Steak flight!
Liz P.

This place was excellent. I always scope out menus ahead of time, and I'm in town for a conference. A colleague made a reservation for us here, and as soon as I saw they had a steak flight on the menu, I knew that's what I wanted to order. The steak flight is supposed to come medium rare but I needed it to be medium well, and they were able to accommodate it. When the board came out, the steak was still pretty red, as you can see in my photo, and the waiter asked if I needed it cooked longer, and was able to make that happen for me - very good customer service. There is street parking right outside the restaurant, and after 6:00 p.m. it's free, so that was a good deal as well. Overall I would definitely come back here, my party didn't order dessert but I saw they had a cookie board which looked awesome, as well as a few other nice-looking options.

We have been here several times and the food is always fantastic! Creatively imagined and beautifully presented. Last night we arrived at 4:30 pm for their Tuesday through Saturday happy hour where they offer several appetizers and cocktails at reduced prices. Also Bells Two Hearted and Shorts Local Light pints for $3. A select white and red wine are available for $5. Last night I enjoyed the Crisp Martini ($8) and the selected red wine which was a Malbec and delicious. Hubby had two hearted and red wine. We loved the PEI mussels and Truffle Potato Croquettes. We noshed until HH ended (6:01 pm) then split Apple Salad and Poached Halibut from the main menu. Everything was perfectly cooked and delicious! This is a beautiful restaurant with a view of Michigan avenue, a cool bar and loft area as well as outside seating. We have never had trouble getting a table and I'm shocked they are not busier at Happy Hour. You gotta check it out!

Service was phenomenal, genuine and kind. They were a bit slow so maybe that's why I got so much attention? Lol Food - Happy hour menu had a good selection of appetizers with great proportions Ambiance - Upscale but not exactly formal, leggings would be considered underdressed

I hadn't been to WL Social House since their rebrand, and it didn't disappoint. With a full bar, wide selection of wine, and a variety of menu items, we loved each selection. We started with the truffle potato croquettes, which had an amazing truffle and cheese sauce. There were four total, which was perfect for our group. I also ordered the duck breast for my main, and it was amazing. Our server was very attentive and kind. We definitely will be back!

Our wagyu steak board was a bit cold and anticlimactic. Coming from Chicago maybe I had too high of expectations? They discounted it though!

600 is such a cute place for a lovely meal!…read more We have been multiple times but stopped in on a recent sunny afternoon for some lunch. 600 is so light and airy, we really love the atmosphere!! We had a really great waitress, I wish I would have gotten her name! She was doing the job of hostess and waitress to multiple tables, and doing it all very well! We ordered a chicken sandwich and a salad for our lunch entrees! Both were very good and presented very well! While the food is good and quality feels high - the price is also on the high side. For a sandwich and a salad, waters to drink, we spent over $50 for our lunch! Just something to be aware of! While we had time - the experience was not fast. Something to be aware of if needing a quick lunch. The restaurant was not overly busy but the wait was a little long to receive our order. I ordered a salmon salad - the menu nor the website specify if the salmon is wild caught or farmed. I would really love to know this information - the price would be much better reflected if it were indeed wild caught. :)

The service was on the slower side and could have used more attention to detail--coffee refills were missed, and we didn't have spoons to stir our coffee. That said, our server was kind and had a gentle, pleasant demeanor. The food overall was very good. Only one person in our group was disappointed--the chicken and waffles were described as dry, with the chicken coating lacking flavor. Everyone else enjoyed their meals, and the desserts were a standout; they were excellent and loved by all. One area that could use improvement is the upstairs bathroom. While it was well stocked with supplies, it needed cleaning. Clear signage for the upstairs restroom and perhaps a nice piece of artwork would also be welcome touches. Overall, a nice brunch experience with great desserts and room for a few improvements.

Our second visit to Brasserie 23 was Valentine's Day brunch. We arrived on time for our reservation…read moreand were promptly seated. Our server Sean was attentive and helpful. The restaurant is clean and attractive. I had the Croque Madame, which was literally perfect, and better than those I had in Paris. The bread was perfectly toasted, the cheese perfectly melted, the egg perfectly cooked (not runny, not overly hard), the ham perfectly salted. Others in my group enjoyed the Short Ribs Benedict, Grand Bebe, and Tortilla de Patatas. (I'll note our first visit was the morning after a Notre Dame home game, and their stores were depleted: we could have anything on the menu as long as it was chicken. :) The chicken dishes we had that visit were very well done as well - moist and juicy on the inside and lovely on the outside. Obviously we came back, just not after a home game!)

No one enjoyed their dinner. The portions are small, prices are high, the flavor is lacking, and it…read moretook awhile to get our food. Onion Soup Gratinee - $11 - Needed salt and wasn't very flavorful. 2/5 stars. Chorizo and Shrimp - $22 - This was easily the best dish. Cooked well, good flavor, and a decent portion (probably because the price is so high). 4/5 stars. Chicken and Leek Puff Pastry - $26 - The pastry was lacking. It was soggy, weird taste to it, and just not pleasant. The filling was also mediocre. Don't get this. 0/5 stars. L'Entrecote de Paris (Steak Frites) - $45 - The steak was chewy, the fries were over salted. For $45, this was not enough steak, whatsoever. Not like it was a good cut either. It's a rip off. 0/5 stars. Pan Roasted Duck Breast - $36 - My mom and I both ordered this, and we could combine both of our dishes to make ONE duck breast. Portion was horribly small. Never have I ever been given HALF a duck breast. The sauce wasn't good either and it was broken. 2/5 stars cause the rest of it was cooked fine. The birthday dessert was a scoop of ice cream and some stale cinnamon pastry thing. This was wildly bad. If the flavors were on point, the prices would be understandable. But the flavors were bad, the prices are expensive, and we waited a very long time to get our food. We couldn't get into a different restaurant that night (it was a Saturday night on move in weekend), but this one we could get into, and now we know why. Don't go here.
