show nearby. Dinner-5++ stars; 4 of us Had dinner last night-6pm-reso but not needed. only one other group dining. Single Waitress was great-we let her know we needed to leave in about an hour for a show and she timed everything perfectly--we even had time for dessert. we ordered so many items that she brought over an extra table--we shared everything family style. Most Yelp reviews only mention brunch but the dinner was awesome--service; food: taste/quality, presentation, portions, prices we phenomenally low for SF ($200 with a bottle of wine for 4 people). We started with the garlic butter clams-small but tasty. Tuna tartar was excellent quality and enough to share. Samosas were more like empanadas--very good with peanut sauce so good it rivaled my own home made. We continued our culinary adventure with crab fried rice-delicious, a large portion and my son who lives in SF and has tried dozens of crab fried rice ranked it in the top tier. The pacific catch rice noodles with crab was also excellent-big portion, lots of crab, tasty. Final entree was their specialty-Mussaman Curry. Wow, tender meat/potatoe "stew" with a very unique flavor from the star anise/cinnamon and peanut--to die for. Creme Brulee was very good with lots of fresh fruit accompaniment My only complaint was a very limited wine selection. Lapisaia will become one of our regular spots for dinner!!!

We ordered two Plow plates -- one with the house-made pork sausage and the other with the chicken apple sausage. We also swapped the lemon ricotta pancakes on one of the plates for the almond flour pancakes so we could try both. Everything was well executed. The potatoes were nicely cooked with plenty of crispy pieces, and the eggs came out exactly as we requested. Both sausages were flavorful, although we both slightly preferred the chicken apple sausage. The pancakes were the only part of the meal that didn't quite win us over. The texture was softer and mushier than we expected. We were hoping for something a bit lighter and cakier. Between the two, my boyfriend preferred the almond flour pancakes. Overall, I think Plow is worth trying, but it's not a place I'm in a rush to return to.
