We've been going to Quik Wok on the Rock Road for 20+ years. When they changed owners 10 or so years ago, we continued eating there. However, recently their quality has really degraded. Insomuch, that after consistently pulling chewed up grisly beef out of my rice, I finally decided to give them a call. (First time I made a complaint to them, ever). Now instead of being professional or saying sorry for such a poor experience, he became confrontational and argued that it's the "same beef" then told me to bring up the literal handful of chewed up beef with the rest of the uneaten rice so they can see it before they're willing to just replace the $6.65 order... For twenty years, we have ordered the same thing, they've even delivered to our home multiple times, always had a good relationship, never a problem. Given that they can't even apologize, but instead want me to prove there is a problem, as if they're gonna get ripped off buy a regular customer for something under ten bucks. In the past, I would have recommended them, but as of late - Nope. I'm posting this review as a warning to anyone considering going there. It's recently become a gamble on whether or not you'll have good quality food and when it's not, you're most likely up the creak. read more

Stopped on our road trip. Yum yum!! My husband just had to find a place that served a St Paul sandwich. And I wanted vegan food. And a place that's opened on Sunday's. So this place was it!! Yay!! Jackpot y'all. Win win all the way. They have a drive through and they're quick too. Our food was fresh and hot. Hubby said the sandwich was tasty. My mixed veggies with tofu and rice was delicious. We were staying at the Wyndham by the airport and ordered for delivery. They were fast and very pleasant in person and on the phone. We ordered General Tso's Chicken and a Pu Pu Platter for Two. They were both very reasonably priced and delicious. I also ordered Lo Mein and asked for mushrooms and onions in it. It was perfect! The whole order was correct and only about $30. QW offers quick take out. Use the drive through to order and pick up OR call in order and use drive through for pick up. Staff is friendly. My recent order was chicken broccoli combo for lunch. Opted for white rice instead of fried rice and 2 crab rangoon instead of egg roll. Combo portions are big and are 2+ meals for me. read more

I've tried a few Chinese takeout places in Saint Ann now and so far this one is my favorite. I really like the Kung Pao chicken and the Crab Ragoons are really great! I'm also grateful that they have steamed chicken (sauce on the side) & mixed vegetables available as a gluten-free option for my husband. The disappointments have been incorrect orders. We chose "white sauce" on the side of my husbands steamed chicken. Two times in a row we were given brown sauce and when my husband asked for white sauce at pickup, the staff didn't seem to know what he was talking about. It shouldn't be an option on the website if it isn't available. Overall, good food, quick pickup service, and we will continue to order from here. read more

If this is one of the better places to get Chinese in the area I feel for people who live here! From the reviews on yelp we thought we had hit the jack pot on getting some good Chinese food. Pulling up to the building and parking lot you'll notice they are dark and give off a sketchy vibe. The man at the drive-thru was kind and polite. Once order was taken we were asked to pull around to the front of the building and the food would be brought out. The food was very hot no complaint there. The complaint comes in the presentation and flavor or lack of flavor. The food was delivered to the car within about five min. of ordering, so a plus there. It really starts with opening the containers of the generals chicken and empress chicken both meals with fried rice. The rice was the color of soy sauce with a flavor I couldn't figure out. Both the main dishes looked like chicken tossed in an orange sauce both of the same flavor which wasn't a much. Don't make the same mistake we did and go off of the reviews, someone has to be writing them up for them to boost the star rating. Save your money! read more

I get it. I'm just talking about for MY taste. Their fried rice is on par with other good STL chinese food (I won't use the colloquialism I'd like to use). Crab rangoon is decent and well flavored if not a little too sweet. As usual is all but devoid of crab (read surimi) but this is typical for most places today. So if you're in the area, definitely give Quik Wok a try. Also, I almost forgot thew best feature of this gem is their amazingly fast delivery! No multiple-dish, atmosphere-based, etc. reviews here, because only one thing matters: If you're looking for Springfield-style cashew chicken in the St. Louis area, Quik Wok does it right. That's good for five stars regardless of any other considerations. Springfield-style cashew chicken is breaded, deep-fried chicken served with chopped green onions and cashews in "oyster sauce" -- a sort of brown gravyish substance that doesn't taste at all like oysters. The folks at Quik Wok call it "Menu Item #17: Crispy Cashew Chicken Combo." For about $5 (if you order a soft drink), you get a styrofoam to-go tray with a heaping helping of the stuff, some fried rice, and an egg roll. Yes, I'm sure it's bad for you. I try to resist the craving, but every month or two ... well, moving right along ... It's called Springfield-style cashew chicken because it was invented in Springfield, Missouri by David Leong. I used to live there -- for a couple of years, I lived about about 100 yards behind Leong's Tea House. I'm a committed cashew chicken fan and have eaten it at probably 30 restaurants, 25 of them in Springfield itself, and Quik Wok's version definitely holds its own in terms of taste, quality, and portion size to price. The chicken is tender (I don't know or care if they use MSG), the onions and cashews taste fresh, the oyster sauce is thick but not cloying. Sinfully satisfying. The fried rice is good to go, the egg rolls, crab rangoon and wontons at least passable. My significant other approves of their lo mein. The staff are friendly, the food preparation is reasonably fast, and they throw plenty of soy sauce, hot mustard, napkins and plastic utensils in the brown paper bag your food gets handed out the drive thru window in. If I'm looking for other types of Chinese or Chinese-y food other places will do, but so far Quik Wok serves the only truly excellent Springfield-style cashew chicken I've found in the St. Louis area. read more

Based on the review above I had hoped my quest for perfect Springfield style crispy cashew chicken had ended, no such luck. I won't eat dark meat chicken, have personal reasons. White meat available on regular cashew but not crispy. This tells me they aren't breading their own meat. I was really torn to do 3 or 4 stars. I originally put 3 strictly from the overall taste of the food but the value and delivery promptness pushed it to a 4 star. I am Staying at a hotel near the STL airport. I have to say it was amazing how fast they delivered. They knocked on the door 17 minutes after I called. That's not even subtracting the time it took to order! The food was very hot on arrival which always makes me feel better in regards to food safety. In fact the soup took 10 mins to cool down enough to try (not a bad thing at all). Prices were very good and again the fast delivery was impressive. Overall the food was fair.
