Worst delivery service EVER!!! The delivery driver in his white Tesla drove into my driveway, walked to the front door, rang the doorbell, set the food down and walked away. It was 31deg outside and our food was sitting on the porch. By the time my wife walked the thirty feet from the family room to the door he was pulling out of the driveway and she didn't see the food on the porch because it was blocked by a planter. I called to complain and the manager said he was busy and couldn't stand there for the 20 seconds it takes to walk to the door. He actually said did you expect him to wait for you to get to the door? Just a warning to everyone, this place is horrible!! I found a fingernail in my food years ago, went into the restaurant to confront them and the manager said it couldn't have happened here. the Wok Express on Dorset Rd has become hit or miss with me the last few times I ordered there. The fried shrimp appetizer was so hard and overcooked i could barely bite into it and when I did the taste was terrible. Another time I ordered the egg fu young {sp.} and the taste was so bad I had to spit it out. It was not even in patty form it was in chunks. I called the restaurant to complain and they insisted the chef cooked it the same as possible. However, the owner was very gracious and said the next time I ordered from there he would take the price of the egg fu young {sp.} off the total and he did. Yesterday evening I ordered the chicken lo mein with added crab sticks. It smelled so bad and the taste was worse. I ordered for delivery and it was delivered with sauce all over the bottom of the bag it came in and when I opened the food container, my food was pushed to one side and dripping with sauce out of the container it was in and the food was pretty salty. Our family has been going to Wok Express for nearly 20 years, and we don't plan on stopping any time soon. The staff is always friendly and willing to help with any issues, the food is delicious, prices are great, and service is quick! Even when I moved to Kirkwood for several years, I would go out of my way to get food from here. One of my family members now lives in Ballwin and they still only choose Wok Express! Our favorite chinese take out is closed for remodeling... so Hubby and I decided to give Wok Express a try as they are close to home and had good reviews. Unfortunately I cannot recommend them.... I called and ordered for takeout (they do have delivery for a minimal fee as well). The employee was helpful and my order was ready when I got there (early from their quote). All this was great. The food presentation was great and everything looked tasty. My disappointment is 2 fold - flavor and quality. We ordered our usual: large chicken fried rice, beef and broccoli combo dinner, crab rangoon, fried wonton and an order of egg foo young gravy (was about $24). The rice was not to my liking.... It wasn't bad necessarily, just not what I prefer. It was like yellow and kinda mushy as opposed to a dark brown and firm. The crab rangoon and wontons both looked large and crispy - problem is there was almost NOTHING inside. I could not even find a piece of beef in the wonton - it was like shredded and so little that the pouch (where the beef should be) didn't poof out :( Similar with crab rangoon - it did have a poof out but almost no filling. The egg foo young gravy was tasty and I did like it. Overall I will not be back because the wonton and rangoons are lacking. They cost about $7 together - I cannot pay that for crispy wonton wrappers with no filling. read more

Most Chinese food in this area is pretty decent, and this is no exception. After coming here about a dozen times I can categorically say you won't be disappointed. Healthy choice chicken and broccoli- the only good dish. Chicken and broccoli was steamed. Only flavor was from the garlic sauce but tastes the best of all the food we purchased. So, I'm tired of poor customer service from this restaurant!! When there's a complication or issue with the order, they are quick to tell you that it's your fault. Language barrier or not! That's not customer service! Find a solution don't tell me I'm the problem. I ordered General Tso's chicken for a co-worker, but what actually got ordered was General's chicken. Sounds similar but it's not. Upon calling to advise of the mixup, I'm told it was my fault. I was working in the area for a week and ate there a total of 7 times. I saw the prices and didn't expect much but they exceeded my expectations by far. I had the Mongolian beef, human chicken, braised pork, wonton soup, egg roll, hot and sour soup, and noodle soup.....not all on the same trip of course.
