I needed a late appointment because of work so I was their last appointment. Usually other places would rush their last appointment but NOT this place! I was looking for a new optometrist to update my prescription for both contact lenses and glasses. I found Dr. Liu on Yelp and decided to give him a try due to all his 5 star reviews. I have to say, Dr. Liu is by far the best optometrist I've gone to for the past 10 years! He took his time to exam my eyes carefully and did not rush me while answering all my questions with great details. He found that I had red eyes due to wearing contacts that were too curved and prescribed me a different brand that was way more comfortable. This was not told to me by my previous doctor. After we were done with contacts, he even personally helped me pick out a new frame and lenses for my glasses that fit my needs! On top of that, his prices are great! Dr Wesley at Wise Optometry is honestly one of the most detailed doctors I've seen, which changed my perspective of where to get glasses doesn't make any difference. He was extremely careful during the eye exam , found out problems I didn't even know before and so patient while trying to explain every detail to someone like me who doesn't know much about taking care of my eyes. He also tried to save me money by telling me about a rebate program for the contact lenses I had to purchase. On top of that, when I tried to register for the rebate, I had some questions, and he went online and applied for the rebate for me, which saved me a lot of trouble and time. In my opinion the quality and care of an Optometry facility is directly related with the time the qualified Optometrist at the facility devotes to the patients. Being at the age I am at now I have had to make yearly visits to the optometrist to get glasses and/or contact lenses for several years now, and I can say without any hesitation that Dr. Liu is most devoted to his patient by far. In all the other facilities I have been to its more or less a 30 minute visit where the optometrist performs the required tests, asses the results and quickly determines, somewhat arbitrarily, the correct lens and/or contact lens, writes out a prescription and you are on your way. Oh and at the end of the tests there is always a push for the patient to end up buying the contacts or the glasses at the optometry, which is usually more expensive. However at Wise Optometry it's completely different and it's all to do with Dr. Liu. For example, I have been a patient of his for approximately 2 months now and I still have not asked for my 'official prescription' because he has given me so many samples since it is a trial and error method to see what works best for the patient and what he/she is most comfortable with.. Not only that though Dr. Liu literally explains what each sample will help with and where it may not be so good. Needless to say I am very happy with his approach and even though at present I live close by to Wise Optometry, but if and when I do end up moving to other parts of LA, I will always be back. Finally even though it is an optometry and carries every type of contacts, neither the good doctor and nor the staff has ever made any sales pitch for me to buy my contacts from them. This is just a very brief description of what to expect at Wise Optometry, and I would end up writing a lot more and I don't want to do that, but for sure if you are looking to have a very genuine evaluation of your eyes then you can't go wrong with Dr. Liu, give him a try. read more

Originally I have been a frequent visitor at another optometry office in Arcadia but since I have recently move out here, so I decided to find a different optometrist. I had to visit an optometrist because someone broke into my car and stole my sunglasses. I found dr.Liu on yelp due to the great reviews, and normally I do not write reviews but this time I think I have to. I am extremely surprised on how informative and professional dr.Liu perform the exam. He carefully explain and even check my eyes health which I wasn't even expecting. I haven't seen a optometrist in the past that does an exam this thoroughly where most exams were like McDonald drive through. In terms of price, I see they are about the same everywhere, so with designer glasses will be quite expensive as usual. At the end, I got a regular glasses with a sunglasses clip on, and I have to say to give dr Liu a try and trust me, you won't regret on his professionalism and thoroughness.
