I've been to The Wok in Belgrade a number of times at odd hours of the day (I have a strange work schedule), and the food has always been consistently great and the service is very efficient and courteous. I believe, but I cannot confirm, that the owner does all the cooking - that is why it is great and consistent. I know. I've owned a restaurant. I recommend it, and find that the cuisine is better than any comparable in the nearby town of Bozeman. I see that some of the reviews discuss the personalities in the restaurant, the clutter in the entrance way, etc., but I'm only interested in the quality of the food which, I believe and for Montana, is excellent. Happened to be stuck in Bozeman, so had a yen for Chinese food. This was close to the hotel where I am staying. I love my spicy food. The spicy dishes are all done for beef, chicken, or shrimp, with shrimp costing extra (of course....). The choices for spicy dishes are: Mongolian, Szechuan, Curry, and Kung Pao. I couldn't decide. The food server suggested Curry. I asked what the spice scale was. The food server graciously admitted, "We don't have a scale, we just wing it." So she said she would request EXTRA EXTRA spicy. I ordered curry chicken. It was good, but I would have preferred a notch higher on the "spice" scale. The food server offered to give me chili paste to make it more spicy, but I feared I would mess it up so I turned that down. The hot and sour soup really hit the spot! However, it came in a small bowl that was slightly smaller than what I was used to in Chinese restaurants, but the bowl was designed to look like it was bigger. I'm not fooled.... it was a smaller bowl than what I have seen. But it did hit the spot on the "hot" and "sour" scale. My lunch was only $8.50 so normally would only have tipped $1, but the food server was SO PERKY (wow, even I can't manufacture that level of perkiness.....) that I left $2..... and this is considering that I DESPISE the practice of having to tip in the first place...... No place to park an RV, this is located in a small strip mall. I drove here in a rental car. read more

It's over priced for the quality of the food. The vegetable chow mien was extremely runny and to top it off we found a hair in it. The appetizer we ordered was not worth 11 dollars for two won tons, some kind of pork that was flavorless, chicken that did not taste at all good and 1 spring roll. I have been a regular at the wok for a long time! This evening my boyfriend and I ordered dinner for delivery as usual! This is the second time we have found a random object in our food! This time being a metal wire. They are fast and have good food but the sanitation there is terrible and biting down on a metal object for the second time is unacceptable! Overpriced, food was meh at best, portions were small for the price. Fried wontons, 8 pieces for 4 bucks and not even meat inside them? Plus, it took them about 10 minutes to figure out they forgot one of our items so my husband had to turn around to pick it up and we got to eat nice, cold food when he finally got home. Got some takeout on a whim. It was ready fast and hot. The beef and broccoli were very flavorful and the pork fried rice, while a little bland was awesome with the sauce from my entree. I really appreciated them offering lunch specials on a weekend. Definitely will try more entrees. read more

The worst Chinese food I've ever had in my entire life... The chicken was extremely bland and we found multiple hairs in the rice. We both felt sick to our stomachs, and like we were going to vomit. About 90% of the food was thrown away simply because it was so disgusting. We have never had any Chinese food that even closely resemble this attempt. Went there for dinner. The beef w/broccoli was quite tasty, while the wok special chow mein was tasteless. The waitress, while fairly efficient was brusque almost to the point of rudeness. The rice came out 10 minutes before our food. I don't think we'll eat there again. read more

We used to be frequent customers but lately the meals have gone downhill. Szechuan chicken or beef has hardly any vegetables in it. They used to have different kinds. We commented to the waitress and she said, "yes, they do come with less vegetables." Disappointing and we most likely will not be going there again. read more

Ordered food last night and they forgot one of the items but charged us for it. Food was delivered at 6:40. I called to ask them to please deliver the other item and was told it might be a little longer because the driver was out on deliveries. Told them that was fine, just please deliver as soon as they could. By 10pm still no food. Called tonight to ask for it again to eat with the left overs and sat on hold for over 10 minutes and finally hung up. Not impressed. read more

Hit or miss... I've had great food and I've had food that was lacking (literally lacking chicken in my chicken chow mein!). Wait staff are always super nice, but seem understaffed (usually just 1 waitress). Take out has been good and reliable as far as time. read more

Too over priced for the quality of food, not your average chow mein that you're used to which I would prefer the average kind. The menu is more complicated then it should be, you can't just make your own combo plate they have four options for $15 each. I was definitely not satisfied with their food unfortunately, I will go somewhere else if I want Chinese food again. read more

We are transplants from Seattle and used to having lots of Chinese take out. This place has to be the best place we have tried in the state. We ordered the family app plater, orange beef, and general Taos chicken. Everything was awesome. Worth the drive from Bozeman! read more

We always usually order from the wok however tonight was the second time in less than 6 months that they have forgot items. Once was an entire meal, tonight was our rice. The irritating part was they were over 20 minutes late from the initial time they said it would be here. Why would I wait another hour to receive our rice or receive a $2.00 credit?! I placed a take out order and when I arrived home my order was not complete. I called immediately to inform them of this and was offered a store credit. I felt this was fair. I received a phone call a little while later and they then told me they would not give me a store credit or any credit as they had no other take out orders with that same item. The hostess apologized and stated there was nothing she could do. BAD customer service, and I WAS a frequent patron. NEVER again will I enter their establishment. I've been going to the wok for about 22 years now. It has always been my favorite with great food great prices and the owners were top notch they would go out of their way to make sure you're meal was perfect, I loved it so much I even worked there in 2001, today I was severely disappointed I the new owners, usually if a waitress takes your order on paper, can't really make a mistake. I'm allergic to white onions and asked for none in my beef dish. She took it away, and instead of making a new one, they just picked out white onions. They forgot quite a few. They should have said "oh we'll make you a new at no charge. Nope, it was a slap it the face at how I was treated! Never have I ever had that kind of experience at any restaurant anywhere in the world. I soon realized, this new owner/restaurant has no ethics or morality of any source.? I loved The Wok and had a certain dish that I always got there (Mandarin Chicken minus the chicken, sub tofu), but was told this last week that I will now have to pay $3 extra for tofu! So I not only had to pay for the chicken which I did not want (I'm vegetarian), but I had to pay EXTRA for the tofu above the price of the chicken! I was so frustrated at that. The server told me that she had to start charging for the tofu because she was getting into trouble when she didn't. I loved that dish, but am not paying an extra $3 for something to replace the chicken! I do not recommend this restaurant due to bad policies like that. I feel discriminated against as a vegetarian! They just lost a regular customer. read more
