SCOPE OF JOB
Installation of 1 cabinet with 2 mirrored doors(35X54X12"); 2 dowels placed inside cabinet for hangers & removal of existing shelves. Work to be done directly above a set of stairs leading to the 2nd floor of our townhouse. I call this area our "Hall of Fame", all the framed concert posters we acquired over years hang on both sides of the walls & on top of the cabinet. A black drape had been hanging down over the shelves (no doors)to cover all the junk inside but it only made the area look dull & drabby (I'd compare it to a funeral home) so that's how I came up with the idea to have mirrors instead by bringing some light in to make the area more cheerful, plus the framed posters would look nice reflecting off the mirrors as well.
INITIAL CONTACT PERIOD
After contacting several companies it became clear that getting the installation done would be problematic. I received a few quotes for the cabinets themselves but no one wanted to do the install. I kinda got it... it was risky, a safety issue, so at this point I was thinking it would be back to the drawing board UNTIL I contacted Troy. That was during 2nd week of July. I explained what needed to be done & after texting pictures of the area he responded fairly quickly (within 3 days) that he could do the job; (about a week later I received his proposal (considering scope of work, cost was super affordable) & the following day he came to our house to make sure nothing was left out, that we were on the same wave-length. Everything checked out ok so we sat back & waited for the cabinet vendor to do their thing. Some time passed by when we got word that due to an issue with paperwork on the part of the cabinet vendor, the work was delayed, but Troy kept the lines of communication open which was good. Plus we weren't up against any time restraints so it didn't matter that much. It was 3 days before Hurricane Lane was to hit Oahu that I was contacted by Troy to say the cabinet was done & he would be working on putting the mirrors on. With the impending storm & everyone focusing on more important things, we agreed to wait until the weather cleared up. That ended up being the following Monday.
INSTALLATION DAY
Troy & his son Jesse arrived promptly & went to work. Once the cabinet was brought inside I noticed that there were no imperfections anywhere, the 2 mirrored doors met perfectly together down the center & had a nice smooth finish along the edges..very sleek looking. That, plus the fact that Jesse ended up balancing the heavy cabinet on his head (WHILE STANDING ON THE STAIRS) as dad mounted it as quickly as he could on the wall....WOW!!! This father & son team are professionals & very hard working, you can tell they have a lot of pride in the work they do. Troy really knows his craft, his company name/logo is so fitting. All in all a wonderful experience, we couldn't be happier with our new cabinet. read more
